*Me when I first started playing Isaac:* hee hee I'm a lil naked boy fighting poopoo *Me now:* oh God please let that last ending be the true one PLEASE this poor boy has suffered enough
In my mind, this story takes place after Issacs father is given full custody. After the divorce, Isaacs mom spiraled into insanity and mistreated him. Not as poorly as the game says, as this is Isaacs mind exadurating the events, but none the less treating him poorly and resenting him for being like his father. After a while of this, Isaacs father is given full custody, and he is able to create a new world with his father, similar to legend of bumbo. They do this after school, right before bed as a daily routine. The Binding of Issac shows us these unique worlds that him and his father create. Each run is a different night and a different bedtime story. This story shows the trauma issac had went through and his emotions that have not yet processed in his young mind. Each story has a bad ending. He dies. He goes missing. He encounters his demonic shadow. His father feels terrible about his messed up childhood, as is seen in the final ending through his vocal cadence. He is trying his best to write his wrongs by making a happy ending. He loves Isaac, but had to leave that toxic situation.
what if after his father was given full custody over him, he took izaac to live with him instead of his abusive mother, and is hoping to publish a book about izaac's abuse since izaacs dad treats him much better than his mother, and since he dosent want to have isaac go back to his mother, he wants to be a good parent by treating isaac like a good parent should
My theory is that the intro is true but there was no trapdoor that Isaac found, instead he couldn’t find a hiding spot in his room so he was trapped in the corner until the Bible fell and knocked his mom out, then Isaac hid in his toy chest before his mom woke up. When she did wake up she thought Isaac ran away so she put up missing posters and started looking for him outside, Isaac is still in the toy chest and since it only opens from the outside he can’t get out of it so he starts to suffocate and eventually dies.
finally isaac's dad wins custody over him, and isaac can live a good life at the end, or well thats how i view it, but still hes alive is what i wanna say and he wins custody, finally the greatest ending for me, a good ending. or this was a fantasy and that isaac is living a wonderful life where his family is still together and loving eachother.
I think its more of a joint custody type of thing, Mom gets Issac during the week and dad gets Issac on the weekends and a few weeks in the summer, and it seems like there really isn't any bad terms between Issac's parents because after a while Issac's mom stops being the main antagonist
@@Hitomora oh, that make sense to have them spilit isaac for a few days, it'll make them settle and not have irrational fights over more, making it to like where isaac can have the life he wanted again, having religous time with mom and atleast regrowing the relationship with her & fun times with imagination with isaac's father, playing all sort's of fun games and making more things together!
@@mr.dumb-doomer3658 yeah and his dad seems to push away the idea that Issac's mom is bad guy in the story's which shows a bit of time has gone by since they first started having joint custody and the hostility between the two has calmed down and His dad even admits that he wasn't the best husband and father (the fact that he stole money from Issac's mom and left them without saying goodbye to Issac for possibly a year) but of course moms not perfect either and I think she had an affair which Issac notes in the game as The Mother of Harlots
@@Hitomora Yeah, so i guess case solved. Isaac has a spilit joint custody and both parents get to spend time with isaac. meaning isaac can finally go back to living a normal life that he wanted.
my take on the final ending is that Isaac ascended once he died and reunited with his dad in heaven or this is the heaven he was given upon entering it
Oppressive religion and fear of god and hell is something I went through as a kid. I genuinely hope the true ending is the one where Issac can find peace. Because that stuff can break a person mentally. Issac is far from the sinful one he’s made out to be. He’s just an innocent boy who just wanted to draw his damn pictures.
The corkboard with his drawings, the “bad bad bad I’m bad” over and over again hit me right in the childhood trauma. I thought I had this resolved. Jesus my heart hurts.
The true ending is that he did in fact die sadly, but the father talking about a different story makes people think that it was all pretend. The creator even said to let the people have their happy ending where Isaac didn’t die, and him and his father and mother lived happily ever after.
