An incredible journey like last year...only to fall shorter of the ultimate goal. This time, the Phillies were more dominant with the signings of Trea Turner, Craig Kimbrel, and Gregory Soto. With offensive depth pieces like Christian Pache and Johan Rojas, the team was fit for another World Series run. It seemed that way at first, but the Diamondbacks woke up and officially became the threat to the National League as they won their first pennant since their World Series-winning season in 2001. This isn't the D-Backs however (but I'll be making that video soon)...
Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, and Nick Castellanos led the charge this year. Castellanos going off in games 3 & 4 against the "best team in baseball", Schwarber hitting 5 home runs in the NLCS alone, Harper being his usual self with the bat and his newly-founded glove at first base, and Trea Turner & J.T. coming up clutch. This isn't to dismiss Zach Wheeler's incredible postseason with his average 9-strikeout games, Aaron Nola's clutch moments on the mound, and the Phillies bullpen becoming an actual weapon for the first time in years.
