I love how much the Cypto mining community supports each others channels and advice. Some other communities are super toxic and compete with one another. Very lucky to be apart of a close knit circle of people that support the movement and each other! (aside from a few discord channels...) LOL
Never turning off my rigs. I did once in bear market (in mining for over 4 years now) to offset loan payment (by saving on electricity bill) that I had, as a results loan of around 10k was paid off fast, but if I were to continue mining through this time the gain at current top of the market would have been 40k 😁. It was my little experiment ) I learned my lesson.
Hehe, the same I'm doing rn. All in on eth and payout in BTC, don't care when and if eth goes pos in June or August, I stay this way for all the time. Accumulate the btc is all I want for now. Stay focused and mine on, sir 😊💪🏼🤘🏽

If the bear market really hits hard for a few years, eth may not even survive, especially if they actually go p.o.s. And they know it. Which is why I believe it'll be delayed even longer. Btc is the only safe coin at the moment. I switched all rig payouts months ago. No shit coins either. They won't survive either.

Nice video, I totally agree! Getting payed in BTC has been great for me since I don't have plenty of gpu's. The Eth gas fee just never made any sense to me since I will never be able to get the 23 eth together anyways in order to stake them at the rate that I mine . So what I currently do is I mine Eth for btc, sell it for a cheaper coin , stake the coins and hodle them while waiting for the price of the coin to go up. The staking makes up for my lack of gpu's and is doing well so far essentially doubling my earnings.
For your eth mining calculation on whattomine you've input electricity cost and the same is deducted before calculating profitability. Whereas your 2miners account shows your profitability without cost of electricity deduction...

As a small miner with only 3x 3090s I have been doing the 2miners BTC mining for a while already to avoid ETH tx fees. Planning to run the rig as long as the profits are on the + side and hope 2miners or others provide the same BTC payouts for other coins after POS.

You know ETH going from $3k to $6k would double your investment vs BTC going from $40k to $60k .. just saying BTC would have to go over $80k to double your investment if you buy or transfer your coins to BTC today.. again just saying .. the same is true once ETH goes PoS the value could tank however truly nothing seems to point to that thus is more than likely it will go well beyond $3k .. only IF ethereum goes to POS and only if that will make the value of the coin going up which wont. it will be the same as hard broken miners of Ravencoin. It will reduce the value soon as miners not intersted on that coin. Eth might go just right down after the merge.
I'm having a tough time understanding the analysis between ~10:13 and ~11:57 where it's said that it's more profitable to mine ETH->BTC on 2miners when ETH->BTC ETH->BTC is $3.36 over 18hrs and ETH->ETH is $9.74 over 24hrs
Why you didn't apply the refferal code on unmineable? It's almost no work and you lower fees from 1% to 0.75% You just apply your code to yourself by applying to your rig and that's it.
At bear market ETH to BTC is around 0.034~0.072 At bull market ETH to BTC is about 0.079~0.088 So why its a good idea by selling your mined ETH into BTC at low price today? Why not hold , staking and sell into BTC when the price goes to the 0.08x range? Your methods seem to be sell in the bottom. Unless you are expecting ETH to drop much lower than today's price 0.072, then buy it back when its in say 0.044
Bitcoin usually pumps first though so you will notice the run up sooner on bitcoin and the rest always follow. Eth usually grows more but usually lags behind so if you time it right could be the best option.
As someone who doesn't have a lot of time and has to "mine on a budget" you've confirmed some train of thought ideas I've had for myself of what I've been doing personally. So it's nice to see someone on a much bigger scale than myself taking a similar action under somewhat similar circumstances card wise with the parameters set forth in the video.
Yes, I've been doing this on my first mining rig... some payouts in BTC and then sometimes "mining" Matic on Unmineable and throwing my Matic into AAVE for lending passive income..
I like the idea and it is definitely worth looking into. One question I have is, isn't the conversion from ETH to BTC a taxable event? If so, I would try to look into reducing the number of events within a calendar year.
prices are coming down on older cards as well. making harder to sell them. you can also adjust your cards to get more efficiency at the cost of a few MH per card. what I did since almost my entire rig is 1080tis. was running them at 41-43mh at like 210-220 watts. Adjusted them a bit and now they run like 37-39mh but at only 140 to 150 watts. Having trouble right now tryin to sell off some 1080s (non-ti) and can't move them unless its under $300 bucks. Might as well keep them and keep mining since they are already paid.

