    As rough as losing in the next round was that clinching game against the Braves was one of the greatest moments in franchise history.

  • @bobjones1872
    @bobjones1872 11 месяцев назад +48

    Remember that this team started with:
    Trea being terrible until August.
    Harper was gone for a while AND had a huge power outage until much later in the season.
    An incomplete starting rotation (remember starting Strahm and Falter?)
    Injuries in the pen and with Ranger.
    JT was horrible in home games.
    And we still made a deep run.
    This team is very good. Next year will be great.

    • @anonymousanonymity2815
      @anonymousanonymity2815 10 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with all of these but remember, this team is old.
      Wheeler and Nola have a ton of miles on them
      Castellanos just isn’t very good, same with Bohm
      Center is back to being a question mark
      JT is getting really long in the tooth for a catcher
      I think the bullpen is way too over talked about. You have Hoffman, Strahm, Dominguez (who I’m confident in having a bounce back year), and Alvarado. That’s a pretty solid unit.
      I think this team is still very good, but there’s A LOT that can go wrong next year, no one thought that 2011 was going to be the last year of playoffs for 10 seasons. Never take these years for granted. I grew up during the playoff drought (started really following in 2013 when I was 11), I’m just grateful every year this team gets in.

      @@anonymousanonymity2815saying Casty and bohm just “aren’t very good” after Casty had a 30 hr season and both him and bohm has 100 rbis is fucking blasphemous.

      @@coneysama2397 counting stats don’t determine if a player is good lmfao.
      Castellanos has not had a +.800 ops season here and has a total of .2 fWAR in two seasons combined here.
      Bohm is the definition of a meh offensive hitter. RBIs are the most fucking useless counting stat of all time. The fact that you use them screams “I’m a casual fan”

    This was probably the most invested I've been in a sports team for a whole season, and boy was it quite a fun ride.
    From the relatively slow start, to June Schwarber, to July, but I'll never forget how I felt watching in August. The Trea Turner arc that kind of came to a head in late July/early August with the errors and poor play in Pittsburgh and Miami and then the turnaround starting with the ovation in the Royals series was amazing to watch. Lorenzen no-no, the Giants series (which I was there for the Harper inside-the-parker), and just the overall clutch hits (Turner walk-off, harper game-tying 3 run shot, etc.). And then the Rojas walk-off to clinch the playoffs was great.
    I'll never forget watching these playoffs, especially the first 2 rounds (most specifically Atlanta game 4). I was fortunate enough to go to game 7 (my first ever playoff game), and we all know the outcome wasn't the one we wanted. But the atmosphere and the fact that everyone stood for every pitch was something I'll remember forever. That place was as loud as I've ever heard it after the Bohm HR and Stott RBI double, but we couldn't capitalize later that inning and for the rest of the game. Being there in-person to watch such a historic loss was definitely a weird feeling. It was very quiet in the stadium after Carroll caught the last out; I could clearly hear the cheers from the Arizona dugout.
    It sucks that it didn't end in championship, or even an NL pennant, but it was still a fun ride overall.

    I have a “Philadelphia Phailures” shirt that I had custom made in the peak of early season suck in 2022. I broke it out of retirement right around the start of June, the team started winning.
    Got it out mid game in the game when the Mets hit a million hitters, immediately won.
    Got it out after two heartbreaking losses to the Brewers, dub the next day
    There were other cases, but my point being, I’m clearly responsible for at LEAST like 8 wins this year

    Trea will have an MVP season in his second year, he will fight Bryce for it since they’re gonna be the best players in the league. Wheeler will win Cy Young with Nola in the top 5, ranger will have an amazing season and our bullpen will be clutch. The Phillies will beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in either the NLCS and go on to beat the Texas Rangers or the Baltimore Orioles in 6 in the World Series. Party on Broad Street
