Man! Wayne is my all time most inspiring trumpet player! I just ordered his mouthpiece in gold plate should come in tomorrow and I can’t wait. I hope to meet him one day!
John Holifield lol I wish. It definitely focused and refined my sound a lot. I’m now slotting double A’s and Bb’s in tune with a solid fat sound. I love the mouthpiece. It’s truly great
Sounds like Wayne was taking it easy! Good grief where did those notes come from? Wow can't wait to get a copy just hope he MD of the band I okay doesn't end up get the charts the future I don't think my chops could last that long!
Gotta add another remark now just listened to this track again and I still think Wayne was taking it easy but Arturo wow listening to it properly what a combination !!!! Looooove.... It!
Two things --- It is overall a fabulous video, but what happened at the end "Full TEXT here!" ha, ha, someone forgot to delete this text. Second thing -- love all the pictures of all the horns, but where is the drummer? You definitely have a drummer, and there is not ONE teeny picture of the drummer ...... thanks!
+Jeannette Pina -Hi Jeanette! Yep - We have no idea why the last slide did that - the iMovie says "Available in January, 2016." One of the opening slides shows the drummer (Dave Weckl) and we even have a text written..."Featuring Dave Weckl" who is sitting at his drum set, so you must have missed it. I think it's the 5th or 6th slide in. Also, in the pictures of the overall sessions, there are at least 2 of Ray Brinker - the drummer:)
Damn this is literally near perfect playing the level of technical skill required for this... Wayne setting a new standard It’s like every single note from every single musician was individually worked out with painstaking attention to detail, which probably was the case
I never heard some one playing higher then Arturo Sandoval. But is that important, playing so high? When I listen to trumpet players I always must think about Dereck Watkins. How does that comes?
David Breese Quoting Wayne himself from Maynard Trumpet forums: "Hi All, thanks for the kind words about the new recording. To answer your questions-Arturo played the triple G near the end of the chart, and the triple E to F at the end of our solo trading. I don't really have those notes at my disposal like Arturo does. I played the C on the last note of the piece and the melody lines."
Wayne Bergeron......putting piccolos to shame since the 7th grade......
Probably my favorite recording of the past 40 years ... love this CD and Wayne's playing is amazing.
You're killing it Wayne! Can't wait to buy it!
What a joy to listen to such musicianship! And the trumpet solos.....wow,.... Wow,..... WOW!

Did it make you a high note monster?
