Love this. Just learned about a quillow as a quick quilty gift. Your option of the corner tacked "pillow" makes so much sense and is easier! Thanks Rob
I plan to make a couple of these in pretty fabrics to match my living room and when someone wants a throw---it's right there! Won't my guests be surprised that a pretty pillow can be so fun and practical! Thanks for another awesome tutorial!
I LOVE Man sewing!!!! Not only are you creative, you always make me smile with your humor....sometimes I will watch a tutorial as I deconstruct a faulty seam to keep me motivated to re-construct afterward - thank you for blogging
Brilliant video thanks great to see presenters admitting to and leaving their mistakes in the video... It really helps novices like myself feel better when things go wrong.. also love your honesty about the quilting... Your videos have a natural teaching flow and the steps easy to follow and understand easily.. Thanks again
I am definitely a subscriber to Man Sewing. It is hard to select a favorite and I have already commented on this tutorial. However, I would sure like to win the free cordless iron. I would like to say that I really enjoy watching Rob every Monday - he always has some new tip and great tutorials. He has great presentation and makes watching fun. My husband even enjoys his approach.
I havn't made one of these in years and wanted to make some for gifts. I couldn't remember how to do the pillow part, I was trying to remember when I signed in to .Missouri Star one day and there was your video. thanks for the help. Love your videos.
Rob - GREAT modern and much improved way of making a quillow. Have made many in the past but always layered then right sides together, sew around the edges, turned and tied them. Your demonstration is wonderful and looks so much nicer than the old method. Love the idea to make both sides of the pillow "pretty" and the tacking of the edges of the pillow is much nicer than the ugly straight stitching. You rock, young man!
I saw one of these quillows years ago, but couldn't figure out how to make one. After seeing your video, I'm so excited to get started. What a great "pillow" to have in my car. Thanks for the step-by-step, easy-to-follow instruction, Rob!
I made a quillow for my young step son in 1999. It was well loved and passed around to all seven kids. It was used at home, in the car, at daycare, and for nap time at kindergarten. Beautiful and oh so functional!! Thanks for giving new life to this "blast from the past."
I made one of these ages ago and it was nice to have a video as a refresher and to improve ways to construct this Quillow. This is a great project for traveling with children.
I have been making these all my life! My Grandmother showed us how to make these and we would help her sell them in New Orleans. Yours is so much easier.
What a great idea to make for charities... think women/children shelter's, pediatric hospital units... wow! The possibilities are endless. Love the modern style as well. Now to get started on whipping up a few of these puppies :)
I was thinking about making a quillow as a gift for a granddaughter's birthday. I only have a week, so I know they are quick to make (I have made many of them years ago). Was surprised to see that this was your video for today! Thanks for a "refresher" on how to make one! Now to get busy sewing!! Thanks so much, Rob!!
Never even heard of a quillow. Being disabled and when I leave my home to visit my niece or going home to see my mom, this would be the perfect project for me to sew up.. THANKS ALOT.........
The very first quilt I ever made was a quillow in my high school sewing class for my sister's wedding back in 98/99. it counted as my big project for the year and also made an awesome wedding gift!
Many years ago my mother-in-law made myself, my husband and my daughter Quillows for Christmas. Thank you for the tutorial, you make it look so easy. I think I will have to try and make some for my grand daughters for Christmas 2016. Keep the great tutorials coming.
This is the best demonstration on making a quillow I have seen. I really like your demonstrations for several reasons. Mainly you don't edit out your mistakes, and you don't try to be a "perfect know-it-all".
Your idea on how to attach the pillow sleeve makes perfect sense ,Thanks ....thank you also for PDFs from free motion. Great ideas please keep them coming
I was so glad to see that Rob had done this tutorial for the qwillow. I have been looking for this pattern for quite some time and Rob has made it really simple. Thanks Rob.
I absolutely love this project! I'm planning on making one of these for each of my three older grandchildren for this next Christmas. I'm sure that they'll love these, as well as their mom because they can be used as an accent pillow for their beds as well as a quilt for warmth. Thank you so much, Rob!
I have some quilts that I’ve already made for some children for Christmas. I must do this! I like how you attached the “pillow” top in just a few places so as not to ruin the quilting already done. BRILLIANT! Thanks again for sharing!
I've been wanting to do this since I was it at a craft fair, but did't know how it folded into the sleeve and how to make it work. Now I know! Grand kids are all getting one!
Love the quail low tutorial! I had one years ago (to many to count) and was looking for a pattern to make one for my grandkids! It's nice to see a video tutorial on this! Thanks!
I love your tutorials. You are so REAL! I especially appreciate your "parenting moments." Thanks for this tutorial. I can't really pick a favorite although I can pick the tutorials that I think are most useful for me. Because of you, I am growing in my free motion quilting. I am not at the contrasting thread stage yet, but will hopefully get there. This tutorial is great and I can't wait to make it!
Thank you for this tutorial Rob, it's a great idea to make for my grandchildren (my 12th to be born in November) so they can have sleepovers at friends and relatives.
I love your videos. One word for this project - Fabulous! In addition to our gift to our 4 granddaughters, I have always tried to make them something. This will be their Christmas 2016 homemade gift. Thanks!
I have one my cousin made for me almost 20 years ago. I also found one at a thrift store. Love them both but have been afraid to make one. You've inspired me!
FOr some reason I've always had a hard time understanding how to fold the quilt back into the pillow. It made sense to me when you did it. Thanks! I love your energy! I am a new subbie
Great tutorial ... as usual. Made one years ago ... keep it in the car. (On trips and God forbid just in case of an accident or breakdown). I like the idea of the "tacking" it 3 or 4 places on each side of the pillow ... does help with folding it back up. Great for overnights at friends for your kids. Also, lay on the couch, place it upside down and tuck your feet in the quillow pouch to keep them warm. ;)
I made these pillows with Christmas fabric and gave them as part of a "rob your neighbor" Christmas exchange. They were easy to make and the recipients seemed to really like them.
I'm getting ready to adapt this for some belated holiday presents. I've got some winter fabrics for the tops. I like the idea of not sewing the whole sides of the pocket so you can turn it more easily! Thanks for all of your tutorials
Love this tutorial. Have always wanted to learn how to do this to a quilt...and now I know! Thank You so much and You made it so easy! Now, I have to make 3 of them!
Love it is the first one I have seen with video on how to make and I love the design too I will adventure to make this I am new at quilting and this looks like I can do it. Thank you for the video.
OOOOO & WEE HEYYY HW DID U KNOW I WAS JUST LOOKING @ ANOTHER QUILTER MAKING A QUILLOW U R SO-OO AWESOME. THANX 4 SHARING YOUR TUTORIAL VERSION. I ADORE IT VERY MUCH
Thanks Rob, once again, you do not disappoint, mine will live in the car... thing is, will have to name 2 one for myself, and one for my darling husband
What a perfect pattern to practice free-motion quilting! Since solids are used, the quilter can actually see what she is doing. :-> Hoping to win the iron giveaway to cheer me up, since we have no access to phone/Internet at home. Yes, I am one of those old-fashioned people with no cell phone. :->
This is so cool. Every quilt I make for nieces and nephews from now on will be a quillow.
Love this. Just learned about a quillow as a quick quilty gift. Your option of the corner tacked "pillow" makes so much sense and is easier! Thanks Rob

Thanks for the quillow lesson and pattern. I'm going to make one for Father's Day. My Dad will love it in NASCAR fabrics.

+Sue Golob Be sure and send us photos! We can't wait to see!!
