PREACH! I just resigned today. I’m done after 27 years of crap. I’m 51 with lots of years left to work. But I can’t see myself back in the classroom with bossy administration
I LOVE Bri’s policy about if you don’t like someone personally there is no need for them to know in a professional context. Simply no need to get into any of that because how does that benefit the larger system (or even the individuals involved)!! 👍🏻
I was an ESL para for 8 yrs, and I had two teachers that HATED my guts all because I had a relationship with the ESL students. One teacher threw a pencil across the classroom because she thought I was taking over her class. The other teacher thought I was her maid and she leave to “talk to the ESL lead” (cough) bullshit. I am now an AP secretary.
The unofficial parking spot thing is so true. I was out of work due to a car accident since January and I had a parent tell me close to the end of the year that no one ever parked in my spot. Not gonna lie, it gives me a little bit of joy.
I really don’t understand why they do this! I was a state tested subject too but I always tried to get them to come in after school or during lunch like we can work and eat together. There were very few times I had to pull a kid from another class and I always asked the teacher if it was okay first.😭
I had an older teacher who was beefing with me. She called me a child because I said I didn’t really like reading nonfiction (we are both English teachers), she got upset I knew more about science than her(we had a pd where we were answering questions and I could answer them while she struggled), and she tried to compete with me over test scores and got upset when my students did better than hers 😂
when i was in 6th grade , my classes were held in my towns old high school bc the middle school was being remodeled. we had a long term sub for my math class who had us sit for 5 mins because everyone else was being disrespectful and loud. she didn’t tell the crossing guard, who wasn’t pleased with the subs choice
Everyone... well Almost everyone knows about the official unofficial assigned seat/parking spot rule!! And then that one person comes along and throws off the WHOLE VIBE OF EVERYTHINGGGGGGG... I hate it
4:48 I also do not know geography... I got chem and lit down pat, tho 31:36 I had block scheduling Classes were 80 mins. Totally prepared me for college. I could not imagine having class for only 45 minutes... what would we have even been able to go through...
I have had to hoard information sometimes because the other person was a mooch. I dont mind helping/ sharing, but it became a what are you doing today at the start of the workday. Now if you don't do your job. I cannot share endlessly.
I've been teaching IB elementary for 10 years, there is NO curriculum, I need to create it each year, and I teach all subjects. We need to meeting each week for 3 hours, what a waste of time. We get in trouble for giving worksheets. IB teachers really have a hard time working together, but that is our whole ideology.
The only time I’ve seen my teachers hold students is if they have a few questions left on a quiz or test I understand how it can affect but from what I’ve seen if it is gonna take to long they will just let the kid if it’s allowed to finish the next day
My sister is a teacher. One of the teachers that was retiring she called a name on Snapchat. That Snapchat got sent to the school. my sister is still teaching. She has never popped off about anyone on snap chat.
Bri girl, I laughed so hard that every episode I've watched has you talking about bras It was a daily thomh growing up that grandma took her bra off in the afternoon and chucked it on the bsvk seat driving home A few friends got her bra on them
Grades are not a reflection of your knowledge. Grades just show you how obedient and how good someone is at studying. Also school does not set you up for the rest of your life. It actually probably does the complete opposite.
i am a substitute teacher and a assistant teacher with no teacher degree just adiploma a TA. said i was less qualified didn't like me. i am not qualifed no doubt but if i wasnt why do i have a better chance of getting a head teacher job at that school make more than you and you had to be let go from the site and sent to another site. i said you had to be transfered from two schools and im not qualified. not saying i am some great teacher but that has never happened to me and she said it to the director and the director got annoyed at her. i wanted to tell her i dont like you. dont be mad at me you suck. was my first year as a TA and just startewd so i dont know what to do. i wanted to be nice and not say what i wanted to say

37:14 I’m *DEAD!* “You’re going to get up to heaven & there’s going to be cones in your spot.” 😂😂😂
I lost it. 😂
I feel like Devin is the only one who can keep up with KC’s humor. I love the dynamic of this trio
And KC just always has Bri in stitches 😂

Besides church, this is now my favorite part of Sunday.
16:55 I totally agree! We all need to be professional. You don’t have to be best friends.
Garrett A. Morgan invented the traffic signal AND the gas mask, which was very helpful during WWI.
The saying is: This is a A B conversation so C yo way out 'fo D jumps over E and F's you up like a G
OH. Okay. That’s the extended version. Never heard that before.
This is it! People look at me like I'm losing it when I say this 😂
Genius

The BEST crew to host TOD. 🙌🏽
That was a problem at my school too (teachers writing kids a pass to my class because "their class was more important"). WAS a problem...b/c I quit
I've been gone for awhile and love the current cast for the podcast glad to see bri back
I listen to your podcast every Monday, while inputting attendance for the school.
I used to teach MS/HS choir.
The amount of times kids were late because they were coming from a “State tested subject” was infuriating.
I really don’t understand why they do this! I was a state tested subject too but I always tried to get them to come in after school or during lunch like we can work and eat together. I’m not a teacher but know love your content! I’m laughing thinking about my schooling experience 😂
thank you for always blessing me with a sunday podcast. it’s much needed.
You guys are so great! The stuff you guys talk about are so right on!!
I really love when I see y'all together ❤️

Yes, Devin is back!
I think they said he’d be here for 4 episodes!

Fav trio for sure!!!❤❤❤

My son's vice principal used to use a decible reader at lunch and he would punish the kids if it got above a certain level.
I agree, but if someone starts $hit with me- either directly or indirectly- it’s on.
Devin is a history teacher. Of course he knows everything!

i love this trio, but let eachother finish a sentence please!!!!
Is anyone on the panel ever substitute teacher?? How is the long term pay rate calculated?
Is Gabe ever coming back to the podcast?
Even tho im named after a state it still feels weird to hear my name be said during a video or podcast 😂
Don Miguel Ruiz' book is brilliant!
My sister is a teacher. One of the teachers that was retiring she called a name on Snapchat. That Snapchat got sent to the school. my sister is still teaching. She has never popped off about anyone on snap chat.
Why is Fort Worth listed as a state?
Because Texas is another country 😂
I need a show in Boise Idaho for 2025.
