My high school gym teacher was the best person, she also coached girls basketball. Unfortunately she died of cancer years ago. RIP Mrs. Patricia Heffner
My room used to be in the corner of one of our teaching pods and there was a planter with a tree in it that would bloom in the spring...full of flowers and it smelled great, but then came...the bees. They would get into my room by flying in and also crawling under the door, which of course had a bad seal. You would think there were B-52 bombers laden with hydrogen bombs flying around the room; the students would lose their minds and pandemonium ensued.
I feel so old, I remember getting those red balls chucked at me during dodgeball. In high school and middle school you had to go swimming for almost 4 wks. As a teenager girl, I would rather have those dodgeballs knock me on my butt than having to wear a bathing suit in front of freshman boys. We had one coach that had a rule, if we could beat her to the back tennis courts we wouldn’t have to run, but she would power walk her ass off to make us end up jogging. I get changing with the times, but it’s gotten ridiculous. When I played softball as a teen in the early 2000s we wore sliders and most helmets had a cage on the front (gotta protect them braces from getting ruined). Now, the players in the field are wearing face protection. Just catch the ball, you don’t need a face mask for 1st base! It’s just insane.
Thank you for bringing in a PE teacher! We are misunderstood as professionals. I'd love to see some more "special area" teachers on the podcast! You are all fantastic and I appreciate all that you share 😎😎 KC - that is a sad, sad whistle...
The only way they could make state testing MORE stressful for the kids is if they added a studio audience and Jeopardy music😂 They really need to chill out on the pressure for tests!!
Hey, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you guys giving us insight into the world of public education. I have a 4-year-old that is coming up on starting school and me and my wife have been considering homeschooling for her. I know it is a bit out of your field of expertise but am very curious as to what your perspective is on homeschooling/other alternatives after working in the public field. Thanks, and I appreciate all you guys do.
Literally our PE teacher sits in his damn chair all day. He came from Gen Ed (elementary) two years ago. I would love to see Yall continue the trend on special areas tho! I teach elementary music and we got some damn stories 😂😂😅
Elementary school sports instructor here from an outside company: honestly it’s easy to be a mediocre pe teacher for sure BUT if you actually put your heart into the job it is challenging 1. You have to be very charismatic and positive throughout the entire session to get the kids to continue playing and not all drop off like flies ESPECIALLY FOR TK AND K 2. You aren’t just standing again especially for tk and k you have to actually join the game to control the pacing and make sure no tears come out from losing so you might have to be 1 v everyone to take all the Ls 3. You have to set up all the equipment and clean up 4. No ac no sitting, especially during summer we are out there working out for a 6 hour shift and we have to again keep the kids engaged at all times 5. You have to be very attentive as injuries can occur at any moment Yes teaching has more paper work and planning BUT being a sports education teacher that ACTUALLY wants to make a difference and get the kids to look forward to everyone of their sessions take ALOT of work that regular teachers don’t need to do. You have a lesson plan that the kids have to follow regardless of whether they are engaged or not. You have quiet activities where they are doing individual work and you get to sit for a while and work on other things. You don’t have to worry about injuries or scuffs breaking out between students and you get to sit in a nice ac room all year round.
Bees effectively hibernate. They don't ACTUALLY, they just all huddle together inside the hive all winter, drinking stores of honey, but they shelter in place.
Not sure where you guys go to get haircuts but here in my area the guys pay 15 and the women pay 20 or 25 depends on what you want done. Fin a beauty school and you can get a hair cut for like 8 to 10 dollars. and they do a great job.
My high school shipped the ceramics teacher and a bio teacher who was married. Bio teacher eventually divorced his wife and guess who he's dating now....the ceramics teacher
Have to laugh at the PE teachers being hot! Our high school kids actually got graded on how fast they ran the mile. At parent/teacher I was shocked! There was no way in hell the PE teacher my granddaughter could have run, never mind running the mile!
So someone finally had to separate Bri and KC at the staff meeting 😂😂
You think that’ll help? 😅😂
Bri’s laugh gets me through the day, it’s like the happiest laugh.
Whistle just sounds like someone who can’t whistle 😂
Can there be an episode about music teachers and the struggles they have to deal with? Love you guys! 😊
Yes! Omg! Lol

41:04 as a music teacher, I was once asked by a colleague if I got paid the same as them. I also had to confirm that I had to do lesson plans too.

In the whirlwind of sixth-grade Math instruction, my colleagues, like a tempest, are ceaselessly in motion.
I wait all week for the podcast
To be fair in middle school my theater arts teacher was dating the boys pe teacher. We even helped him propose to her

How cool y'all are coming to Santa Rosa!!! 🙏🏾
It's more like bees only sting in self defense and they die because it basically rips their body in half.
We heard the "cricket " didn't sound like a cricket 😅
I had an angry art teacher in elementary school 😊

Fellow Illinois State Redbird Teacher here! ❤️🤍
I pride myself in being the multi-faceted PE teacher! 😁
Nothing wrong with a ford fiesta.. that's the party car!😊

My sister in law was a PE teacher and now is a principal
I have a suggestion for the next video: what about a music teacher edition? Elementary middle or high school.

Is KC teaching again now?
Those underwear are EXPENSIVE!
