USE YOUR NEWLY MADE CHIPBOARD ON THIS PROJECT

  • @judyjacksonraines8883

Hey Sherry, I have been using all the material that you listed on my chipboard projects. But, there is chipboard between the plastic on binders. This may not be as hard to get as you think. As it turns out, companies throw away binders all the time. I have severals friends that are still working(I'm retired) and have gotten an abundance of binders from them that were being thrown in the trash(not recycled). Something to think about, just love all your creativity. Thanks for always sharing.

This is great advice! When I first heard you say this, I started saving my cardboard boxes, mailers and cereal boxes. Since I lived out in the country at the time, it really helped because I didn't have to wait to go into town or order chip board and wait for it. It's great for teaching our kids and grand kids how to recycle and be creative, as well. Thank you!

Don’t discard the back of notepad and spiral notebooks. Notepads have very sturdy chipboard.

    I like to use frozen pizza boxes because they're usually 12 x 12. :-)

Sherry...I love it so much that you address some of these dilemmas...it’s a great reminder for us more experienced crafters and a huge help to beginner crafters. We forget we can put together our own supplies if we have the instructions in “how-to”. 😁 you are deeeee 🐝 beeeeez kneeeeez. 😂

I ordered some light cheap board from eBay to start copying your amazing stuff. When they reached I realized that are too light, so I open a box of cereal glue the front and back parts with two of the cheap boards. Let them dry and I want tomorrow, God’s willing to make my first box to save some eye liners. I will post fotos, but just if it end up good😂🤣. Thanks again!

I was given a HUGE box of used manila folders by my supervisor at work. She didn't want to reuse them, even though they were in pretty good condition. I glue two or three (or however many I want to for the desired thickness I need) together and viola, I have sturdy board to use for making my junk journals. I do also use a lot of food packaging because they are often already a book cover form, as you point out. I love the ones with little acetate windows that you can use to make a "peek-a-boo" into the journal. BTW, your book is adorable! Great idea to corral your embellishments like that, by theme so they're beautiful AND easy to find. Brilliant as always! Thank you!

Yes ma'am!! I use packaging myself.... Cereal boxes, cracker boxes I mean I've already paid for the paperboard too, right? At any given time, there's always something I can cut up and glue together!!!

You always say to double up on cereal boxes and up until this video it never occurred to me to tape the pieces together!

I just have to laugh! I had my students making books out of boxes since the 70s. I love to see you continue. We ended up using boxes of all sizes, my favorites were pasta boxes with cellophane windows and toothpaste boxes.

It's great that you pointed out common household items that can be deconstructed for crafting materials. People new to crafting may need to train their eyes to spy possible materials just waiting to be repurposed!

I’m so happy to read all this. About 5 years ago another RUclips person suggested this and got the meanest comments about food boxes attracting bugs and rodents and “OMG” germs!!

You can use those pieces you are gonna throw away as sticker backers! If you want to give a bit more dimension to your stickers, you can use those pieces as for in 3-D cards
