Don’t put stock rotor and brakes back on it. Get a spindle from a 2002 s10 blazer it’s got wheel bearing hubs instead of the old style. It’s a direct bolt on. Y’all have them on your website.
My dad bought an 87 GN brand new with the t-tops and brought it home with a bow on it for mom. She was scared of driving it. I have so many fond memories from my childhood of him spinning the tires and watching the boost gauge on the dash. They eventually sold it in the early 90s but it’s still one of my favorite cars. Dad passed away last year unfortunately but I know he’d love to watch this rebuild with me
I've commented a few times that a restomod project would be perfect for this channel, some American muscle from the 60s-70s with modern comforts would be amazing to see. Out of all the people out there I think this group, especially with their list of contacts could do it the best.
Love to see how comfortable & confident Quinn has gotten with these builds. This is the result of having a great group of guys who love & believe in each other. You guys kick ass
As a south African fan of this channel, I am so looking forward to learning how to work on my first car and have it be my personality. Dreams can become reality and this channel makes it seem possible
if its one thing I love the most is that the rusty parts are gonna get cleaned and refreshed. That makes all the difference! Throtl team is the best! 😄🤘🤘💪
I love that you guys were talking about having a grand national and making it a project. My uncle has a 1987 Grand national turbo t and seeing this makes me go back to when he would work on it a lot!
Absolutely Dope!! My mother got an 86' Buick Regal new in 86'. 3.8V6 with 235hp....I was 11yrs old in 86'...in 87' when the Buick Grand National hit the magazine covers...I was in love..lol My mother hit a deer and totaled it by 88'....there were three of us, best of friends senior year of high school...my buddy Corbin had a 86' Ford Thunderbird coupe..it was a turbo car, gone bad he had gotten a good deal on, so him and his father put a 351 Cleveland, Blue racing Cam, 3 speed with a B&M shif kit....spent alot of time in that car....lol My other buddy Paul, had a 1987 Buick Grand National GNX, it's a wonder we're still alive, and still good friends to this day...lol an Amazing car! He sold it to a used car lot, after 3 yrs of owning it to move a couple states away one summer to get to know his birth father...who ran a Harley Davidson shop...a bought him a bike, and was back after 15 months....lol Myself, I had a 1979 Monte Carlo SS with a 454..all the bells and whistles ....myself and Corbin hadn't gotten around to paint jobs, and interior...we were more motor guys, Paul's was always clean as a whistle. . Lol I'd give anything to relive a couple summer nights, all three of us in a row just gettn it,, out state route road headed to the strip mines,.....maybe one of these days, I'll have me another car to work on...I'm a single father of a 16yr old girl, and she wants my old truck an 2005 Ford F-150 xlt 5.4L 3v...if you know, you know...I've got a timing job to do, that's as much wrench turning I get to do anymore...My grandfather was a mechanic, my father was a mechanic, and if I had half a brain, I'd be a mechanic...I grew up in garage, raised on exhaust fumes...lol✌️
I literally was in tears watching this video. My first car was an ‘81 Regal when I turned 18. My mom gifted it to me to go to college. It was in a decent shape until I got an accident and I lost it 😢. It was so special to me cause my mom gave it to me and was the only transportation she got to work and she just sacrificed herself to gave me the opportunity to go to the college and had a job. So when I saw for the first time the GN I just got in love with it and since then became my DREAM CAR ❤ Thanks you guys for appreciating such a wonderful peace of engineering art. Hope who ever got this beauty take good care of it. 😌
Its great to see you guys work and bring one of these back to life! It would be cool to see it get some more engine upgrades, maybe a little more boost and see you take it to the strip. Keep up the great work!
That’s one of my all time favorites. So innovative for the time. And one of the coolest looking cars out there. Especially since at the end of the day it’s a Buick regal.
These come in and out of my dad’s shop all the time. Ghetto in Long Beach haha. These are so gnarly. Check for stash boxes, I’ve found 8 balls, guns, all sorts of hood classics
I started watching your channel last weekend and I absolutely fell in love with everything you do. I’ve have watched all the fast and furious builds. Keep up all the great work #throtl
yo quinn i know you probably wont see this but you are the best part about this channel i dont know what it is but i wont watch a vid unless you are in it you are just so chill and cool i feel like we would be best friends but keep it up man and please stay in the vids 😅😂
Happy to see your grand national on your channel. I own an 87 grand national you need to change the rear tips exhaust can wait for the upgrade. You guys do great work keep up the good work from Bronx, New York. 🇵🇷💯
It's literally one of my favorite videos from you guys. Thanks, I'd like to see some more mixing it up other than just JDM cars. Maybe a 1st gen Toyota 4runner... manual 22r or 22re.... super easy motor and I know you can flip it for profits
Totally jealous! The grand national was the one car I've only sat in from the 80s. Wish there was one I could drive just once. Such an icon. Y'all are lucky!
what I would give to be working in a shop with all the guys from throtl. Love to see you guys doing this with a car that has so much personality and has always been such a wonderful car.
Always happy to see a G-Body back on the road. Stock, I agree that most G-Bodies aren't the most impressive cars, but thankfully people have been modding these cars to do everything for almost 40 years. Add that to the fact that a significant amount of companies offer aftermarket support, it really is the most diverse automotive platform ever.
I never thought id see the day where i was extremely happy to watch one of yalls videos and see you do pretty much nothing to a car. Im so happy to see this car left in its original design
This is my absolute dream car I would do anything in my life to have one of these. I’ve wanted a gnx like this since I was 13 years old. You guys have yourself a beautiful car.
this is epic so so so sogood great choice of a beast for starting with musclecars I say, Ricky and Quinn great job really looking forward to an updated OEM plus build
*Told It doesn’t have turbo, proceeds to look under hood* Sees basically a freaking leaf blower attached to the engine 😂🤦🏻♂️ Gotta love the Ol’ Corvette Annihilators
Would LOVE to see some restomods from the boys on cars like these! Get SOS customs to do like a real nice dark brown leather reupholster on the interior, tighten up the suspension, brakes, new headlights etc and make it the SICKEST daily!
It seems the interior is from t-type, not a Grand National. I had a 1986 GN with the digital climate controller. Loved that car! Went 12s in the quarter mile back in 1991. Great car.
Yes !!!!!!!!! Omfg I was hoping one day , one freaking day this was going to appear on this channel and finally you made it happen. I’m excited for the Buick series. My father owned one before it was stolen and that shit was 🔥
I'll never forget being a kid watching my brother street racing and some d bag tried to get in the race when a 3 lane turned into a 2 and my brother lost control and spun out. I hopped into a friend's of his' Grand National to go make sure my brother was alright and that was the fastest car I had ever been in.
I had an 86 without t-tops as my first car and I miss it so much. I've told my family that if I am ever in a position that I could have any car again that I have ever had it would definitely be an 86 grand national.
Would love to see what you guys can do with a Van and a 2002 Firebird. Nice job on the Grand National. I was surprised to see drum brakes in the back on this car that has a Turbo charger. 🤔