I had already swapped over to the BTC payouts on 2Miners - and not shutting anything down. My setup is small enough to be supported through my job. Hopefully difficulty drops and we can get better payouts!
I think this is great advice if you have at least 1GH or more in your farm. But instead I'd go half normal Eth payouts and half into BTC. You capture both the scalability of Eths price as well as the obvious assumption that BTC increases in values from current levels.
Exactly what I did when 2miners started offering BTC payments. Now however, I just got my ETH payout after 2 months mining and am thinking of going FULL BTC instead. Am I crazy? Reading too much into Ethereum's struggles as of late? I don't know but would appreciate the input.

Bear market is the perfect time to get ahead of the trends. We all know that Etherium is going PoS and that the other GPU mineable coins cannot handle the load. So setting up some CPU miners during this time is probably a good idea.
Psst!! You're still relying on a centralized organization to control your ability to mine. Dump the "provider" you're using and make it a "process" your system does instead of "logging in" to your provider hoping their services isn't down to connect to. At least set the rigs with a fail-over provider. NONE of that can be done using HiveOS as your centralized provider. /pfft

I mine eth and get payed in nano through 2miners. Should I switch to BTC instead? I'm fairly new to this but have alot of fun building and setting up my rig for different coins.
I have the same doubt, I mined some Nano and I'm not sure if it's worth to switch to BTC or keep mining Nano and then sending it to some exchange to cash out when needed. Have you found any answer?
No I haven't. I mine eth and gets payed in BTC atm. But the threshold for payouts are 0.005 so when I have that I'm switching back to Nano because the threshold are 0.0005 eth so I get payed every day and I think the potential to go up several hundred percent are more likely. Bitcoin maybe at best can go up 100%. So I'm thinking I will get payed in nano and use some of it on other coins i might like and hold the rest. Trying not to put all my eggs in one basket kinda thing.

Im busy with the same strategy for a couple of days now. I took the bear market into consideration. im clearly running at a lost paying R2.50 per unit in South Africa on power aswell as running on 1x rx570 4gb nitro gpu. MIning is new to me but im slowly buying new stuff bit buy bit like helium miner that im waiting on and adding more gpu's as i safe up. Correct me if im wrong this might still pay of if BTC price goes up at the end of the day?
Why not just keep mining ETH unless you don't ETH is going to be worth it after staking? After staking, though, I do plan to mine using one of the methods to mine alt coins which AMD card don't have a wide array of algos.
This gives me some options as I look to build. A rig of 6600xt would do well using this method. One question though, what is going to happen to this when ETH goes POS?
Great video! Suggestion, you mentioned the fees and other data... popping that into a spreadsheet and showing us simple scenarios for eth vs eth to btc (for each option) would really illustrate the overall point here (while also providing quick reference fee-comparison). Just a thought.
I, just this last weekend, have switched a couple of rigs over to mine ETH but get paid in other POS coins. The reason? I am assuming that coins will return back to ATHs about the same time. If ETH is 50% from it's ATH and coin AAA is off it's ATH by 75%, if both coins eventually return to ATH at about the same time, coin AAA will have bigger returns over time than ETH. Pure speculation and requires mining & holding, but feels to me like a way to eek out a little more returns on my mining.

I think you may have done some math incorrectly. Simply, if you mine 10 USD worth of ETH, 2miners is going to pay you 10 USD worth of BTC. If ETH is not profitable to mine, mining ETH and getting paid in BTC will not magically make it profitable. Also, if BTC gets out of its bear slump and makes new highs, ETH will follow it up. So any future gains in BTC would have been gains just holding the mined ETH as well. Getting paid in BTC is really nice when mining spec coins like ergo or raven that are not listed on a lot of exchanges. Just makes it easier to sell without shady exchanges.
I spotted the same thing. The video can be misleading (not intentionally I'm sure) into thinking that mining to a BTC address in 2Miners magically gives you a boost in profit, it does not. I have been mining to BTC for the last 40 days and because I am converting regularily to FIAT to ROI the rigs, the fees are much lower using this method, especially if you transfer BTC using the absolute lowest transfer fee. Health warning .... lowest transfer fees may not actually complete, however they always have done for me, it just takes a couple of hours.
NiceHash OS isn't much of an OS and doesn't allow overclocking. So doing this version in HiveOS is the best way unless you're trying to do it on windows such as your gaming rig, which NiceHash has a nice program for.
It's going to be different per person based odd their electric rates and hardware. What's most profitable for me might not be for you. So do your own testing on each platform.

