Crab is light and fluffy and shredded. Lobster for lobster rolls is chunky and more dense and chewy. I'm watching this again because I'm hungry and it's 3:30 a.m.! I can be your go-to Seafood person or food historian. :-) I bet that smoked tofu would be awesome in a corn chowder mmm mmm good!

If you don't know yet (I didn't read the comments) if you rip the end or top of the celery vs cutting it off, it exposed the "spines" of the celery that you can just pull out. This eliminates the sticking in your teeth. My grandpa taught me that and my mind was blown!!
Don't know if anyone has said this but, a tip for celery. If you don't like the strings just use a carrot peeler before you use the knife and peel the outside of the celery. No more strings but yes for celery. It has changed my celery life. :)

I just recently committed to being vegetarian (like less than a year ago) so I can still vividly recall what real crab rolls taste like and these are actually super close. I couldn't find smoked tofu so I pressed and baked some extra firm tofu and it shredded pretty decently. I'm definitely going to make this again.

Hi! The tahini I buy from supermarkets are very often bitter (not always though), and sometimes very bitter. I checked the internet and it's supposed to be "normal" but how is that sometimes they are not bitter?
I would just notice my tongue get really itchy every time i ate it raw haha. Now I just try to limit how much I eat or I get that itchy feeling XD But if it's cooked its fine!

Hellman’s makes a vegan mayo? I’ll have to keep an eye out for that although Sir Kensington has a new one with avocado oil and aquafaba that I’m still trying to find. They have had one with avocado oil but with egg yolks, and one with sunflower oil and aquafaba.
Oh I had no idea Sir Kensington made non-vegan products, I've always seen their fabanaise in my friends' grocery hauls and assumed all their stuff was vegan. Yeah Hellman's came out with a vegan mayo after trying to sue Just Mayo lulz. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, I guess.

Other people will put onion and celery and pretty much the same with lobster rolls. No they are not on hoagie rolls lobster rolls and crab rolls are served in a top split hot dog bun.! You don't get them on anything else but that in Maine.

Pro top. Use a veggie peeler on celery and it's less stringy and more palatable.

You could totally swap it out with avocado. It would impact the flavour obviously but still would be a creamy addition thats kind of a glue haha.
Can you press tofu to the shreddable texture?
Some other people have pressed and then baked it to dry it out a bit more, but you may need to experiment :)

I usually eat it by 3 days haha. Health and safety wise, probably 2-3 days, but for me personally I would eat it until it started to smell funky lol.
