Yep.
Well France was very liberal back then.
@@vxy357 well america was very racist back then oh wait....
Black people and soldiers remember who the true enemy is. The enemy isn't in some foreign home, they're back home and closer than you think, do not fight for your enemy
@@theguy8729 Well back in those days, The black man had to choose the lesser of 2 evils. It was either that or Hitler's Nazis and Tojo's Imperial army. Keep in mind that some blacks died at Pearl Harbor. One black sailor, Dorie Miller, took over a machine gun nest and shot down several Japanese Zeros. On that fateful day, he knew who the enemy was, despite all of the racism he faced back then.
A true American hero who upon his return home couldn’t eat/walk anywhere he wanted in the country he was ready to lay his life down for.
Black people and soldiers remember who the true enemy is. The enemy isn't in some foreign home, they're back home and closer than you think, do not fight for your enemy
@@theguy8729 I somehow think that that's no longer the case 😂 you literally wouldn't be saying that had Germany not lost the first world war, if they had they would have won the second and then they would've executed their plans to conquer South America, Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
@@MrDonKP Ok? Things have changed because racism is less accepted. But that Germany thing doesn’t rlly help ur case considering there were black ppl in Germany getting treated the EXACT same way in Germany as they were in America. A lot of the blakc soldiers that went back home were literally hung months later over nothing.

TWENTY-ONE WOUNDS.

So this is where doom guys inspiration came fron
I like the way you put this. It's kinda funny.
Germans: 21 STAB WOUNDS!
Henry: Tis But A Scratch.
This man is literally a WH40k Dreadnought bruh...
Johnson on his rampage: "I will die a thousand deaths before I yield!"
Johnson after his rampage: "I...cannot...**powers down** move :( !"

Wrong war; the M1 Garand was a World War II weapon. In World War I, Henry Johnson would've used either . . .

Sgt. Henry Johnson was truly a tough man. He was truly a war hero.
Yep

He truly was a true hero and a truly tough man indeed
My fav halo character for sure
People like him and Alvin York are who Ive always wanted to be like, when i was 4 I went to my great grandpa Milt's military funeral (ww2 veteran) since then Ive wanted a military funeral. I think the only way im going to get that is through a LOT of pain, things arnt going well right now for me, but im going to keep pushing through whatever I run into, honestly I kind of hope war between china and tiawan/united states kicks off--> it will be an opportunity to stop the horrors of the CCP and in doing that make the world (and china) a better place, and get that military funeral,
German: **Steps on a twig**
Henry: So anyway I started chugging grenades.
That brother deserves to brought to the silver screens. It would make a great movie. A true war hero that loved his country when it didn't even love him back.
I agree with you
Agreed 💯
a movie just like the sergeant york movie
I'd agree with a few freedoms for a better ending.

I cant help but feel like Sgt. Johnson from Halo might be based off this badass
Hmm. He did say they had to share the rock
yeah even the name is really similar
More like that episode of Archer, where the butler went crazy in ww1 lol It was actually pretty similar.

Hi
Just imagine turning a man into Swiss cheese and he still keeps murdering everybody
For those wondering why blacks would fight for a country that considered them second class citizens:
Many Black Americans believed that if they proved their loyalty by fighting for America, they would earn respect and be treated as equals back home.
Imagine being such a badass they name you after a plague that wiped out half of Europe.
😂😂
Considering what time it was I would not be suprised if his skin color was why they named him that. Hayha was called White Death because of the entire snow thing. I don't think its a similar thing here. I mean black death is a cool name but I think the reason why it was given to him is up for debate.
@@dpm2937 they called him that out of respect, beside, it was WW1, so i think it is okay, somehow, idk
@@dpm2937 I mean they weren’t dumb they knew the correlation. They knew his skin made it fitting and the plague connection made it clever on top of it.
Didactic he wide out more than half those Germans
Dang his back must be hurting after carrying that much

Not only his back, his arm, his chest, Heck he literally suffered 21 wounds just to hold off A SUPPLY BRIDGE.
@@darrenaqilawangsech8652.
The video clearly stated that if that supply bridge went into enemy hands that the war was LITERALLY over at the point.

Shocker you can't.

I served in the 101st as infantry myself, I'm not half the man he was.... This bought me to tears.
Can you tell us a war story, please?!!!!!!! Nonetheless, you still served the country, and you deserve praise for that. Henry Johnson would be proud of you if he were around today!
Thank you for your service
I attended Officer Training School this past summer. In our dorms, there was a picture of Sgt. Johnson in all of the common rooms. At the end of the first week, the whole 24 TRS was gathered and the acting commandant (Maj Berkes) made a speech talking about how despite not being appreciated by his country, his officers, and his branch, his heroic actions saved the lives of so many allies. It reinforced the duty that all officers have to their enlisted. His subsequent life in the United States was unacceptable for any citizen, let alone a war hero. I am Air Force, but I hope to be half the Airman that Johnson was a soldier. If you are an NCO or Officer, remember, you could have a Henry Johnson in your unit. It is your job to cultivate that soldier/sailor/airman/marine into the best they can be and reward them for their actions. Thanks to all those serving and who have served!
As a black man, it kinda hurts to know that some of my ppl did things like this to help this country, only to come home and still deal with racism 😩
Aye... It's hard to think about how people back then even thought. A human is less of a human than another human. That was normal thinking.
