Hi , can you tell me which out of the can is a nice clean , coarse metalic silver basecoat , would it be House of Kolor BC-02 Orion Silver Shimrin Glamour Metallic Basecoat BC02 C2C-BC-02 .i want to do apple red on a motorcycle but just want a little more fleck than the fine silvers .cheers
confused, first they add gold to base silver and say how great it is, then later they add color (red) to the same base silver and say how that helps. assuming I'm gonna go red which way should I go, with gold or red to the base silver?
if your painting a red candy , hes saying add red concentrate "10%" to the silver base to achieve a pink base , then mix the candy the way you would normally then apply the candy . you will get better coverage in less coats doing it this way saving time on the job
Great product, but do NOT buy from TCP Global. In 2 shipments, every HOK product container in each box was severely damaged, and the gallon of S2BC02 Orion Silvermax was leaking.
I was buying from TCP off and on. Our local DuPont jobber got taken over by Advanced Auto Parts a while back. I was in there, not often but these people found out that I was buying some stuff from TCP because these locals were super high on some things, like abrasives. They told me they wanted me buying from them and I explained that their prices are outrageous on a lot of things. They put me on some kind of program and I am paying about half of their shelf price which is right about what ANYONE should pay. Just goes to show how much they can move the numbers around when they want to. The good news is that I am getting HOK and AXALTA from them for a really decent price now. If I had to pay twice as much for HOK, I wouldn't be using it, I would mix my own toners and candies etc using Spies-Hecker or DuPont (Ax). The PPG jobber has the HOK but the price he wants is about 180% what I am paying, he's a royal dick and he will not budge one single penny. Talk to your local jobber, go to HOK website and see who is your local distributor. DEMAND a fair price, if you are buying regularly they will do A LOT for you. One last thing: That OSS is a nice silver. If you run out, you get another can, and it will match. You don't have to wait for someone to mix it. For candies, I use OSS and I use a bright flaky gold, which is made by adding Kandy Koncentrate to the silver, and sometimes I add gold flake. I use that silver A LOT, because I'm also making gold. I use their jet black a lot too. For airbrushing murals, their Kandy Koncentrates are cut with SG-100 and reduced, I keep them in touch-up bottles and damn, they come in handy !!!

can you mix the candy thats alrdy mix in the quart or it has to be the concentrated? and what will the mix be with one quart of orion silver?
on the second demo, a kandy karrier was mixed w/ orion silver (10%), can the karrier be mixed at any percentage?

That looked blotchy to me .Unless those are shadows.