Issac first going in: A story about a kid escaping from his mother who's trying to kill him. Issac with all of the context: A harrowing tale of a family that was completely torn apart by Christian Dogma.
@@DimityPockets Thats what annoys me about these things, its a fake Christain with a power complex being manipulated by Satan into thinking she's doing the right thing, but for some reason people see this all Christains and that this is actually taught which is sad. What people should get from Binding of Issac is that the devil is someone who manipulates and people should listen to God rather then other people who claim to be a Christain, instead people think this is about how Christianity is harmful and how it promotes hate
Ending 17 onwards and blue baby's reveal ending are pure unadulterated story telling It's so sad and so beautifully told. I'm so sorry, Edmund... Matthias' voice is so soothing as the father, it's beautiful voice acting
It's really interesting to see how it was all played out in the end. Isaac basically accumulated guilt from his parents' divorce, and most endings (the cutscenes, not Edmund talking while paper sheets are displayed) are dark thoughts he gathered, like different ways to kill himself with items or just die forgotten and crying in the closet to begin with. I do like how end 21 (where he draws the Mother corpse boss) also shows that he's been actually mistreated by his abusive mother. And finally, the true ending showing that his mother very probably is out of his life, and his father takes care of him and lets him get rid of those grim thoughts. Just great imo.
Explanation and analysis of Plotrelevant content: -First up, the intro from the flash-original had Isaac visibly put the drawings in order, with the titlescreen also being his creation.(and his Shadow being visible the entire time) This is just straight up missing in this game and it is a shame because it is important as heck for the context. -Intro and Epilogue are a little tale he thought of to cope with his mother's insanity. Mom showing up with the knive at the end is not literally an indication of her being there to harm him. It is just to show the deep emotional scars Isaac has coupled with her not stopping to become a better parent. -Due to the obvious trauma that is going on, Isaac is going through mental turmoil which extends the story to a sorta-chapter2. Note that the background changes in the endings, Isaac no longer is seen with the drawings of the story and the narrator ducked off. All of this is actually real to him now. -In ending 1, he becomes Eden. This is a representation of how he wishes he could be someone else, but is unsure who. Thus, Eden can change at will, but what they are is random. -In Ending 10, he sees the opposite of Eden. Instead of a reincarnated form, it is his current form...but dead. This horrifies him to no end. This is likely a representation of his desire to end it, as also seen with the noose in one of the fillerendings. -In Ending 11, he sees It lives, which is him as a fetus. My best guess is that it is his mind coursecorrecting the internal logic of the story, as the heart of a woman is nowhere near the womb. -Endings 12 and 13 are in reverse order. He ascends in his mind and fights an idealistic version of himself, after which he rereads a book(likely a version of the bible) and comes to the conclusion that...he is evil. He then goes to hell, which is where he thinks he belongs and approaches the chest. As he opens it, diffrent personas he took on in his mind and places he visited flash onscreen. He does not need them anymore, so he discards them. -Ending 14 calls itself the end, not only because it is the last ending in the original game....but it is also the end of isaac. It is a collection of memories that are put in the chest before the screen turns to dark and...isaac dies. -Endings 15 and 16 take place before his death. His mother is searching him and he is in the chest(now the dark room because it is closed). In his mind, he fights with his conflicting thoughts on him being evil,(Mega Satan and him seeing himself as a demonic beast at the end of ending 16) his stance in relation to religion(The Lamb) and the idea that going out of the chest might be the right choice(Pre-repentance, the red chests at the start of the dark room were basically crap, unlike the golden chests at the beginning of the chest. Basically, it is less worth it to have the chest be closed instead of open) Also, Guppy is there. Why? No idea. Isaac might have offed him by accident at some point, which would not help his mental situration. -Endings 17 and 20 are very canonically interlocked. First we have Isaac's death that occurred in Ending 14(You know, "the end") offscreen...except it's onscreen this time. That just makes it hard to watch in itself, poor little boy. During the death, we see delirious flashbacks of the past that hint towards the origin of what is going on. Mom is crying, Isaac is drawing about a past that will never return, the chest is full of destroyed Polariods that have Dad removed from them, etc. Isaac turns blue, he has some final hallucinations as seen in gameplay(The void is actually just a red vortex on the edge of his contiousness, but his mind sees it as random stuff) and then it's over. Mom finds his remains, he arrives in the afterlife and then gues on his way. -Ending 21 is ironically the first ending chronologically. It is basically the explanation for both Isaac's trauma and the context for the tainted characters.