Hi Feyi ,thank you very much for your video contribution about Halifax NS and your experience (What is ~Halifax in the first place ,ha ha ,priceless!)I really related to you experience as an international student who chose Halifax Nova Scotia to study.I and many others from the Caribbean in particular went study at St Marys University Dalhousie Mount St Vincent Nova Scotia Tech TUNS.I have very vivid and powerful memories of living in Halifax and the experience especially as a person of African Caribbean origin. It was fascinating to hear you articulate your impressions about the city. The thing that really impacted me was about your experience on your masters degree and one of your lectures where the topic of racism in North America was being traversed. The name KKK came up and you found yourself having to ask in class "what is the KKK". That blew my mind literally as a person of african descent born and raised in the west. I was born in the UK. It is obvious that you are clearly an intelligent educated and progressive young person. Not knowing about some of the bus route as a result of the poor or lack of information system management IT system on the transport systems and having to ask for directions as a new person is one thing. But coming from Nigeria as a post Graduate student and never having heard of the KKK or Klu Klux Klan is mind blowing. This is classic black history about the experience of black person in colonial and post colonial western world , and most obviously relates to slavery subjugation an oppression of black people .What does this say about the history education that is taught in the secondary school curriculum in Nigeria? And not to sound antagonistic but have you heard of the Ogori people in north central Nigeria? The Oworo?. I bet not, would I consider your education system faulty? No. Africans are diverse and it's hard to know everyone's experiences . Regards

I use to go training to the gym Smartfit, about a year ago, I remember that while I was training, on that day I used to wear my pants in black color, because I like that color, it makes me feel misterius, and I don't care if the color of my skin is brown, in that moment 2 guys started to train next to me, one of them at my right side, and one of them at my left side, and I remember that one 9f them said, "black with black it is not a good combination", I just continued training and i didn't care about their comment, those people are idiots, that's what I think, I can wear clothes with the color that I like, and I don't care if they are agree or not, please keep doing videos like this, it is very important
Thank you very much for this opportunity. I’m currently on my transcript/wes process. I don’t have a masters but I wish to write the TEF which is twice the prices of IELTS so i would be grateful if my IELTS is paid for.

That was a great video and I like the DIY lines. I'm a new PR in Nova Scotia (Dartmouth) but this weather is still doing me anyhow and thinking how I'll cope with life during winter. Hey! Wow, that's awesome! The weather won't be so bad compared to other cities. You'll definitely be fine. Downtown Halifax is fun if you hang around the right crowd. DIY makes sense. Never stepped foot in a salon in Nova Scotia. I did everything myself.

That's great!! I also heard the buses now have GPS and can be tracked real time. That's what I expected them to have. That will make it easier for newcomers.

I watch your videos back to back. 🎉🎉. Kudos my dear. Interesting story... Shaa better be your own ooh. Very lovely parents you have to accompany you. 🤗🤗
I think it's not that they expect you to know. The key is to ask. Ask ask ask people are willing to show you and direct you. No one will tell you anything if you dont ask.No one can identify if your new here.
Yes, asking is good. However, there are certain things you shouldn't have to ask about. For example, workplace pensions, benefits, deduction etc. It should be part of the Onboarding process, especially when the employers know that you're a newcomer. You end up researching it on your own, which isn't bad but it should be part of onboarding as well. There's a lot about the system that one wouldn't know to ask about until they come up.

Just go for it, whatever one sets his or her mind to do, get it done.
Hello Mrs Mac
I'm a Single applicant under 30, WES completed since March 2020, about to complete an additional degree(ACCA), took ielts in August 2020 but didn't get my desired score so I'm preparing to rewrite before December. Also I'm in the pool but I need to increase my score with a better ielts score.
I hope to get selected for the ielts sponsorship😊
All the best to everyone 🙏🏽💜

You will not kill me.

Hi Feyi your info is really mind shifting. Thanks alot. Hope you are good and fully settled in Halifax........ oga juuuuuuu
Thank you! I actually moved to Ontario two years ago.
That was a great video and I like the DIY lines. I'm a new PR in Nova Scotia (Dartmouth) but this weather is still doing me anyhow and thinking how I'll cope with life during winter. Everywhere is still boring to me and not like bubbling Lagos .
However, I've barbed my hair twice since I came because I cannot pay 30 Dow to any barber
Hey! Wow, that's awesome! The weather won't be so bad compared to other cities. You'll definitely be fine. Downtown Halifax is fun if you hang around the right crowd. DIY makes sense. Never stepped foot in a salon in Nova Scotia. I did everything myself.
@@FeyiMac Thank you Feyi.... Where Una dey get the right crowd😀😀😀😀? I visited sting garden road few times and my curiosity makes me walk down to sacred heart school 🤣😅 and I finally ate burger 🍔 that's not made for village boy like me
Lol you'll meet people, don't worry.
@@WasiuAbdul ..Oga calm down sir, no burst my belle with laff abeg. las las u go dey ok o
@@ogbonmojisola3623 shoo... Come Nd see the day it first snowed in Dartmouth which was my first experience, it started in my korokoro eyes and it felt like heaven bubbles. Within 2-3 hours, the roads turned to ice block... I was like, who send me come Canada oooo😂😂😂.. I prepared going to work, and my car stucked in the snow, after many attempts to move, I just put it in reverse and started rigmarole like Iyana Ipaja driver
I remember the first time i asked the step by step procedures for the Canada immigration program without researching and this channel gave me the opportunity to know things. I will be grateful if chosen for the IELTS sponsorship because do you know that everyday i see a reason or more to leave Nigeria ? Dear Feyi, Every naira counts even if it means starving to achieve the Canadian dream. I’m still the French speaker that intend to write the TEF exam which is twice the IELTS price and I’m still pursuing my transcript in school. Please pick me and save a desperate soul.
I’m a new subscriber, love you already 🥰💕
Welcome to the fam! 🌹🌹🌹
hahaha when you talked of seeing the forest through the plane, I remembered my experience too.
When I was landing in Montreal, Canada - I looked through and all I saw were farmland. I was shocked and worried and my excitement ended. But I resumed after driving through the city. So I feel here
Nice one dear. Quit an eye opening one. Thanks for sharing

Well done Feyi 👍🙏
wooow, I've liked your story, I'm in another country far from Canada but We all live in fear I too some times change walking directions when I'm afraid of some people
I guess I have to learn how to be a carpenter, right here at my home, I had to paint it, I had to put the floor, I had to build the fence at the garage, because there wasn't anybody at that time that could do it for me, and there was a criminal zone, can you believe it!
Oh wow! Well done! 🙌🙌
BUSES now say which stop in a box and an automated voice and they have yellow wires or red buttons to signal the driver to stop
That's great!! I also heard the buses now have GPS and can be tracked real time. That's what I expected them to have. That will make it easier for newcomers.
I'm from trinidad,I really enjoyed watching your video,I laughed a lot when you became a carpenter
I have family in mississauga so I decided looking at video
Enjoying it

Thanks for sharing your experience with us . In all you made through sis 😊👍🏼 i am the only black in the village where i live. I didn't know still i came Europe. We are kind to whites when they in our country, but they don't treat us the same way.
That's really sad. I hear a lot of horror stories about Racism in Europe. That's terrible.

This is so me when I landed in Lethbridge!i was kind of disappointed to say the least.
I can imagine!! There are some things that research can't prepare us for.

That downtown was beautiful!
