Lucky you! I have the same model on the way but i was told it is not charging and working only from battery so we`ll see what`s the problem soon. Thank you for nice video!
@@fairrepair_en Laptop arrived today and no wonder that it is not working from charger - BQ chip and PQ904 and 905 are missing...and i didn`t find schematics for CDM80 LA-E091P Rev:2.0 online (only E151P is available)
Had a dell last week, resolved the issue the same way but then it came back a second time the next day with same issue, same resolution the 2nd time - I hope I don't see it back a third time!
Hi Mike frozen bios, no fun for you but you have points of reference regarding the other board, as always i joy the video , like it when you have a battle on you hands and you are successfully in complete the repair .regards Jim
I have a 5580, and I constantly (several times a year so far) have to change ram sticks, sometimes run just 8 instead of 16. is this just a ram issue and can it be fixed hardware wise? or is it a failing issue in the mainboard? and is that a price worthy repair?
Afaik all Dell can work from bench top PSU, but since PSID line will be missing then, the System will be heavily limited. I have a special tip for Dell Systems which I can connect with the PSU, but it does work only up to 90 Watts. Best regards

Sounds like you'll have some fun with the PD- and charging circuit. But thanks! :)

Rabbit hole. Can be dying memory controller inside of the CPU too.
or cold solder joint at the RAM connector. Just a few examples. Hard to troubleshoot.
i thought all dell laptop need an original charger. So there are some dell laptop that can work with bench psu

Do not use an analog multimeter
To fix
Pls don't smoke - or cut it out. Thanks in advance!
I was not aware that it could bother anyone if I used my e-cigarette from time to time. :)
I will adjust my videos in the future.
