This turned out absolutely gorgeous! Sometimes thinking outside the box is great. Using the cat ears was a fantastic idea. I am new to mixed media and crafting in general, I never would have thought about ears for wings. The second page is so beautiful after the darkness was taken away.

I enjoyed watching and listening to your process as much as seeing the outcome! I love the way you think things out and then laugh at yourself (in a good way) when it comes out a bit differently than you expected. I do find as I watch your videos that I am still getting used to the layering that you do. Sometimes it seems a great deal of work to make the base...like in this you had three layers of gesso and paint and then the alcohol...but by the end only a small amount shows. Yet it makes sense with the final product! Thank you again for taking us along with you. :)

Oh, 'yes', that is really fun. I get that with the gluing down & pulling it off, repeat, repeat. I did that with the last one I posted in the village where she looks like she's levitating. I was having fun but everything I put in place for the head just wasn't working. Ended up with so much glue and paint on my fingers, but I'm so glad I removed the banana peel head. LOL. It's all part of the process. I think that's a great idea with the classes, too, and you do have to pay the bills. Hugs and tfs

Have taking some classes there. There are often free ones so you can get a taste of what you are going learn, which help the person decide if they want to invest money in it. Too, I like it because it is usually very reasonably priced.
I guess having been a computer tech for many years (honestly, since the Internet went mainstream) I have been exposed to a good many online and technological driven things. No fear, there. I love technology, love problem solving, and love exploring. AND, I love learning and being inspired by you, my dear!
I’m just wondering, maybe if we spray the black gesso part with a little water first then put the white on, maybe because the acrylic will be floating on top of the water the alcohol will do it’s thing… That might be something to test, a good experiment.... I think ima try that.🤔
as i look back at what i did...i think the paint was good but i put tooooooo much on...i think it was just to thick for the alcohol to do its thing...just a hindsight thought! xo see you on the table...

Hudson “ C’mon mom lets go to bed!” Lol, my dogs do that to me every night while I’m arting ha ha. So my altered book pulled from the spine while I was making the cover and happens to be the first spread, I used glued on muslin to reattach, so I basically have to redo those 2 pages to hide the fabric huh? Hi LorriMarie. I was wondering why you use nice ephemera to do the underpants layers if they aren't going to show. I'm assuming that the answer is just to create texture where they overlap and the edges of the papers show through the other layers. I have a suggestion. I'm an art teacher, and I'm always trying to find ways to reuse all the extra copies and mistake copies that teachers have. I always place a donation box in the copy room for collecting them. The ones that are blank on the back, we use in my class for rough draft work, making templates, etc. You could give those worksheets a new home and save your really cool ephemera for when it will be seen. Just a thought, if you have any teacher friends who could help you gather and reuse. I hate knowing trees have to die for all the paper that goes unused. Thanks for sharing all your creativity!

I love that white girl and sometimes less is more. She carries the page herself. I’m going to do a children’s book as mine tend to be a little edgier. I bought tw o books of paper dolls, one gothic, but they just don’t fit in my book. Have. You thought of doing a book just for children? More pink and more fairy tails ?
these dolls are from a magazine called Haute Dolls...unfortunately this magazine is no longer in print. i found a couple at a used book store in arizona...a lucky find...you can find some on ebay but of course...some are better than others...i hope that answers your question michelene..go create, go play, go have fun!!!

How do you make the alcohol 91%? Also can you show how to copy/print images on acetate, sheet music, wallpaper? Im not sure how to do that. Really great job persevering with those backgrounds!
okay tracie....let me see if i can answer your questions....you can purchase 91% alcohol...that was the easy one to answer...lol....there are acetate sheets for ink jet printers and also for laser printers...so you put the acetate sheet, of the music paper, or the wall paper in the feed area of your printer....put the image that you are going to copy onto the scanner plate of the printer (where you place things you want to copy) and then hit copy....the 'assorted' papers will run through the printer and the image will be copied on the acetate, music paper...etc...i hope that helps...if not...ask again...thank you! see you on the table tracie!!!

On the page you made with the window, you can see part of the word Fearless from the next page. I would put a cardboard banner across the window in that position so it says something different when you’re looking through the window then you turn the page and see fearless. I’ll have to keep a look out for Hudson. I’d love to see his own little segment in your videos. Like, Hudson’s Hint of the Day #1... Hudson says ‘Don’t eat mod podge’ that would make a cute postcard actually lol

I enjoyed watching and listening to your process as much as seeing the outcome! I love the way you think things out and then laugh at yourself (in a good way) when it comes out a bit differently than you expected.
I do find as I watch your videos that I am still getting used to the layering that you do. Sometimes it seems a great deal of work to make the base...like in this you had three layers of gesso and paint and then the alcohol...but by the end only a small amount shows. Yet it makes sense with the final product!