(who are all either injured or corrupted in some way.) This is especially interessting for tainted magdalene because....that's actually Mom's name. The character in gameplay is basically the situration in a nutshell. She bleeds out as a representation of it being the worst to be kicked in the closet, but she also has a melee-attack as a representation of the involved violence of kicking someone in the closet. I know, unnessesary gameplay-trivia, but I just like the detail. For some connections between actual cutscenes, Isaac being in the closet is referenced at 8:02. Yeah, they actually used that one random backstory-picture as the basis for this part of the game. Cool detail, right? -We mostly don't actually know what exactly happened after Ending 20...like at all, it's anyone's guess. At the end of the day, Isaac somehow returned to his home(with no trapdoor underneath his carpet, as we already established in ending 12 that it never existed in the first place.) and after that, he tells his story to the narrator we haven't heared since the epilogue(his dad who is most likely also dead.) Here's where it all gets a bit weird. Did the beast-fight and the subsequent events that Isaac drew about actually happen on some level or not? Well, no idea. It is intentionally left vague. It is also unclear if the dogma-fight happened, but I would like to say that it didn't and it is more of a symbolic conflict between Isaac and the radicalization of religion. Anyhow, Isaac ended up finding peace, ascended and finished his story. The ending of his story is him leaving existance on a happy note, because that is most likely what he wish happened. Dad finds this overly sad and begins retelling the story in a more happy way, which ends the game.
Really good explanation i start think what could be end of this since 2014. and with your method i mostly agree everybody thinks boy is alive but we see sky from above in final movie
I just love how cute final ending is. It just fully ends the whole game with the fact that it was all in actual Isaac's mind, but as a story. I also love VA for Isaac.
Fun fact: the game is about a bible story about Abraham and his son Isaac, but instead of isaac defeating abraham, the angel said to him that he can kill a ram instead of isaac
not exactly about it, mother never tried to kill Isaac, he thought that she will because she used to always read the story of the binding of Isaac and in his mind the next logical step for mother, after taking away his art and anything that reminded him of his father was to kill him.
4:21 Like father like Son... Although Bumbo isn't Issac's Dad, he did hang him self like Bumbo did if he gets a bad Rotation in the Slot Machine (coin - coin - poop)... And it quite something seeing him hanging, poor lil's guy...
@@frentyyreaal bro, isaac dies in the chest lmao. the beast ending was isaac realizing nothing was his fault before he dies. the entire story of this game was isaac feeling like he was the root cause of the divorce, dad leaving ect. and he hides in the chest and suffocates to death.
2:29 isaac was cornered, his mother fueled with the desire to serve her god was bearing down on isaac "I will do as i'm told my lord, I love you above all else" Isaac's mother repeated to herself. This was the end of the line for isaac his mother was far too strong for him, but just as he accepted his fate, god intervened sending an angel down from above to stop his mother's hand and just like that..it was over
Then again, these were the original set of endings made for Rebirth, and they definetely look the most detail (I mean, they're the only ones to give Isaac a buttcrack)
My brother told me that the final ending scene is Issac fading out of consciousness as he dies in the chest, and that the mother's "death" sound is actually the mom's reaction to finding Issac dead. That sure didn't make it even more heartbreaking 👍
So I haven't checked in on issac since I finished rebirth many years ago. I'm only recently getting back into the series. I always thought the story ended with issac suffocating in his toy chest. So I always perceived the story to be a depressing one. Seeing that last ending was legitimately surprising after all this time.
