In my opinion, Scott the woz has a lot of potential not just in the Nintendo community, but in the RUclips comedy community in general. He’s already gaining a big fan base very rapidly in a short amount of time. He makes original and funny content that can one day surpass the popularity of the AVGN, Jontron, etc
Hey! This is (the former) MasonOfDelfino. This was extremely well put together. Just to clarify, TheYoungCalves is a completely different group of creators using my old channel. I appreciate the mention, though. I haven’t done RUclips since that channel became TheYoungCalves. I’ve been doing freelance work. Lots of video editing and thumbnail creation, filming, anything you can think of. I really am thankful that my old channel did set me on my career path. I have tons of friends in the community still, but my channel always felt like home. Loved the video, man. Hopefully the next gen of Nintendo creators will rise up 🙏

This was genuinely a good video. The one thing i noticed, “The End of and Era.” This is something that- rlly hit home for me. CND was my hero, the person i looked up to when no one else believed in me. His Vlogs, His Videos, His Love for NYC, and my love for the city as well, really made me feel like i had a connection with Alex. Etika.. i didn’t personally watch him, but i did know of the streams, the hype, and the joy he brought with everything he did for the gaming, and Nintendo community. And when he passed, i knew the community would never be the same. Rest in Power Desmond.
I have never in my life felt more affected by the death of someone the way I did when Etika died. I had some family members and people I was acquainted with pass away, but never anyone I had a very close relationship with. Etika literally felt like a friend. He was the type of guy who would tweet back at you if you tweeted at him. He tried his best to communicate with the fans while he was streaming. When Etika went live, you felt like you were almost obligated to put aside what you were doing and join the stream. Because you just didn't know what this man was going to do! The community he built together with the JoyConBoyz is beautiful. It felt like this golden era for the Nintendo community online, particularly for the more mature crowd. And then it was all over. Rest in Peace Desmond Amofah. Gone but never forgotten.

being a person who couldn't afford a switch at launch i was introduced to alex and loved his content. Around mid 2018 i fell off tithe nintendo hype train and jus forgot about alex. A few weeks ago i remembered him and looked him up and saw he was not looking to good these days. i'm glad u made this video to fill in the history of how he got there

i bursted into tears watching this masterpiece, i can’t believe that it has ended so fast, i remember waking up so hyped to a new cnd blog, those were gold times… And about etika, i literally can’t man, everytime i think about him i instantly get emotional, i miss him so fkng much man, this really is something we ain’t ever getting back and it sucks, i loved all the moments and i only wish that they could last a little bit longer.
Etika was one of my fav content creators on the platform. Miss him so much. After his first breakdown i remember him saying it was all dark humor and didnt mean any of it. I feel so bad because after the first incident i didnt believe he was actually struggling mentally especially since he kept getting released from mental hospitals after each breakdown. I still wish there was just some way we could have prevented it dude

Very good analysis on Nintendo RUclipsrs of the past like Etika and CND and how maintaining their mental health was a big obstacle for them in their rise to RUclips popularity. More people need to understand the stresses involved in running a RUclips channel and how that can affect a person's mental health. CND and Etika are examples of how important it is to not just take care of yourself physically, but mentally too, no matter what your job role is. Whether you are a janitor or a CEO of a fortune 500 company, your mental health needs to be taken care of for success to be sustainable. Good video and I wish you the best of luck on your channel! :D
Such a great video! While watching I couldn't help to feel sadness. It's hard to believe that just some years ago I was watching CND throughout the launch of the Switch and actually hyped me up so much and introduced me much more to Video games as a whole! But hey, everything has an end but I couldn't believe it had to be so soon. With his newer content I don't feel like it's him anymore, just livestreams that feel kinda soulless. Thanks for the amazing vid, honestly you seem to make great content!
This was a fantastic video. CND and Etika were my favorite youtubers for so long, so to lose both of em in 2019 was painful, especially Etika. I think the biggest take away is that we really have to remember that these creators are just regular people. I had the pleasure to meet CND in 2021 and he's such a nice guy. The person he was in 2017 is still there, but he's not forcing himself to do things he doesn't want to. This video was made in 2020 so I guess it doesnt have the context of some of his newer content, but as much as I miss the daily vlogs, he seems a lot happier. 2017 and 2018 had such great content but he was always stressed, and looking back you can tell. With Etika, there are so many different opinions on how his death could have been prevented, but honestly as much as I hate to say it, he needed to leave social media. A lot of people treated his mental health as a joke and made him feel like nothing. He kept going to mental hospitals but immediately went back to doing what made him so mentally horrible. Maybe in a way, this is showing what could have happened to CND if he kept forcing himself to do content while he was not in the best state mentally. I miss Etika a lot and I really wish there was something we could have done to stop his suicide. Nintendo RUclips hasn't been the same in years, and I feel like their passion being missing is partly why I haven't been nearly as passionate for the company as I was years ago. I am still a Nintendo fanboy at heart, but the excitement I got when a new game or a direct got announced isn't the same since I don't have new content from these two to look forward to

Those videos you highlighted are very nostalgic. And of course, may Etika continue to Rest In Peace. It’s such a shame that we lost him at such an early age.
I thought this was a really well put video, but that comment about Alex where you say “how much does he really respect us” made me feel some kinda way. At the end of the day man Alex or any of these Nintendo content creators don’t owe you a dime. Interests change and shit happens that’s life man. Do I believe he made some impulsive decisions, yes, but these were decisions Alex made and truly felt fine with them. All I or any of us can do is wish him the best with whatever he chooses to endeavor in next and hope he is taking proper care of himself.

