This is the first song I heard from Nightwish when I was young. I immediately fell in love with Nightwish, and especially Tarja. Hearing Tarja sing this makes me emotional every time. You should definitely listen to her sing this live, she is bloody amazing!
Tarja herself said her singing technique wasn't perfect here, as she was quite young, but boy do I love it, her voice is so dark and pure and warm, just so so lovely ❣ It gives this song such a melancholic, magical feeling and for me that's how I like it best. As you said, Floor's voice is a bit brighter and more "modern", maybe? So it's a different atmosphere and I tend to like the more mystical with Tarja better❣ also TAree-a is the right way to pronounce her name, you said it perfectly! :) Thank you for the reaction!
There are many wonderful versions of sleeping sun to enjoy, featuring Tarja or Floor. Tarja was very young on this reaction and has developed a lot as a vocalist since then and especially so since her departure from Nightwish. Salut! :) Oui, ça se prononce bien "Taria", et le compositeur est Tuomas Holopainen. Pianiste à l'origine, passé ensuite sur synthé, il a joué dans plusieurs groupes, puis, un soir, devant un feu de camp, il a décidé qu'il créerait son propre groupe pour composer et écrire ses propres chansons... et ça a bien marché je crois. 😄 Je connais Nightwish depuis quasiment leurs débuts, et cette chanson reste pour moi une chanson de Tarja, même si Floor est formidable. Comme diraient certains, Tarja est une chanteuse d'opéra qui fait du Metal mais Floor est une chanteuse de Metal qui fait de l'opéra. D'où une certaine différence entre les deux. 😁 Bonne journée ! 😉

I'll always recommend Tarja live. She does have another version of this with Steve n Seagulls. It's a very upbeat Bluegrass/polka version
