One of my favorites from the Well-Tempered Clavier, beautifully performed. 😎🎹 0:00 Prelude 3:41 Fugue Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) The Well-Tempered Clavier, Bk. 2 Prelude & Fugue in F Minor, *BWV 881*
No challenging this beautifully balanced, intellligent mastery, the love and understanding of JS Bach's brilliance is touching,. Thanks, maestro! ( I keep on trying, I must, after hearing your version, Bach forever, everywhere )
I always was and still am, a great admirer of Glenn Gould. But Piotr Anderszewski has definitely opened for me a different way to listen to Bach's piano pieces. Everything in this is unique, the phrasing, the sound, the touch. May he be praised for these miraculous interpretations, in mankind I trust :-) ...
@@everoshevsky8026 Maybe more accurate Bach than Glenn but isn't interpretation key to music. I play John Dowland very badly but I'm not the first and certainly won't be the last.
Wow! I have never heard the repeats ornamented the way you do and my heart just soared!! Thank you. I could hear every single note with clarity and beauty. You made this piece new to me! Thank you. Thank you.
bravo, bravo, bravo . that is a stunning performance. so much deep sense for the details, awsome dynamics plus such a high level of musicality of course. ❤ very inspiring . thank you .
Beautiful restrained legato style and delicious ornamentation in the repeats, also with clarity in the parts - especially the inner voices in the prelude.
I thought that I would never find anyone like Glen Gould that breith, beats, bounce the beats as him but you do, with more delicate touch, no so agressive and excited as Mr Glenn but in your more relax version you have also Glenn´s Soul, so big thanks for your performance, it makes me enormously happy :)
Piotr brings a wonderful sense of musicality and a lighthearted tone to his rendering of this pair from Book 2 -- something I think Bach himself would have approved and enjoyed hearing. Too often Bach solo instrumental works get played with a sense of revered boredom. Which I think neglects the playfulness in Bach's writing that at times imbues pieces in minor keys as well, like the prelude and fugue here..
Great sound, great performance but i think that the video should’ve shown only hands and the piano. The attention of the viewer is more focused on the pianist instead of the music, and that come at the expense of the whole performance. If you close you’re eyes that’s a stunning and blowing perfomance, near perfection, but if you try to watch the video and to listen at the same time, it loose all the magic
I don't think I know of anyone who plays the fugue at a not-very-fast pace, except Friedrich Gulda. I'd be very interested to know if you know of any others.
Instantly fell in love with this piece.
The most organic version of this f minor prelude and fugue i know. Polyphonic lines as never revealed before. World class.

So clean and so much understanding - so integrated - loved the ornamentation on repeats
Where does this warmth come from when I listen to music like this? It comes from my soul embracing the spirit of Johann Sebastian Bach....
Thank you for your comment I TOTALLY share that feeling
One of the best Bach ever done⚜️
Completely agree

Simply can't stop listening.. Such beauty and depth.. 🌷
De simple nada
Extremely well played! I guess that is one of the best performances in all the history of this prelude and fugue!
Exceptional. Piotr breathes music, understands the essence and projects his soul to all listeners.

Very soothing Bach music YOU ARE A GREAT PIANIST.VERY GOOD.THANK YOU.

The only good thing about my day today, very much appreciated.
3:42 is where the fugue starts
Bravo! Very clean and even! ❤
MAESTRO YOU ARE GREAT THX VERY MUCH SHARING THIS AWESOME PERFORMANCE WE WANT MORE

Sehr gut gespielt.

Lightly played at perfect tempi.

So good, so corect!!! 💗 SO beautiful... So PERFECT!!!!!

Somptueux !!
This is my favourite prelude and fugue from Bach. ❤ I'm piano player too.
Me encantó

💜
👏👏👏👏
❤️🙏❤️
i love this piece but damn is it going to give me carpal tunnel from playing it
I understand you, I'm currently learning it. It is quite demanding, especially in a fast tempo, even with very good fingering.

Rivals the great Rosalind Tureck, whose WTC I grew up with in the 1960s.
3:42
І prefer this interpretation to Richter's or even to Gould's.
Ignore this

The fugue should sound not strict, but fussy, that was the idea!

Does he has a train or something to catch? Sorry but i had to run to catch the fugue. Rushing is unmusical. Try E. Fischer for this fugue.

Glenn who?
Why so aggressive in this charming fugue?
I don't think I know of anyone who plays the fugue at a not-very-fast pace, except Friedrich Gulda. I'd be very interested to know if you know of any others.
Me!
Maybe because this fugue does have “aggressive” characteristics to it?
It was pretty good, I guess.
