Catherine Tate and David Tennant really did have absolutely phenomenal chemistry together.
She’s my favorite companion of the revived series. Before that it was Leela, companion of the 4th Doctor who got off on Galafrey.
And they still will ;)
Catherine is so great. There's nothing in acting at which she doesn't excel. I copied her "pockets" manner and lines from this Dr Who episode and I love the warmth she exudes w other Dr Who characters, esp the female companions. Nothing more endearing than a person who is innocent of jealousy.
They're back for the 60th anniversary
how could you leave out the best part:
- I'm in my wedding dress!
- Yes, an you look lovely, now COME ON!
YESS🤣🤣🤣
Loved Donna because she was like a big sister to the doctor instead of falling in love with him
YES! sick and tired of that other dynamic with the companions. except for river. donna and river were the best.
@@samanthanickson6478 Agreed!
Honestly at the start of season 4 I was so damn excited to see Donna again because seriously David and Catherine have such great chemistry together like they just work naturally together and just seeing Donna like excited to join the doctor and them just having a natural bond together that's just so it goes beyond being best friends It just feels sort of kind of like a familial bond like brother and sister honestly I just really can't wait to see more of season 4 cuz I already love it so far
Well siblings often love their siblings so she still loved him, just differently.
When it was announced Catherine Tate would be a companion I thought it was insane. Brilliant Shakespearean actress, comedic actress, I just couldn't see her in the role. I was so wrong and she was Fantastic! The chemistry between her and David Tennant was outstanding. I'm so glad that they do Big Finish together too ❤️
And now they revealed they’ll be working together again on screen
@@TieflingKumasi I know! I can't wait to see it 😊😊
Something about a mother screaming about her kids is so primal and to have that coming from a sadistic alien spider is one of my most remembered scenes from this good writing. I miss these days
Saw this episode for the first time today, and that definately stood out,
I love the delivery of the "Santa's a robot" line, like she just went through a lot of stuff on her big day and the robot is the cherry on top lmao
Seeing the TARDIS is a high speed chase was awesome.
Seeing his slapdash "BANG!" String and duct tape method of navigation and driving is hilariously on point, too! No wonder he so infrequently comes out when and where he intends to
Yes. I felt the terror. How many of us, save kidnap victims, would be believable playing a girl who has to get away from someone who would surely kill her, by performing a feat that would probably kill her? Then taking the "no choice" choice. (Especially w children watching!)
Something clever I just noticed is that the name "The Doctor" means nothing to the Queen, unlike many other Who villains, because she's been hibernating so long she isn't aware of of the stories about him.
It's only when he reveals the name of his planet that she realises how screwed she is and that she should have taken the "silly, little doctor man" more seriously.
Love Donna she is the funniest companion in doctor who
Well she is coming back with the 10th doctor
It's crazy that this episode was originally meant to be a one-off, but it still ties in so brilliantly to what Donna and the Doctor would become to each other. In a single episode, Donna saw the Doctor and understood him better than many companions ever do. And that connection they had carried through so beautifully into series 4.
When Donna realized that the Doctor despite being a good man, is capable of terrible cruelty
Do you think that's cruel, Angelo?
17:35 "order from mr saxon, fire at will" the master and the doctor working together to kill the last of the arocnos.
Maybe that was the actual saxon before the master replaced him?
@@B0K0691I find it more likely the Master did it to prevent his plans from being interrupted
"Santa's a Robot!" One of my favorite lines from doctor who! XD
A sonic screwdriver as an intergalactic American Express card. 😁❤️
Donna never screams unnecessarily, no little girl, a proper grown woman, what's more she sees through his over enthusiasm. ❤️
5:00 to 5:15. Donna's facial expressions, until she's had enough and slaps him. Again. Brilliant.
I loved how Donna and the Doctor develop a brother and sister relationship later on in the series because in this special she thinks that the doctor kidnapped her and he’s trying to figure out how did she get on his ship while he is space.
Once she decides to become his companion in Partners in Crime she becomes his little sister and he’s her big brother and vice versa she’s the big sister and he’s her little brother. She also becomes motherly and protective when the doctor gets into trouble, It’s also the same for the Doctor he too becomes fatherly and protective when Donna is in danger as well.
it really says a lot about the quality of this episode that you can make an 18 minute highlight real from it
17:37
I just realized that they foreshadowed The Master/Harold Saxon in this part
I loved the girl Master and I love the actress too. Nobody played a character like her. She was Dr Who's most adorable bad girl. I wish she did a spin off.
That moment when you realise it was The Master and The Doctor that defeated the Racnoss
This is the first episode of new Who I ever saw . I was brutally hung over after a company Christmas party and this really helped .
Donna really had no idea how much power she had.
Who’s idea was it to post this? Was it Nerys? This has Nerys written all over it.
Oh my GOD; She's finally got her revenge on Donna!
16:31 This is one of the darkest scenes in this episode; The Doctor's steel stare of genocidal fury, The Empress's unholy demonic screaming in anguish, and Donna realizes that this is just more than an alien Empress, but something more. But the doctor shows NO MERCY to those who arouse the fury of a timelord.
The wrath of the timelord is terrifying.
The quiet wrath when he smeared the prime minister and cost her her job was far more terrifying to me. Besides, I thought she did the right thing.
@@grandmalovesmebesthow was that the right thing to do? They were running away
Please bring Catherine Tate back in any capacity. Preferably as Donna Noble, but she can return as the Dalek emperor, a K-9 fembot, the Doctor, the voice of the TARDIS, or whoever. Her talents should no longer go unutilized.
Congrats! You got your wish! She’s confirmed to be coming back to the show. Good times ahead!
Id watch any episode w CT, esp as DN
Pretty decent cut. You have my respect for putting this together
Imagine if Donna actually tried to sue the Doctor.
I love David Tennant as the doctor.
You know who to look full movies?
Chris is my doctor, but I already thought him an awesome actor before Dr Who. When I saw he would be on PBS, I really didn't care what the show was, I tuned in. He was my intro to Dr Who. Have the first 4 collections since 2005.Love them all. Matt Smith amazes me. That wonderful face! Capaldi shines bright when he is doing a monologue on screen alone. David was the same character in Casanova and, as such, was the quintessential lover, but I was disappointed to see him turn up as the very same in Dr Who, though I like the shows anyway. I wouldn't claim he was any great "actor."
I don't have the Jodie series, never saw an episode bc everyone panned them, they weren't on you tube or PBS, that I know of, I'm not in the UK, and I don't buy collections just to complete the set.
Just rewatched this one recently. One of my favorite episodes
Me seeing Catherine Tate in Doctor who after finishing The Office:
Damn, Toby will need plenty of fuel to chase her.
15:12
Tell me if I’m wrong but isn’t that the first time the Doctor said Gallifrey since the revival? Other then that Merry Christmas everyone and take care of you all🎄❄️⛄️💙💙
That's very true!
And a Happy New Year w/o any pandemics.🍸
I like their chemistry, less like two romantic partners and more like two sides of the same coin. Both want to help but if they do, they risk a lot. They’re two different minds with similar ideas and themes, but almost completely different
Loved LOVED Doctor Donna
The Doctor Donna was tops!🙌🏽
The levels of camp and chewing the scenery in British television generally, and Doctor Who in particular, are just unparallelled.

