Whitney came out there and shut it DOWN, from start to finish. The sound was messed up and she still Shut Shit Down; that's what you call a real, true singer. Her voice was so powerful that it over powered the technical difficulties.

Her head voice was also so beautiful, colorful, operatic, vibrant, and powerful too! She was definitely THE VOICE and this is the reason why. She also had so much conviction in her voice even with dance tracks like this one! This is classic Whitney! There will never be another Whitney! She's often imitated, but not duplicated.

iLuv Visa It was said back in the day when she first came out. Blacks weren't too receptive of other blacks who didn't sing like traditional black singers like the one's at Motown during the 60s, for example. Any black person singing a type of music that sounded like it was crafted for a certain audience(white people), they immediately dismissed them and thought the only way to show "soul" was by whining and crooning like a lot of old school singers used to do. And also doing excessive runs.

When my old Chorus teacher would use Whitney as an example of good singing, and the kids would look confused, I'd tell them to go to youtube and watch these old live performances. Then they'd come back and go, "WOW!!" This is actually my favorite version of her singing this song.

This was performed in 1986. I was born in 1990 and remember this song being played on the radio throughout my childhood. It's 2011 and I just rediscovered this after it was played on an oldies radio station. Been rockin' out to this for two days now. Live on, Whitney!

Oooh My God! What A Voice! I have No Words to describe how talented this woman was! Nobody will ever surpass her! Without a doubt! I mean, people sometimes say that Mariah Carey has some kind of “better” voice than W.H. and I just want to laugh out loud! Come on! Even M.C. said that Whitney Houston was a big influence in her career and even growing up so, that’s it. You can’t beat A Voice that came from the Angels and that was given by God himself. I miss you Whitney, we all do and may you Rest In Peace (this of course goes to your daughter too). May both of you be Happy with a capital “H”. Lots of Love ❤️ 💖⭐️💘💝💫
