    Very well put, I hope all of us, including the govt can appreciate the negative impact of this substance, including miraa and other off-shelf psychotropic products. Let's curtail from both the supply and demand sides.

      My question is what exactly have the youth been doing before you decided to vilify veve and muguka? What record do you have of Mombasa youth doing great things before veve and muguka allegedly destroyed them? How comes you don't fight the real future k*llers like heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines etc? That is cheap and available in mombasa more than anywhere else in the country the same way you're fighting veve now?

    • @shazmeenkassam9012

      First, Mombasa youth have a lot of impact to the society... After leaving Mombasa, I was shocked that many youth around Kenya have no access to some of the facilities to enhance their talents like in Mombasa.. visit the hub and red cross society and see the impact of youth to the community.. among many other places... Visit haki Africa offices and spaces in Mombasa. It's unlike other counties.
      Second , you have to understand the duties and responsibilities of the county government being different from national government. There are some things county government can step in like "soft drugs" but when it comes to hard drugs that are actually even illegal right now, it takes more than county to fight it.

    I really feel bad when most of us know where the rain started beating us but we tend to like beating about the bush in fear of i don't know what,the problem if i may be asked,i would blame the government policy,during our old days,we wouldnt allowed to do shit things in school,because the teachers were very much strict on issues despline,come to the community,any elder was allowed to descpline anywhere you happen to misbehave,coming to our home was a no go zone for the misbehaving,in short we had no place to run,since the government gave the children much freedom and my dress my choice thing,thats where the problem began.

      How exactly was it neglected? Who's job is it to start all those export businesses you're talking about? Coz sio kazi ya serikali madam. Are there no banks in Mombasa? How exactly do you know if there isn't businesses like that already there? Do you have a statistic that can back up what you're saying or is it something you just feel?

    • @lenniefei6710
      @lenniefei6710 3 месяца назад

      @itsTheTruthTeller Yes, the government should be the one to at least facilitate industrialization not only in Mombasa but all across the country instead of promoting useless plants like mugukaa!!!! No one needs statistics for lack of investment in Mombasa. Just walk around, and all is there to see !!!!

    The drugs Mahmoud is describing is not Muguka, and Muguka/Miraa is not a stepping stone to those drugs... It's better for Coastal leaders to focus on the real issue instead of using Muguka as the escape goat...... All these issues Mahmoud is mentioning have nothing to do with Muguka

    If you are talking about the real effect of something then the list is endless,, for instance Alcohol it's not even a drug but it is legalised and teenagers access it so easily personally I began drinking as early as at the age of 9,, Bhang is part our balance diet, smoked morning to evening,, I don't know whats your obsession with Muguka as if it's the no.one Killer product,, Even food is harmful, get over it,, it's a religious and regional politics played here and we all know it very well.

      It affects youths all over the country but other leaders are not paying focus on the effects of such substances on youth. Truth be told. I've counseled youth from other areas as well facing these problems.. not only on chewable drugs but also alcohol and unprescribed depression pills
