      @@RareCactus yes Australian a got almost overrun with prickly pear ruining agricultural areas in the mainly eastern states. The cactablastis was introduced me d last century which controlled the infestation but it is still illegal to grow Opuntia except for ficus indica :-(

    Incredible habitat and flora! Amazing vistas and macro shots. Felt like I was in the field with you. It's wild how they grow around, into and directly on the sharp, jagged edges of the igneous rock. Makes one wonder about the symbiotic root endophytes that dissolve the minerals and share the nutrients. SO many ribs! Love this video so much. Is that a Sclerocactus @2:40 ? Thanks for creating this content, sharing your explorations and taking the glochids for us! Team fricii!

    i think i too find the aesthetic of L. fricii to be more endearing than L. williamsii. the habitat is so much more adorable too. i'd rather visit a fricii habitat if i were to do any eco-tourism.

    You're going to make an ageing man flat broke if you keep making these videos. lol Can you imagine having all that land to walk through every day? You'd never be bored watching it change throughout the years and ageing with you, then carrying on after you'd gone. I'm trying to get rid of some opuntia spines as I type, and I'm becoming more annoyed every second. lol

    • @RareCactus
      @RareCactus  Год назад +5

      Hahaha I know what you mean! And it’s funny you say that, because it’s my goal to eventually privatize the land in this video, and dedicate it to conservation. Protected by way of rifle 😇🤣