Your video was great! Hope to see you blow up! I agree with you that since Etika died the community hasn’t been the same and has arguably been more toxic. This might be a result of the lack of positivity from CND/Etika and due to Nintendo beginning to be more greedy/anti consumer. Hopefully the community gets better. I have nostalgia for the 2017-2019 switch era and I know I will never forget about Etika as long as I live.
I hope to one day to have a relevant channel, of me playing showing out Nintendo gameplay, because Etika and Cobanermani456 were both inspirations of mine.
Very well put together. I’ve been through a situation where I had an old RUclips channel with the same name as the one I’m using now. It had 3000+ subs and hundreds of short films and gaming content. Unfortunately that was terminated wrongfully just for being linked to another terminated channel. But that’s when I made a whole new account. It doesn’t have nearly as many subs as it did before but the best we can all do is keep pushing forward. Just like these newer Nintendo Video Creators

Good video, but in my opinion Alex hasn't done anything bad. Creators shouldn't have the responsibility of uploading. RUclips is very demanding and most creators just do it as a hobby while working or doing other ventures. I agree that he should have informed his fans about whether he was okay, because he had everyone worried. However, I think it's okay if he decided to stop uploading. It's such a shame, Nintendotubers back then would make Let's Plays, RUclips Poops, Reactions, Unboxing of Consoles, Games and Amiibo figures, ECT and How I'd enjoyed these types of content, now adays it's just "LEAK CONFERMED, Nintendo Switch 2 will LAUNCH in 2024 with SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY 2 METROID PRIME 4 and MARIO KART X, PYORO HAS SPOKEN!" with a clickbait thumbnail of Pyoro from Warioware, a fake Switch 2. Sad to say etikas pain was caused by no one but himself. If he would stick it out with his contract or get a lawyer involved to get out of said contract and not get his RUclips channel deleted permanently I guarantee he would still be around today.

It was nice discoverying youtube before the 2010s, when nintendo youtubers would just do random videos with a more casual feel to it. No schedule pressure, companies where not involved,...The days of Azureblade49, protonjon, cthulhuigi or even the "history behind super smash bros. Melee" series helped me discover all the older games i couldn't find on official media... The 2010s turned part of youtube into a battleground for big companies and their fans...

Good video, but in my opinion Alex hasn't done anything bad. Creators shouldn't have the responsibility of uploading. RUclips is very demanding and most creators just do it as a hobby while working or doing other ventures. I agree that he should have informed his fans about whether he was okay, because he had everyone worried. However, I think it's okay if he decided to stop uploading. Even though it also broke my heart

It's such a shame, Nintendotubers back then would make Let's Plays, RUclips Poops, Reactions, Unboxing of Consoles, Games and Amiibo figures, ECT and How I'd enjoyed these types of content, now adays it's just "LEAK CONFERMED, Nintendo Switch 2 will LAUNCH in 2024 with SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY 2 METROID PRIME 4 and MARIO KART X, PYORO HAS SPOKEN!" with a clickbait thumbnail of Pyoro from Warioware, a fake Switch 2.
I wish We can go back to wholesome content from Nintendotubers that talk about the upcoming games, unboxing of consoles, games, amiibo and Nintendo Merch, reactions to the new trailers and let's plays of Nintendo games instead of scumbags like SwitchForce, Nin10doland, Mike Odyssey and Nintendo Prime who just clickbait for viewers with no effort put into them.

Man I know... While there are many nintendo RUclipsrs like Nathan and Scott the woz, Etika was the only one I liked! He was the only one that would make me feel hyped for Nintendo stuff! Now am like meh that game will come out. It's really sad, I just moved forward with my life since then, but still been a Nintendo fan and looking forward to the future games!

Sad to say etikas pain was caused by no one but himself. If he would stick it out with his contract or get a lawyer involved to get out of said contract and not get his RUclips channel deleted permanently I guarantee he would still be around today.
I'm truly mad for the fact that they didn't give Etika the respect he deserved in the 2019 Rewind, that man brought joy and happiness to the entire Smash Community, and that game brought so many people together, the audacity that RUclips has astonishes me.

It was nice discoverying youtube before the 2010s, when nintendo youtubers would just do random videos with a more casual feel to it. No schedule pressure, companies where not involved,...The days of Azureblade49, protonjon, cthulhuigi or even the "history behind super smash bros. Melee" series helped me discover all the older games i couldn't find on official media...
The 2010s turned part of youtube into a battleground for big companies and their fans...