Oh, 'yes', that is really fun. I get that with the gluing down & pulling it off, repeat, repeat. I did that with the last one I posted in the village where she looks like she's levitating. I was having fun but everything I put in place for the head just wasn't working. Ended up with so much glue and paint on my fingers, but I'm so glad I removed the banana peel head. LOL. It's all part of the process. I think that's a great idea with the classes, too, and you do have to pay the bills. Hugs and tfs

Have taking some classes there. There are often free ones so you can get a taste of what you are going learn, which help the person decide if they want to invest money in it. Too, I like it because it is usually very reasonably priced.
I guess having been a computer tech for many years (honestly, since the Internet went mainstream) I have been exposed to a good many online and technological driven things. No fear, there. I love technology, love problem solving, and love exploring. AND, I love learning and being inspired by you, my dear!
I’m just wondering, maybe if we spray the black gesso part with a little water first then put the white on, maybe because the acrylic will be floating on top of the water the alcohol will do it’s thing… That might be something to test, a good experiment.... I think ima try that.🤔

Hudson “ C’mon mom lets go to bed!” Lol, my dogs do that to me every night while I’m arting ha ha. So my altered book pulled from the spine while I was making the cover and happens to be the first spread, I used glued on muslin to reattach, so I basically have to redo those 2 pages to hide the fabric huh? Has that happened to you? Love watching this beautiful spread LorriMarie 🤗
oh feathered....i have repaired sooooo many books...are you using a book with sewn in signatures? i have videos on repairing the altered books and i also have videos on how to create healthier books...check them out...and i just let the fabric hang out...lol....see you on the table feathered!

Hi LorriMarie. I was wondering why you use nice ephemera to do the underpants layers if they aren't going to show. I'm assuming that the answer is just to create texture where they overlap and the edges of the papers show through the other layers. I have a suggestion. I'm an art teacher, and I'm always trying to find ways to reuse all the extra copies and mistake copies that teachers have. I always place a donation box in the copy room for collecting them. The ones that are blank on the back, we use in my class for rough draft work, making templates, etc. You could give those worksheets a new home and save your really cool ephemera for when it will be seen. Just a thought, if you have any teacher friends who could help you gather and reuse. I hate knowing trees have to die for all the paper that goes unused. Thanks for sharing all your creativity!

I love that white girl and sometimes less is more. She carries the page herself. I’m going to do a children’s book as mine tend to be a little edgier. I bought tw o books of paper dolls, one gothic, but they just don’t fit in my book. Have. You thought of doing a book just for children? More pink and more fairy tails ?

these dolls are from a magazine called Haute Dolls...unfortunately this magazine is no longer in print. i found a couple at a used book store in arizona...a lucky find...you can find some on ebay but of course...some are better than others...i hope that answers your question michelene..go create, go play, go have fun!!!

I so understand..when things are not quite right or done ,it bugs me until I redo, change,rescue etc. LOL Your final result was worth it. How do you make the alcohol 91%? Also can you show how to copy/print images on acetate, sheet music, wallpaper? Im not sure how to do that. Really great job persevering with those backgrounds!
okay tracie....let me see if i can answer your questions....you can purchase 91% alcohol...that was the easy one to answer...lol....there are acetate sheets for ink jet printers and also for laser printers...so you put the acetate sheet, of the music paper, or the wall paper in the feed area of your printer....put the image that you are going to copy onto the scanner plate of the printer (where you place things you want to copy) and then hit copy....the 'assorted' papers will run through the printer and the image will be copied on the acetate, music paper...etc...i hope that helps...if not...ask again...thank you! see you on the table tracie!!!

On the page you made with the window, you can see part of the word Fearless from the next page. I would put a cardboard banner across the window in that position so it says something different when you’re looking through the window then you turn the page and see fearless. I’ll have to keep a look out for Hudson. I’d love to see his own little segment in your videos. Like, Hudson’s Hint of the Day #1... Hudson says ‘Don’t eat mod podge’ that would make a cute postcard actually lol

you are so great. positive every day. i am happy to found you at youtube and i learn so much from your art. material is reduced to the max. i see always the same brush in use ... or you have more than one from the same model? but i never seen the method were you clean it. do you use only water for cleaning after use of each material? or is the cleaning different? or is nothing with cleaning and it is only going on?
oh my gosh ibag! thank you for noticing that i do not invest in alot of fancy supplies! that brush is my 'baby blue'....and 'she' lives in a jar of water! sometimes 'she' stays out all night (naughty girl) and i have to give her a good washing with 'pink soap'...but other than that...she is good! thank you so much for asking....and if you are interested in investing in a 'baby blue'...i can send you the link....go create, go play, go have fun ibag!!!