You know they are gonna get some crazy sponsored wilwood or something
I wholeheartedly agree with this!!
The Oldsmobile Bravada has the same type of spindle hub assembly

After that build, Typhoon and Syclone build for the trio

This is the best idea I've heard in a long time
crazy that Quinn was just talking about a grand national to build, keep it up boys love to see it!
I was really looking forward to an updated OEM plus build
Same Its a cool car for sure but I’m disappointed they didn’t improve brakes, suspension, spark, fueling, or cooling to modern oem+
They "ruined" a bunch of cats wither the beautiful throtl oem+ and didn't take the chance to do the greatest Grand national.pf all time smh
As a south African fan of this channel, I am so looking forward to learning how to work on my first car and have it be my personality. Dreams can become reality and this channel makes it seem possible
Same here I'm from South Africa as well, can't wait to work on my first car
Bro we're here. It's so satisfying
Ay man... Jesus loves you. Hope your first car turns out alright!
So cool to see fellow SAFFAS here , I'm currently busy with my first car and yes it's a Mk1 Golf 😂😂😂
Hell yeah i though im the only south african here watching there videos
All I ever wanted was a black grand national- Kendrick Lamar
The 80s supercar killer💪🏽 this is gonna be a great series
Ricky and Quinn are the dream team. Good on ya, lads!
They are like a buddy cop movie that keeps getting better.
FINALLY! A REAL AMERICAN HERO & CERTIFIED CLASSIC.
if its one thing I love the most is that the rusty parts are gonna get cleaned and refreshed. That makes all the difference! Throtl team is the best! 😄🤘🤘💪

YES YES YES!! Finally!!! Would love to see you guys update those rear brakes to discs but love it guys!