I use betterhash. They have no fee for exactly what your doing.

At least set the rigs with a fail-over provider. NONE of that can be done using HiveOS as your centralized provider. /pfft

One could also mine to a nicehash wallet, using any other eth pool and convert it to BTC and then transfer to the actual wallet.

Not sure, maybe with uncertainty about Eth's future this is a better strategy. But alts tend to have better % returns than BTC.

Been getting paid on Polygon with Ethermine and swapping to WBTC. Not completely automated but gas fees are super cheap.

I mine eth and get payed in nano through 2miners. Should I switch to BTC instead? I'm fairly new to this but have alot of fun building and setting up my rig for different coins.
I have the same doubt, I mined some Nano and I'm not sure if it's worth to switch to BTC or keep mining Nano and then sending it to some exchange to cash out when needed. Have you found any answer?
No I haven't. I mine eth and gets payed in BTC atm. But the threshold for payouts are 0.005 so when I have that I'm switching back to Nano because the threshold are 0.0005 eth so I get payed every day and I think the potential to go up several hundred percent are more likely. Bitcoin maybe at best can go up 100%.
So I'm thinking I will get payed in nano and use some of it on other coins i might like and hold the rest. Trying not to put all my eggs in one basket kinda thing.

Im busy with the same strategy for a couple of days now. I took the bear market into consideration. im clearly running at a lost paying R2.50 per unit in South Africa on power aswell as running on 1x rx570 4gb nitro gpu. MIning is new to me but im slowly buying new stuff bit buy bit like helium miner that im waiting on and adding more gpu's as i safe up. Correct me if im wrong this might still pay of if BTC price goes up at the end of the day?

Why not just keep mining ETH unless you don't ETH is going to be worth it after staking? After staking, though, I do plan to mine using one of the methods to mine alt coins which AMD card don't have a wide array of algos.

I, just this last weekend, have switched a couple of rigs over to mine ETH but get paid in other POS coins. The reason? I am assuming that coins will return back to ATHs about the same time. If ETH is 50% from it's ATH and coin AAA is off it's ATH by 75%, if both coins eventually return to ATH at about the same time, coin AAA will have bigger returns over time than ETH. Pure speculation and requires mining & holding, but feels to me like a way to eek out a little more returns on my mining.

I think you may have done some math incorrectly. Simply, if you mine 10 USD worth of ETH, 2miners is going to pay you 10 USD worth of BTC. If ETH is not profitable to mine, mining ETH and getting paid in BTC will not magically make it profitable. Also, if BTC gets out of its bear slump and makes new highs, ETH will follow it up. So any future gains in BTC would have been gains just holding the mined ETH as well. Getting paid in BTC is really nice when mining spec coins like ergo or raven that are not listed on a lot of exchanges. Just makes it easier to sell without shady exchanges.
I spotted the same thing. The video can be misleading (not intentionally I'm sure) into thinking that mining to a BTC address in 2Miners magically gives you a boost in profit, it does not. I have been mining to BTC for the last 40 days and because I am converting regularily to FIAT to ROI the rigs, the fees are much lower using this method, especially if you transfer BTC using the absolute lowest transfer fee. Health warning .... lowest transfer fees may not actually complete, however they always have done for me, it just takes a couple of hours.
Is this any difference of this procedure and mine directly with the NiceHash OS or other options available from their software on Windows?
NiceHash OS isn't much of an OS and doesn't allow overclocking. So doing this version in HiveOS is the best way unless you're trying to do it on windows such as your gaming rig, which NiceHash has a nice program for.

It's going to be different per person based odd their electric rates and hardware. What's most profitable for me might not be for you. So do your own testing on each platform.

As long as I'm still profitable I'll keep going. My electrical cost is about .09CDN, or approx .07 USD/kw.
here in the uk it converts to a painful 0.26 usd/kwh. pretty painful, and only going to rise...
This Idea makes no sence to me, if btc goes to 60 or 70k, eth will do a 4 or 5x ... imho
but eth goes up more than btc , in a bear market i understand because you trying to protect your capital and btc sufer much less than eth
