One of my favorite presents to this day was a couple of sets of original polly pocket sized "a bug's life" toys where they had like these miniature little sets and cool things to set up made form tiny things and it was so cool. One this I really wanted but never got was this this like sand that was somehow hydrophobic so like if you used it in water it would act like wet sand for sand castles etc, but if you took it out of the water it would be dry instantly as if it was never in the water at all. It was so weird but neat and I was mesmerized by the concept hehe.

Did this walk today using the IOW Ramblers book, takes you past the IOW mystery at All Saints Church, Freshwater and then over to Golden Hill County Park and back to Fort Victoria past the wooden bloke on the bench. Cafe Verdi at Fort Victoria served up a delicious Chili con carne lunch !, highly recommended . Stay Cool ...

The present I had the most fun with was a chemistry set which I got when I was about 8. Mum wasn't happy when I stained the carpet with a whole tube of 'agent orange'. Setting light to the magnesium ribbon started my fascination with burning stuff. Great days the 70's. Stay cool 👍

A near perfect afternoon's walk, nice one. Always wanted a model rail set - no matter how small - for Xmas but never got one. Probably just as well because it would've been the gateway to spending untold fortunes ceaselessly expanding it and an eventual pauper's grave. Of course the best present ever for any kid born pre-1980 was the 'ticket to freedom' also known as the bicycle.

Got some of the main Star Wars battleships and figures in the mid-eighties Christmases, shared with brothers. Still in my dads loft, but worth less now then what they cost new I'd guess. Never got my BMX with mag wheels though... Walked the Coastal path back in June and this brought a few memories back, mainly searing pain from an ankle tendon issue and extreme heat. Did look very nice there though. Thanks for the vid.

A very snazzy "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", you find some great songs Marek.
7:00 ok, this will probably make no sense, but that's par for the course at this point. Is that set up a place to store an inflatable vessel? Rather than deflate it, you tie it up & leave it there like a hat on a hat stand? I don't know, probably not, intriguing though.
I think the childhood Christmas gift I got the most traction out of was my Raleigh bike. It had "Elysia Blackcurrant Crush" written on it & I remember looking "Elysia" up in the dictionary (pre internet) to see if it meant anything, seeing they must've been inspired by "elysian" & being proud I learned a fancy word, ha.

Merry Christmas Greetings from a new follower, subscriber and member. I’m enjoying your videos so much. Love the mix of walks, info, photos, art and im laughing so much. I always wanted a bike, never got one. Best present was an art set of pictures to colour, gel pens glitter in 1964. Keep spreading the joy!

Did part of this walk when I was in year 6 (1996), problem was I was very into WW2 aircraft and kept imagining we were being dive-bombed by Stukka dive bombers, as a result i had to keep leading my family off the beaten track into the safety of the woods, thus causing delay. 😮😅

Those things are for playing a fun game called bash. Four players sit on each side of the square. The player that nobody likes very much gets up and places an extremety of their choice on the platform in the middle and each player on the outside takes it in turns to use a croquet mallet to "bash" the middle person. The winner is the one that makes them cry first. 😃
    ..Or maybe they're BBQ areas.
I always wanted a Big Trak but I never got it. I hate my life. 😒

You could possibly BBQ any bits that may detach in the process. And instead of humans just put bird seed on it and wait for the pigeons to lad. At least there is more skill involved and you can play it by yourself.

I had a mr frosty and ten years later I got accidently drunk with a friend by drinking the now fermented sugary flavourings in the tiny mr frosty cups

I have read lots of disappointing reports about Mr. Frosty. This seems to be the best experience so far cool dude.

Best present for me was the Looney Toons Monopoly. I loved playing Monopoly but no one else did. So I played all the pieces my self starting at 2 and working up to 8 pieces. I was always the Hat in the traditional game when someone would play with me. 🎩

You must be the only person who likes Monopoly. I can empathise. I was obsessed with American Football when I was young, but no-one ever wanted to play.

Beautiful Isle of Wight walk. I did have a Stretch Armstrong. I loved him, but he sadly met his demise with Taffy, our dog. My favourite Christmas gift was a wooden model sailboat my mother gave me. It's a lovely memory actually. Thanks for all of your videos this past year, Marek. I hope you and your family a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks cool dude. I expect a lot of Stretch Armstrongs were the victims of dogs. Have a great Christmas cool dude. :tre:

My favourite present was a sky blue Raleigh Arena racing bike with (wait for it…) 5 gears! I even fitted a highly unreliable speedo counter to the front wheel and a kick stand too which always snagged the hem my school uniform trousers. Another great pressie was a Palitoy Merlin - that was a very nerdy but very cool gadget. Merry Xmas cool dudes

Best Christmas Present Ever? What?.... you mean Mumps on Christmas Day when I was 5? Or possibly Christmas Day next week when I can shout F...O.. maybe to the worst Covid bout EVER? Oh, you mean toys I guess...well, my dad used to get me a little toy sweet shop every year when I could be a confectioner for about 5 minutes until all the little balls had gone & maybe a toy post office where I could be a Post Office stamp licker for a day (til all the stamps ran out)....Anyway Marek, looking forward with gusto to the Singing Reindeer shortly but in the meanwhile this video of one of my favourite areas of made me giggle a lot, which is no mean feat as it hurts to laugh at the mo....Merry Christmas & please keep making me laugh all next year too....x J x

@@cdwc Gus has flown the nest now. I have to assume he is an Ex-pigeon, as per the Parrot in Monty Python. But I can safely say I did NOT nail him to the windowsill...So I can assure you he is NOT the Covid culprit x J x
