A superb production Steve and a cracking job you’ve done on the pair with great weathering and perfect audio to match, hopefully we’ll hear that chatter again from a P2 on the mainline when the Prince of Wales comes into service which is a few years off yet but certainly something to look forward to, cheers 👍
Those are some nicest British model trains that I’ve ever seen. Excellent job. I honestly prefer the P2 but the Hush Hush is also an interesting engine.
The combination of expertly weathered locomotives and rolling stock, thoughtful lighting and interesting view points in conjunction with well edited real sounds make some of the shots almost real. Another great effort Steve and I'd love to see it first hand. Do you ever take in visitors?
I really want to get my hands on a rebuilt W1 in the Silver Jubilee colors and run it along side my brass hybrid Dreyfus Hudson. Two grey Hudsons rocketing down the mainline would look amazing.
Love these big Gresleys. I'm still working on my rebuilt W1 Hush Hush in Garter blue. I've achieved the missing wow factor, which Hornby failed to achieve, so now I need to subtly weather it. I gave Hornby a lecture for my livery expectations for their new P2 on Saturday at The Great Electric Train Show e.g. the brass bits need to be brass and the copper pipes copper. The window surrounds brass and wood as appropriate. The wheel tyres to be fully steel, not filled with coloured plastic wheel spoke inserts. Bachmann achieved all this on their new V2, I told them, so that's what I now expect. A technical guy seemed to take notice but Simon Kohler wasn't really listening, just giving me a load of spiel about the big plan 🤷
I’m afraid to say that I reckon the P2 will be way too far down the line to change structural things like the wheel material. Finishes can be tinkered with much easier sure, but can also easily be rectified by the modeller with only basic skills.
@@NEVILLEGROVE you say that, but many of my club members don't have these basic skills or have dodgy eyesight and/or shaky hands. Some, all the above. They probably never made loads of Airfix kits and Kiel Kraft balsa wood kits as I did as a kid
Another off topic comment. As you have sound recordings, does it include a Mirrlees diesel engine ? Accurascale's new Class 31 sound files can't reproduce said engine's sounds because no working engine exists. You could therefore be useful to them ?
Hi Simon, unfortunately not as it was salvaged from my Grandpa’s layout and it took an irreparable knock to the spindle in the process. However I’m saving up for an ADM one, but that might be some time! 😬
The weathering on your models is superb! I want to achieve a similar effect as your polished finish on the engines and was wondering what was your process for achieving this?
Great photographie and stunning steam locomotives. The weathering is superb. A most pleasant video to watch ! Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Filip
Cheers Filip! Glad you enjoyed this one 👍
Beautiful layout, beautiful locos, beautiful carriages, beautiful video.
Beautiful.......👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Awesome thanks for all the encouragement! 👍👍👍
Yay! Another fantastic video! It’s always a pleasure to watch what you have created. You make model railway films that are exciting to watch.
Wahoo! Thanks that’s great to know, much appreciated 👍👍👍
Your trains and the horrocks branch locos look so real nice job man! ;)

Thanks so much Nige! Yeah 2007 blasting up through Scout Green will be a magnificent sight and sound! A potential record breaker do you think?
@@NEVILLEGROVE I would say so 👍
Again a very impressive video! Thanks for sharing it, I have enjoyed it very much! Greetings from Belgium 🙋♂️ Erik
Thanks so much for watching Erik and for the great comment 👍👍👍
Just terrific , beautifully put together video….👍😀
Many thanks Richard, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! 👍
Wow! As usual. I was never a fan of the Hush Hush’s look, but in the head of a speeding express it looks amazing.
There's the rebuilt version which Hornby already has made which is basically a bigger A4, but with 4-6-4 instead of 4-6-2
@@gerogyzurkov2259 yes I’ve seen that too, but then again the original version is more… original !
Thanks Robin and yeah it certainly is a striking looking loco. Truly unique.
Amazing video as always matey. 2 mighty engines there ☺ 👍
Thanks a lot Gaz, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Flipping excellent, thank you.
Those are some nicest British model trains that I’ve ever seen. Excellent job. I honestly prefer the P2 but the Hush Hush is also an interesting engine.
They are both cracking models yeah, and interesting prototypes 👍
Pleasure to watch keep the videos coming 👏
Hi Dan, thanks very much, there’s plenty more already in the editing suite!
Kudos once again looking forward to seeing the 2-8-2 on the 'big railway'
Great Video.
amazing video's to show ❤️❤️❤️👍
Thanks Adam, you watching and the comment is much appreciated 👍
A fantastic video as always.
Excellent thanks! 👍
excellent !!! says it all
Cheers Rudi 👍

Thanks Steve for your generous and thoughtful comment, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I worry that seeing it in real life would shatter the illusion! 🤣

That silver W1 does look very nice - I did a double take when I first saw a photo of it.
That would indeed be quite a sight!

@@andrewdking Well I’m always happy to provide that sort of service along with my weathering packages if any of your club members need it 👍
Impressive 🎉
Sounds great looks great, well it is Neville Grove.
Do you have a video on how you did the "oily rag" look weathering? Also what mod have you done to the trailing axles?
Another off topic comment. As you have sound recordings, does it include a Mirrlees diesel engine ?

Thanks Andrew, not to my knowledge but there might be something out there. Tbh I don’t know what it sounded like compared to the re engined 31’s.
@@NEVILLEGROVE that's the problem I guess, neither do they know what it sounded like
Interested to know how you modified the trailing bogies. Can you share the secret?
Does the turntable work? Love a turntable on a layout

@@NEVILLEGROVE shame but at these times I guess take What you can plus it’s a nice thing to have on a layout if it’s from your grandads
W1 4-6-4?
Yeah sure is, although technically I believe it’s actually a 4-6-2-2, but few people refer to it that way 👍
@@NEVILLEGROVE Thanks, I'm no expert, so happy with either, as they both include a 6. Both locos look really great, btw.
The weathering on your models is superb! I want to achieve a similar effect as your polished finish on the engines and was wondering what was your process for achieving this?
I thought these were o gauge, they look so big and real 😯
That’s a lovely compliment thank you 🙏
@@NEVILLEGROVE no prob, hope i get that good one day
The W 1 is a 4-6-4 Not a 4-8-4 as stated although there was at one time a 2 -10-2 proposed but never built
Where do u get ur cab crew figures from?
Bachmann mainly with the occasional one from ModelU. These are Bachmann I do believe 😅