I believe Isaac is supposed to have died in the chest and that was that but after the final ending people just begging Isaac to have a good ending made Edmun cave and say "let them have it". Personally I'd just say they're seperate timelines.
im not best with english, so i couldnt fully translate beast ending, and i was too lazy to translate, but when i looked at all endings i kinda understood it. i thought isaac just rising up looking at his past and thats all, but now ik that his *fears* was beaten, his shame and worry (couldnt understand/translate shame). its like in limbo (if im right its called limbo, where your soul cleans up from all memory and anything, so you can re-alive without memories to maybe live a good life)
15:43 because the narrator is izaac's dad, and izaac speaks here, what if after the events of the game, isaac ran away from his mother's home and went to live with his dad, hence why he says "okay daddy". the reason why his dad is writing everything is because isaac is telling him the story of his trauma
Wait a second, so the demons actually raised him like they were their own, and actually cared for him more than his own mother? And then they turned their back on him? That's deep.
I like how some endings connect each other, like one of isaac missing and his mom looking for him, then comes an end where she finds his son's bones, its all connected somehow, then the ending 20 i think is isaac point of view of what happened
All endings are just sad The endings represent Neglect Self hate Rope…? (… i dont like that word) Stupidity from neglect (i lack the understanding of this) Replacement Bottled up emotions (Isaac goes in the chest endings) Lack of attention to self (Isaac falls in a hole and gets buried with dirt oh the spider endings represent Isaac letting it all out when it has already comsummed him) realization and running away (… He realizes what his family really is… its time to go to my actual home…) Abuse to deathMOTHER REALIZE NO NO NO (She finds out she locks me in the closet to slowly rot and die…)
Is this how the story is ?or am i understanding the cutscenes wrong Isaac thought hes bad and corrupt so he locked himself into a chest to cleanse "himself" because his mother always locked him away when he was bad (into the closet) while the oxygen ran out in the chest he passed out and his brain imagined the opening cutscene the game etc. after some time his mom hangs the missing posters outside one day she walks into his room and finds his dead body in the chest and is very sad thats why she is crying in the end with his skelleton in the hands
I honestly think that The end wasn't meant to be like that, in one post Edmund (the creator of isaac) said something along the lines of: "let them have their happy ending" wich i think it means the canon ending was suposed to be isaac dying in the chest but was changed to this happy ending, but lets be real... If isaac made this story and he is so young... Then he knows a lot about dark cenarios wich makes this ending feel Forced when you watch all ending back to back... But... At the end of the day... We got our happy ending... We fought all the way to this

At the end of the day, Isaac somehow returned to his home(with no trapdoor underneath his carpet, as we already established in ending 12 that it never existed in the first place.) and after that, he tells his story to the narrator we haven't heared since the epilogue(his dad who is most likely also dead.)
Here's where it all gets a bit weird.
Dad finds this overly sad and begins retelling the story in a more happy way, which ends the game.
underrated comment

Holy jeez that was basically an explanation of endings and (dunno if im right but) lore
Really good explanation i start think what could be end of this since 2014. and with your method i mostly agree everybody thinks boy is alive but we see sky from above in final movie
What about Keeper endings though ?
this breaks my heart, poor issac
I just love how cute final ending is. It just fully ends the whole game with the fact that it was all in actual Isaac's mind, but as a story. I also love VA for Isaac.
wdym cute isaac is still dead
it's not at all cute lol, the ending is a pre-death fantasy of Isaacs dying mind.
