Omg i I just got a cane today and I literally used it the way you told us to and I don’t feel nearly as much pain in my hip. I am having surgery for multiple things that are wrong in my left hip, but surgery is not for another three weeks. I can’t take the pain now and I have a constant limp without the cane. Thank you soooo much!!
Thanks so much guys! I'm 31 and have a bad labral tear in my hip and a misshapen femur, surgery in two weeks but have a wedding today and didn't want to use crutches and practicing with the cane I feel so much relief! Again, thanks so much!
Thanks guys! I needed to know this right now, seriously right now. Thanks for the extra info too. I thought I was definitely headed for surgery when perhaps I’m not. Get the weight off the injured leg, no hills, rest. You guys are awesome! 👍🏼
Thank you so much for this! I just started using a crutch & cane today for a meniscal tear flare up on my knee. I'm glad I found your channel. My pain, while walking, just went down hugely.
I have bursitis in my left hip that's been causing severe pain unfortunately my job is physically demanding and I don't drive so I walk constantly I'm thinking a cane to relieve then pain but I'm weary cuz I'm only 27 and I know as a younger person with a cane I may get unwanted attention or stares . This video has helped my confidence that a cane may be worth the trouble to relieve the pain
I found you guys a while ago when I had other issues, don't remember what it was but you really helped. I'm pleased to see this is from you guys again.
Thank you for making this video I have a tic disorder and one tic in particular is where I'll suddenly drop to my knees and land painfully on them I got knee pads but it was too late and I've done damage to my ankles, hips and my knees are quite weak so even walking to school is painful so I just got a walking stick and didn't know how to use it at all so at least now I can use it properly
I'm glad I bought a cane, but I wasn't sure how to use it. I also bought 2 lengths. I had read that I needed the higher one, but actually it's the lower one I need and it hits my wrist on the spot! Thanks for the tip! I've been checking out your videos tonight because of many pains.
I know this is an older video, but I fractured my tibia. Platuea tibia horizontal fracture 7 weeks ago. I saw the ortho yesterday and they said in 5 weeks I can start putting weight on it if my x-rays continue to show healing. I didn't have an operation. I'm really shocked that I'll use the cane if I use one on the left side since my leg is the right leg that's fractured. I'm still not sure if I'll use crutches or a cane. I have to attend pt soon! I had to transfer my care to my hometown because the original doctor I had was almost a 100 miles away. I was shipped there by ambulance originally the day of the accident because they thought they would have to operate, but no. Thanks guys.. I appreciate what you show us.. Much appreciated.. Thank you SO much for this quick but informative video. I first heard off you gentlemen from my knitting web site with tips to alleviate neck pain. My husband recently had a lumbar block and still has some mild hip pain. This was just what he needed so we can continue our walks!!💖👏
Thank you so much. I just developed right hip bursitis and am using exercises that I saw on one of your videos, anti-inflammatories and someone suggested a cane. I'm hoping it helps because I haven't been able to be on my feet for more than 20 minutes w/out wanting to die.
OMG, you guys are right about House - I used to watch that, and he did always walk with the cane on the bad side, limp, and then pull out a bottle of pain pills and swallow some, like that is okay behavior. It probably would not be so much if the show was still being written today. I recently had my own experience with various pieces of assistive mobility equipment due to an injury, was given a status of partial weight bearing for a while, and quickly developed wrist and neck soreness on my good side. Then I discovered that you can buy all kinds of cushions and that they come in some very funky colors and patterns.
I can’t put too much pressure on my knee, so that makes me nervous not having the support on the side with my sprained knee. I sprained my knee really bad with fractured cartilage and stretched ligaments. My knee cap is very unsteady and slides out of socket easily. I can see this being useful once I can walk on it and relieve the pressure a bit. However, what suggestion do you have until I cant put pressure on it? Crutches scare me because I feel way too unsteady and it’s a work out!
I've tried using my cane on my right side as my left knee is injured and very sore. I'm sorry but it just feels much more natural for me to use it on the 'injury' side. Is that bad, will I cause more damage to my knee using it that way? Thanks.
Have been thinking about using a cane for a while but have been refusing because I’m only 22 but I mean if it means this injury from 5 years ago will heal I guess I could at least try
I have a hard time getting a folding walking stick because I am only 4' 9" any suggestions because when take one hole part off you can not fold it properly help me
I realize it's a bit off topic but I was wondering if you have any thoughts on canes/forearm crutches/regular crutches to assist walking endurance for scoliosis-related back pain. I have scoliosis and walking is my favourite activity, but I'm finding I'm doing it sooo much less these days because my back gets tired and painful... Sometimes mid-back sometimes at the very bottom of the back. It's been a few years since my doctor and I last discussed it, but at that time she said I had developed some arthritis in the spine due to the scoliosis. I recently was using a cane for a bout of hip bursitis. I found that I liked having it with me even just to lean on when I would stop for a while. That got me thinking whether using 1 or 2 canes, crutches, or even a walker might be useful in helping to alleviate some of the pressure on the back. (I work in healthcare and I've seen too many people use walkers improperly, so I'm a little worried about falling into bad habits - which I think is easily done with a walker - and aggravating the situation). I would appreciate knowing if you think any of these might help, and if so which might be the best option? Thank you! 😊
I use forearm crutches for days when my fibromyalgia makes my knees flare up. I also have scoliosis and the crutches also drastically reduce the hip pain. Tip: make sure the cuff of the crutch is 3 inches below your elbow and the handle meets the crease of your wrist like a cane so you only have a slight bend in the elbow. What I don't like about crutches is that it's very difficult to carry things. I also own different canes, a rollator and a 2 button folding walker. I recommend a rollator which has 4 wheels and a seat if you get tired easily. Using mobility aids is a learning curve, so a physical therapist is useful.
This video is so frustrating im 26 and been on crutches for nearly 6 years i always use the crutch on the side where my hip pain is it eases the pain so MUCH better than using it on my good side which doesn't change anything the pain is unbearable. Ive been told so many times it use it how you are saying but it doesn't ease the pain its just pointless for me as hip pain is still at a 7/8
So ,if you cannot put hardly ANY pressure on your left leg you use the cane on your riRIGHT side . Makes absolutely NIL sense to me . I don't care if you are therapists. Your left knee is in agony with arthritis so you put pressure on itFor a fraction of a second you are putting load on the left knee . Sorry but i do not get it.
Really enjoy your interaction with each other. It seems you have a lot of fun and still very informative. I've repeated "up good" "down bad" many times when approaching the stairs . Thank you!