"DONNAAAAAA"
Back when Doctor Who was good.
It never stopped being amazing.
Well, a lot of Whovians said Chris Chibnall's writing was bad. Other than the Timeless Child thing (which I still don't understand) and rendering "The Day of the Doctor" useless, what else did he mess up.
@@irvinreevesinbaraj6134 The dialogue. Was fucking ATROCIOUS.
@@JoshiVlogsOfficial oh I see. I started watching New Who last month and given how Whovians are trashing Chris Chibnall's run, I'm thinking of skipping his series. What do you think?

She kind of disappear in the middle of wedding... Still her family doesn't care much.. And everyone go to the reception and blame her for running away... I find that pretty much unrealistic... If that happen in my wedding, every one would have been in panic. And the video night have gone viral🤣🤣
I would've never let my family forget it
Im actually watching this right now
Ah yes, burning a hole to the center of the earth with a laser in 5 hours (which would take more power than mankind produces in years id guess), somehow getting rid of quite a few cubic km worth of material without anyone noticing (even if it just gased out, the hole was in a closed building), stabelizing the shaft (its after all over 6.000 km to the core and almost all of it is magma, not to mention the pressure the deeper you go), hitting the ship (that somehow survives the pressure inside the core for billions of years) precisly without damaging it and then the children getting those 6.000 km up within a couple of moments (the water wasnt flowing down for long before it hit them). Thats a lot of suspension of disbelieve, but thats Dr Who in a nutshell and i love it (well until Chipnel and Whittaker). 🙂
17:37 Mr saxon? Either doctor who is pitch perfect with continuity or I'm dumb
Yes they do
the whole thing
Hearing the Racnoss' children is excruciating. The Doctor is without a doubt a tyrant, an immoral malicious tyrant who knows no bounds of his motivations.

I still dont understand what the huon particals do and why feeding then to donna would help thw spider lady?
I think actived huon particles awaken the spider babies in hibernation, but they need a living (and excited, if Doctor's rambling is to be believed) being to activate, hence Donna
@@ectojerk6928 ah i see, i now understand what huon particals do, and why a spider lady needs them

How To Make Balance Of Good And Bad Extremely Pure Good Moral
1. Invent time machine.
2. Travel to 22nd century.
3. Invent a machine that can change probability to make probability certain that Balance of Good and Bad is Extremely Pure Good Moral Forever.
WOT!?
Aside from the episode and doctor who being brilliant, this small scene cracks me up. The actress has got that expression perfectly.

back when doctor who was fantastic then went downhill from 2010 onwards
Facts after David Tennant it started well then halfway through Amy pond era got stale and boring, then Clara era was good again but not peak Tennant then we had Peter Capaldi who I stopped watching halfway through his first series, thank gosh I didn't watch after that
