    Lyrics:
How will I know if he really loves me?
I say a prayer with every heartbeat
I fall in love whenever we meet
I'm asking you what you know about these things
How will I know if he's thinking of me?
I try to phone, but I'm too shy (Can't speak)
Falling in love is so bittersweet
This love is strong, why do I feel weak?

Wow! We really do learn new things everyday. I was aware after watching the documentary that she had others write her music but wasn't aware this classic was offered to Mariah. Don't get me wrong Mariah has a beautiful voice and those two women together are AMAZING! HOWEVER Mariah couldn't sing this Iike WHITNEY

Agreed. I actually like this song (and video) the most of hers, even though "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" is more popular. This one has more of a distinctly 80s sound to it, though the lyrics were similar to 60s pop R&B style (quite a few 80s songs were late 50s to 60s influenced or straight up covers of songs from then). The latter was more polished and kind of maxed out, which became the norm for pop music from the 90s onward.

Nigel I am not white. Madonna was in Billboard's top 5 artists of the 80's; Prince, Hall and Oates, Billy Joel, Madonna and Michael Jackson; Whitney Houston was 29th. On the World Chart, Prince, Madonna, U2, Mj, Bruce Springsteen; Houston 16th. Whitney had one song in Billboard's top 100 songs of the 80's IWDWS at #95. Madonna had 16 top 5 singles on the Billboard hot 100, Houston had 7. Cased closed.

The 80s and 90s were like a 20 year long nonstop party. We were just to young, happy, and naive to realize it.

@@kconrad5893 hey, no one likes an optimist. No, really the times were good because the world was connected just enough without the internet and the 24 hour news cycle to tell us how bad everything was.