Thanks so much. Trying to move from a walker to a cane. Makes me so much more mobile. This was really helpful

I've gone through 2 knee replacements with your excellent advice!
Thank you!

This was interesting because I never thought about a crutch or a cane to alleviate an injury.
Thanks for the great instruction! Very helpful!

I got a cane for my back primarily, but also my hips and knees, I want to make sure I'm using it right so I'm not hurting myself more!
Coolest preofessinals around youtube, by far!! Thank you guys!

You guys R Rock Star first view just now ....I liked and subscribed. Let's start a cult!!! Sending two capes for the 2 of u .
Thanx for all u do!
Thank you for this. I have a knee injury from 4 years ago that hasn't completely healed and I've been thinking a can might help.

Green Acres! New hip, very helpful!
My dad always says about steps - go up to heaven and down to hell (6:15).
Very helpful! Thank you!

Hi Bob & Brad. How long do I need to use a crutch?
I have occasional knee and hip pain, are there exercises to strengthen my legs to support my knee and hip?
Carol Frank that is an excellent question! Can someone answer this for us? Hello? Anyone there? 😂
Good information. I can never remember up with the good, down with the bad. End up stopping to think about it and just looking goofy.
Ella Toler Thanks for the reminder. I just watched the video and already forgot that part. Must be something in the water, all this forgetting. 😂
Think of it this way: thumbs up is good; thumbs down is bad 🙂
Thank you these videos! Do you have a video on grip strength?
Search "Grip strength" under Bob and Brad and you will be able to find our videos, thanks!
+Physical Therapy Video when will ur intro be an iTunes ringtone?!

Happy New Years 2019 Im glad I came across your. Program You Both are The Best Bob Brad 🎄🎄
Hope it works! But my question is... How do ya use a cane if both knees hurt extremely bad??!!!!
I think you get a walker....or a wheel chair...?
Yes a walker is a good option, however you can use a cane in each hand. I have had few patients do very well with this.
I’ve done well with 2 canes when my knees flair up.
Good question. I’m glad you asked.
Have been thinking about using a cane for a while but have been refusing because I’m only 22 but I mean if it means this injury from 5 years ago will heal I guess I could at least try
What happens if you have a bad right knee and left hip. Arthritis in spine aswell
What if you have pain on right knee and left hip ?
Sorta starts at 2:00
Loved the intro lol
nesto torres HEY! Everyone loves the intro!😂❤️
I wanna know who sings the song! Is it on iTunes as a ringtone?
I have a hard time getting a folding walking stick because I am only 4' 9" any suggestions because when take one hole part off you can not fold it properly help me
What if you have hip pain on one side with the knee pain on the same side?
I have broken my knee cap 2 years ago and i need my cane ever since.
So my sore hip is on the right, so I use the cane on the left, n match the cane with the right step! :)
So say I have a bad knee on the right side and hip replacement on the same side
If you watch House MD, the actor switches the cain to the correct side.
Yep, going to try a cane:)

Why do people worry about the age thing I'm 30s and having to use a can from broken hip. It's all how you use it.
I use a cane here and there if my pain is bad, though I'm not sure what it really is...comes and goes
How do I use the came
I wish you guys would do videos on low level laser, and how to use for each illness, including foggy brain.
Happy holidays!.✌️
21 years old one shoulder surgery and walking with a cane already.. thanks army lol
Went you go up hill ,how do you come back down
I'm 23 but the pain of fibromyalgia is getting so bad I'm thinking of getting a cane
a gun plus a car would be a humvee
