LP is huge. Just not in the US. Saw her live once in a small venue and this tiny lady blew the walls off that place. Her voice is amazing and unique.
Same here, saw her live in Atlanta four years ago and have been a diehard fan ever since.

My wife had me listen to this before I watched the video so I wouldn't be biased by the look. My second listen I watched. That chick is awesome. Shes like 6 feet away from the mic when she is hitting that falsetto during the guitar solo. Such a powerful diverse voice and talent.

I am a metal head, and never thought I would see you check this out. She is an amazing artist and writer. I purchased tickets for my wife to her show a few years ago. Another writer I love is John Paul White/ The Civil Wars. LP and him I believe have a song coming out soon. Check out The Civil Wars Barton Hallow.

"Switchblade" is my favorite song by her. She is NO JOKE. Modern day Dylan writing wise and a fantastic voice.
If you wanna here her range try "Tokyo sunrise". LP has the ability to create such art that she pulls u in and you're hooked. I've watched reactions with people who are into metal, rock, rap, opera. AND THEY FALL IN LOVE with her unique sound, her artistic interpretation and her ridiculously amazing writing skills. And the whistles, whatch a couple more songs and they won't seem comedic anymore. They are an instrument.
Instant chills when she backed up from the mic and hit that really high note. That was really good imo
I immediately fell in love with her voice. But that high tone is downright ... bone-sawing in a good way, if that makes sense.

She is incredible, huge in Europe but she's still somehow slightly under the radar in mainstream US I love seeing people experience her music for the first time.

LP is exactly what you said. Just Like Prince, she does her own thing. LP's version of Halo is amazing. Check out "Tightrope", "Muddy waters" ( that's one I think you guys might like). LP did am interview where she talks about the meaning of the song. "Lost on you" was written about her then girlfriend. They were in a relationship and she could feel her partner was pulling away and not realising all the things she was doing to save it, or the time and effort that she, essentially "lost on her". SO the lyric "is that lost on you?" refers to how her partner just never saw her and everything she was putting into the relationship.
I was stunned when I came across her and this song. Then I noticed it had like 800 million views and I was WTF? How have I never heard of her? Well I dam well know who she is now.
LP-When We're High is one of the top three sexiest songs I've ever heard.

I was doing an open mic in Lexington, KY, in 2004 (I think). Guy running the show asked me if I'd mind letting a band from New York go in front of me. Sure, no problem! Turns out, it was LP. So then I'm thinking, "I gotta FOLLOW that!?!?!" Blew me away! Seen her several times since.
Really love this song, and particularly this version. There is so much MOOD in it, and the guitar is absolutely perfect.

Thank you so much for this reaction! LP is phenomenal and yes, many people relate to what she sings, she speaks to our soul! I'd recommend her cover of "HALO" and also her recent single "The One That You Love". You pretty much got the meaning of the song right; the relationship she had invested so much in was going down, and she felt like her girlfriend wasn't registering what was happening to them (LP wrote this song 1 year before they actually broke up).
LP is absolutely amazing and her voice is stunning and I’m a huge fan of hers and she’s not huge huge in the us but hugely know in other countries and you guys should do more of her videos and songs like when we’re high strange one last time the one that you loved

🍷🍷 I just recently found LP through a video like this and yes, my first husband talked me into marriage at 20, then constantly cheated and would beg me to not leave, I finally did for good, women love differently, we invest everything (when we're very young) we think love conquers all, then finally realize it doesn't, it won't make me love any less, just be smarter in how much of my time and energy I put in, it reminds me of Tracy Chapman's song Give me one reason, "This youthful heart can love you, Yes and give you what you need, But I'm too old to go chasin' you around Wastin' my precious energy." 🥂

I love how Scott Hoying (Pentatonix) and Mario Jose did a beautiful duet rendition of this with Hans Zimmer music. Incredible. Her birthday is one day after mine! But I am a hell of a lot older LOL. Another Pisces, perfect :) I read on other comments that her mother / parents were opera singers. Hearing LP here I can tell. :))

Between her voice, vocal style, and the musical presentation/arrangement (on this song),
I get a strong vibe of 70's Rock/Folk, blended with that 90's female pop that was so prevalent (with a hint of alternative towards the songs finale`)

I put this dong on my playlist in 2018. ❤ Shes been very successful as a song writer for American pop stars like beyonce. Shes a vet. Shes just now becoming more well known singer though in American pop culture.
She might honestly be my favorite singer alive. Hell, artist even. Her vocals are like none other, the nerve and vibrato on her voice is absolutely insane and she writes nothing but BANGERS.

If you want a good backstory on LP watch UPROXX . Her mother was an opera singer and she has trained her voice that has a natural vibrato already. She’s mind blowing. Incredibly underrated in the States. HUGE in Europe, Russia, South America. After watching this video a few years ago I fell head over heels down the rabbit hole that is LP. I actually thought that she was like 5’10 ( vs 5’3) based on her voice and stage presence. Her cover of HALO IS A MUST!!