Fun fact: the game is about a bible story about Abraham and his son Isaac, but instead of isaac defeating abraham, the angel said to him that he can kill a ram instead of isaac
Villager number 9 is on the scene
not exactly about it, mother never tried to kill Isaac, he thought that she will because she used to always read the story of the binding of Isaac and in his mind the next logical step for mother, after taking away his art and anything that reminded him of his father was to kill him.
It wasnt really saying that Abraham ‘could’ kill the ram instead, it was that he had to. God specifically forbid him from hurting Isaac.
Gotta love how consistently inconsistent all of these endings are animated, like look at rebirth endings and then look at ending 21.
4:21 Like father like Son... Although Bumbo isn't Issac's Dad, he did hang him self like Bumbo did if he gets a bad Rotation in the Slot Machine (coin - coin - poop)... And it quite something seeing him hanging, poor lil's guy...
@Voidware no it’s an old saying
Also Bumbo is canonically Isaac's creation.
Just watch Ending 5 and/or Ending 6 of The Legend of Bumbo.
Or the Alt Prologue of The Legend of Bumbo.

poor isaac
he perished on the 21th ending
remember he's only 5 years old...
You don't really understand, it's just a story made by Issac in the ending the father was like "you know you can have a happy ending?"
It’s 21st
@@frentyyreaal nah Isaac has been confirmed dead by the creator
@@frentyyreaal bro, isaac dies in the chest lmao. the beast ending was isaac realizing nothing was his fault before he dies. the entire story of this game was isaac feeling like he was the root cause of the divorce, dad leaving ect. and he hides in the chest and suffocates to death.
2:29 isaac was cornered, his mother fueled with the desire to serve her god was bearing down on isaac "I will do as i'm told my lord, I love you above all else" Isaac's mother repeated to herself. This was the end of the line for isaac his mother was far too strong for him, but just as he accepted his fate, god intervened sending an angel down from above to stop his mother's hand and just like that..it was over
The finale almost made me cry gawd darn it isaac XD
There’s something very cold, yet nostalgic with the art style of endings 1-16, and I’m all for it.
This lore, Isaac's father is 'Abraham'
and mother is just a hybrid of 'Sarah' and 'Magdalene'
Whoever voice Issac is so cute they chose a good voice from him bc when they choose a bad voice it doesn't fit them
It's actually Matthias Bossi's (narrator/Isaac's dad's voice actor) son
Isaac slowly dying in the chest after the delirium ending is just depressing.
He looks so cute with that costume! 6:26
The last ending is the best one for me. It shows that Issac is being take care of by his Dad.And that he has left his mother.
Just a reminder that Isaac is super fucking dead and the last cutscene is just what is going on in his head during or after his death.

I can't believe that I actually used to think this game was just about Mom trying to kill Isaac and him actually getting possessed
Remember when the only good ending was getting a penny and cosplaying as dr fetus
Mom: Give it to me, NOW!
also Mom: *magically snatches the drawing from issac even though issac is holding the drawing at the direction of Mom*
Plot twist of ending 21: Mother < 3 was just Isaac's artistic drawing of his mom, Magdalene.
Ending 12-16 gives me the chills
So I haven't checked in on issac since I finished rebirth many years ago. I'm only recently getting back into the series.
I always thought the story ended with issac suffocating in his toy chest. So I always perceived the story to be a depressing one. Seeing that last ending was legitimately surprising after all this time.
While it's not technically been established that he's in heaven with his father, Isaac is confirmed to be dead so it seems most likely.
I believe Isaac is supposed to have died in the chest and that was that but after the final ending people just begging Isaac to have a good ending made Edmun cave and say "let them have it". Personally I'd just say they're seperate timelines.
I mean, Isaac could also be dead in that ending, and was with his dad when he died
@@Star.6739 I guess?
happy to see a small RUclipsr vid blow up man hope you take off from this blessing from the algorithm:)
Thanks! Yeah it last week really blew up, im getting 500 views and 2 subs per day, thats insane!
