I finally was able to find this type of baked tofu and OMG!!! It’s SO good!!!!! I made some sushi hand rolls and regular sushi rolls and it’s so tasty and surprisingly similar to crab salad. So surprised and so good!

I am a new subscriber and have watched a few videos now, I have to say I do like the relaxed approach to some videos, as well as the more planned videos. I have definitely been enjoying Ben's handiwork behind the camera. I, and my boyfriend, have been plant based for a year now but are always looking for tips and tricks to help us in out, and I love any recipe that I can feed an omni, especially family and friends, to convince them that they can eat this way (even if only at our house) and our food can be pretty darn tasty! Yes more sushi videos! I went to a new sushi place in Indianapolis and had a vegan roll called the 'cowgirl' that tasted legit like a cheeseburger, it even had a pickle piece in the middle. I love creative veggie rolls! And can't wait to make this one.

Sushi is one of my favorite foods, so it was one of the first things I tackled when going vegan. I couldn't go without, so I had to make it work. This roll is so good! And the tofu "crab" works great in sandwiches as well.

Monson Made This Aw sad you couldn’t get in! They do have a waitlist function on Yelp now but I’m not sure if they open it on weekends (I’ve also waited 2-3 hours on weekends). When we went on a Friday in Jan, we still waited about 2.5 hours on the virtual waitlist haha, but it was worth it!
Monson Made This and yes I’d say that your crab recipe tasted EXACTLY like shizen’s!! Can’t wait to share with this with all my friends, this was the ONE sushi ingredient I’ve always wanted to replicate but didn’t know how 😭 Btw I recommend getting pickled daikon (or making it) for your sushis! There are both Chinese and Japanese versions in grocery stores, both are delicious I’m also going to marinate oyster mushrooms for my next sushi night. My friend and I wrote down every ingredient and sauce in the Shizen rolls so that we can replicate it 😂let me know if you want me to send them to you!
We go to Thai restaurant that does sushi and we've become friends with one of the owners. She's also one of the sushi chefs. Anyway, she knows we're vegetarian and she's tried different ideas of sushi with us and our favorite is a seaweed roll. It's pretty much a cucumber maki with seaweed salad on top vs avocado and topped with eel sauce and tempura crumbs. OMGosh it's so yummy.

Thank you. I find that the flavors are inconsistently available. Sometimes there are a ton of one flavor, and other times there are a variety. Looks great bro! Ive been experimenting myself with vegan sushi being a former seafood sushi lover. The flavors you can get from mixing different vegetables and spices etc is awesome. I'm going to try this one as I have plenty of Veganaise mayo lol

Is it possible to cut without plastic wrap? I have a concern for micro plastics entering the roll when sliced this way.

I haven't tried tempura yet, but it's on the list. Before going vegan, I loved shrimp tempura rolls. I would love to try to veganize those.

Such an awesome idea! I love sushi and am always trying different recipes. I loved the texture and the flavor was amazing! I could only find baked teriyaki tofu but it still turned out great 🙂 thank you so much
Thank you. I find that the flavors are inconsistently available. Sometimes there are a ton of one flavor, and other times there are a variety. But yeah, I've made it with the teriyaki flavor as well, and I wasn't mad about it. Thank you for watching and it means a lot that you took the time to give me some feedback!
