@@BavarianM - you're not fitting a fullsize 2.5" SSD and an NVME at the same time. The 2.5" drive will take the space that the NVME occupies. You CAN put a 2242 m.2 SATA drive in the WWAN slot, and you CAN put a 2230/2242 m.2 SATA card in the 2.5" spot with an m.2/2.5" SATA half-card and velcro/tape it in place. With a half-card adapter, it won't overlap the NVME slot. If the system didn't start with a 2.5" drive, you'll have to get the Dell cable for it. Someone has a website up about the install, BUT he notes that you can't put both in until you have a 4-core CPU. I haven't seen anyone else verify if ONLY quad-core CPU systems will work, I might buy the cable and half-card adapter some day to see if it will work in my i7 dual-core 5580. And you can't add anything in the 2.5" spot if you have the 92Wh battery, as it fills that space.
Yeah that's just dumb and frustrating. Enough space but no connectors. You have to remove the SATA M.2... and SATA M.2 is quite expensive comparing to a HDD. You use the HDD for storage for heaven sake! SSD for programs to run smoothly.

I have the same one, do you know how many lane does the Thunderbold has? I want to add an external GPU. The 940Mx is not trash but I could be better with a 1070 or higher

Thank you for this description! I bought mine around 2017. I added RAM and Internet is still slow. Do I need to update the NIC card? What do you suggest?
My opinion is that Lenovo is much better. I have a personal Lenovo ThinkPad V310-IKB which i upgraded to 12 GB RAM and also could have both SATA HDD and an M.2 SSD inside. I have a Dell 5580 from work, i ran some simulations on both. Even if the Lenovo takes a bit more time due to 4 GB RAM less, i can even keep it near my bed during the night (no noise), whereas the Dell i took it in another room and still had to close the door in order not to hear its fans. I eventually stopped the simulation overnight due to excessive heat up. The Lenovo does not heat up. Dell brags with their cooling system but it is actually good for nothing.
I like the XPs that is a better model, this is more for office used.Thank you for your comments and please don't forget to subscribe if you have't already.
@@johannesvandemerwe No connectors for SATA SSD or HDD in a motherboard with space for it? @@claudiaborzea1386 Although I am a Dell fan since many years (of the older models) I am also getting tired about the things you mention. Thank you for the review. Have always run Latitudes and feel it's time to upgrade from my current model
Solid laptop for work environment. Love they tactile keyboard. My only complaint is that the keyboard is not backlit.
It is backlit
My 5580 is backlit
I guess it's a optional extra.

3:44 - there is no place for "additional" hard drive. You can mount either M.2 or SATA drive, not both.
No additional slot for M.2 sorry
Also that is NOT a mini usb, it is a Kensington lock slot.
Then why my 5580 a m2 and a Sata at the same time ? 🤔

Disabling the keyboard light and other running applications it could run from 2-2 1/2 hours I never got to 3 houses on any computer so far.
Dell became bloody third class company
This sounds like a remark without an explanation. Like this not very useful. At least have some balls to tell why that is.