I love how most of the endings are suicide, the rope and the clothe hanger, such quality
And some of them are him dying

“ YOU THINK IM AMOGUS?! *I’LL SHOW YOU AMOGUS?!* “
im not best with english, so i couldnt fully translate beast ending, and i was too lazy to translate, but when i looked at all endings i kinda understood it. i thought isaac just rising up looking at his past and thats all, but now ik that his *fears* was beaten, his shame and worry (couldnt understand/translate shame). its like in limbo (if im right its called limbo, where your soul cleans up from all memory and anything, so you can re-alive without memories to maybe live a good life)

15:43 because the narrator is izaac's dad, and izaac speaks here, what if after the events of the game, isaac ran away from his mother's home and went to live with his dad, hence why he says "okay daddy". the reason why his dad is writing everything is because isaac is telling him the story of his trauma
isaacs voice is way too cute 😭
13:10 YOU THINK I AM A **FIRE IN THE HOLE**
I WILL SHOW YOU A **FIRE IN THE HOLE**
Wait a second, so the demons actually raised him like they were their own, and actually cared for him more than his own mother? And then they turned their back on him? That's deep.
i dont know
There were no demons
the only happy one is where he finds the quarter or the beast ending lol, at least he's happy before he dies
End 21 gave me hard spongebob vibes (12:39)
that plot twist hit me so damn hard
bro the 9 realy said dr fetus
The final is honestly so wholesome I almost cried
I like how some endings connect each other, like one of isaac missing and his mom looking for him, then comes an end where she finds his son's bones, its all connected somehow, then the ending 20 i think is isaac point of view of what happened
I cant not imagine isaac without Morty's voice
issac's voice is so cute and generous, but he ugly cries and huffs and puffs very fast when he crys like me.
All endings are just sad The endings represent
Neglect
Self hate
Rope…? (… i dont like that word)
Stupidity from neglect (i lack the understanding of this)
Replacement
Bottled up emotions (Isaac goes in the chest endings)
Lack of attention to self (Isaac falls in a hole and gets buried with dirt oh the spider endings represent Isaac letting it all out when it has already comsummed him)
realization and running away (… He realizes what his family really is… its time to go to my actual home…)
Abuse to deathMOTHER REALIZE NO NO NO (She finds out she locks me in the closet to slowly rot and die…)
Rest in peace Isaac
If it was the real God, He would'nt need a sacrifice

ending 20 always gets to me :(
Ending 3 makes me wanna use my rewind item, even though I forgor its name

I think its just isaac drawing pictures and showing his faster to hear him make a story of his drawings.
im so happy it was just a fantasy made by him and his father
Is no one gonna talk about the fact that ending 2 is so fucking disturbing and creepy?
Is this how the story is ?or am i understanding the cutscenes wrong
Isaac thought hes bad and corrupt so he locked himself into a chest to cleanse "himself" because his mother always locked him away when he was bad (into the closet) while the oxygen ran out in the chest he passed out and his brain imagined the opening cutscene the game etc.
after some time his mom hangs the missing posters outside
one day she walks into his room and finds his dead body in the chest and is very sad thats why she is crying in the end with his skelleton in the hands
Issac’s HEADLESS BODY CAME SPIDERS 11:17

I won't kill my creation. Whoever told her that, it's not me, i didn't asked for this, and i don't like this.

That final ending though
Isaac remains me of tbh creature
I honestly think that The end wasn't meant to be like that, in one post Edmund (the creator of isaac) said something along the lines of: "let them have their happy ending" wich i think it means the canon ending was suposed to be isaac dying in the chest but was changed to this happy ending, but lets be real... If isaac made this story and he is so young... Then he knows a lot about dark cenarios wich makes this ending feel Forced when you watch all ending back to back...
But... At the end of the day...
We got our happy ending...
We fought all the way to this
I feel like this is just some kid mad at his mom doing one of those random train of thoughts kids do.
Ending 21 was the saddest moment
