Good review. I’m coming over from using RandMcnally since 2010. I had the RM 750 and after a year and a half it would no longer connect to satellite even after all the so called tech support hacks. So I have a 500.00 paper weight because since Covid RM quit fixing they’re gos and they don’t even provide a vendor list. So I picked up this 710. The only thing I’d like to see them change mainly is… info on the map. I want to see the city I’m currently in. The direction the time and miles left to destination all at the same time. They completely missed the train on this. That said all the other feature blow RM out of the water. And guess what Garmin will fix your gps and have vendor locations. Forget RandMcnally I’m done with them. 😡
I use Garmin only because I can send locations from Google Maps through their navigation applications and it is fast (and work), which I couldn't do in TomTom. Generally, I wonder why we pay so much money, changing or personalizing most of the settings or changing their details is impossible. It's not perfect equipment, but it will work. It is worth checking whether the designated route is suitable, often when entering weight limits, the navigation chooses a route that is basically impossible to drive
I subscribed to your Channel cuz you explain everything pretty easy and there where you did it it wasn't why fast for me about to steal good it's a good video that shows how much this GPS comes with
Just an FYI, but it is pronounced Dezl with a long "E". That's why there's a line over the letter "e". Like the word "Diesel" since all trucks use Diesel fuel.
OTR series the best… why DF i can’t see truckstops along route past 45ish results? CA to FL … i want to see EVERY truckstop along route… u know, what my Dezl 780 does…. New OTR series.. pretty.. updated visuals.. but basic simple function that’s pretty much the point of a trucking gps .. completely missing… wasted $600
north up id say my garmin displays it upside down north is south i didnt know that. oh yea its real confusing google maps does it to me too i need my garmin back.
I've used sat navs in late 2000 and I'm out of date. I'm a coach driver will this sat nav work for me?? I'm currently driving a 23 plate Neoplan Tourliner Tri Axle. Can I customise this sat nav to work for me I'm in the UK.
Yes it’s great equipment for truck drivers. I will tell you from my experience, Ive been driving like for 2 years and only once it drove me to route with low bridge. So i would say out of my 71 trips so far, it has been accurate for 70 trips. Do not completely rely on it, always look for the posted signs on the road.
It drove me through a low bridge just two days ago. It was my tutor's garmin so I can't play with it. But I would use atlas document and build a database of roads to avoid in the avoid function. I do not know yet if it would work. It would be helpful if they allowed the users community to add such information and give options to activate it or not.
Yes, same info, different size. My understanding is the 610 710 and 810 have the same info. 510 doesn't have quite the same info and of course there's an inch difference on each size
i just bought this model. still learning the in's and out's. is the anyway i can COMPLETELY remove the "popular routes" icon that's in the way on the right side?

I’ve been using garmin for 10+ years OTR what does being towed have to do with trusting a garmin? Or do you mean your garmin wasn’t updated and you drove somewhere you aren’t supposed to because you don’t know what you are doing?
That’s on you dude. That’s completely your fault. If you got into a situation because you trusted a GPS completely without cross referencing satellite photos, street view, and a road atlas, that’s your fault.
my garming 710 is so bad the worst gps ever made it literally takes you the ongest routes and doesnt even recognize the inner harbor tunnels in baltimore theres many similar instances but its a pos pisses me off daily i use my phone and if it says no trucks i just turn the next road

Gotcha, thank you my friend
Ughhh I’m glad I wasn’t the only one yelling at a video. Yes. A “long “E”. dēzl

Hi I purchased Garmin GPS DESZL OTR 710 and now it's give me error , can not calculate route, so please can u guide
great review, much appreciated
Does these come with dash cam as well?
Hi, can you add to avoid for example the george Washington bridge to go to or pass new york without the gps making you pass to it??
For max single axel weight I can only enter one number so do I leave that blank
It’s pronounced dee zul, like the fuel we use! Notice the slash mark above the E.
I’m assuming this can also be used in a light duty box truck.

How do I avoid tolls the old one had a setting I don't see it on this one
It has that feature.
Rewatch, I can’t remember off hand what timestamp but it i there
This will help to avoid low bridges correct? This is what i am looking for specifically ..?
Im looking for confirmation on this as well. Ive heard this thing will send you under low bridges even if you have it set to be higher
It does but never ever rely completely on any gps systems ,be smart and use road atlas in combination with your gps

Who here remembers when alls we had was a map book and an ash trey
😂
How do you put it into satellite view
It’s does show low bridges ?
Show how to avoid tolls
Anyone can tell about 719 with cam? Worths the money
Is the otr 610 and the 710 the same except for the size?
No. im pretty sure the 710 is bigger.

Do you need WiFi for it to work?
No, but its good to update the maps
Can you use it in a car?
Yes
How to update this thing
This gps can show you any city and state you get into
Really wish they had where you could put in permit routes by permit number
that would be helpful.
@TruckerCurtis yeah I haul steel I would buy one in a heartbeat
Why does mine constantly lose signal? Everything’s up to date it’s just really annoying.
Are you able to import location destinations from a computer?
not 100% sure, never tried.
@@TruckerCurtis Thank you for the quick response. I really enjoyed your review.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Dezel 😂 it’s dezl like diesel

Paid 4000$ for towing after using Garmin OTR. Guys do not trust Garmin is not for truckers.

@@marqueswilsonn Dude then use it nobody against it. It is free country. I just share our company experience with terrible Garmin.
I found it to be horrible in Canada
I disagree, Rand McNally is king but good review.
Bull Shit! I had a Rand and it sucked beyond sucked! Got a Garmin, never had one problem!
@@philipdru9290I agree with you. Garmin is much better.

The otr 1000 is the best gps.
