Melodifestivalen is a 6 week long tour, every week a new city and new arena. They will be in Gothenburg and Scandinavium next week.
This year it will be 7 because they added a 5th group stage/semifinal.
Nope, there are 5 semifinals, but at the end of the fifth there is another qualification, then a final. But still just a total of 6 weeks
@@drigerdranzer7514
@@drigerdranzer7514but the run-off (replacing semi) is held together wirh 5th heat, so 6 shows and weeks.
Yes, but they have changed the concept this year, so there will be 5 qualifying shows, were 2 songs from every show qualify directly the final, and number 3 and 4 from every show get to wait until a new vote at the end of show 5 where the public chooses between the 10 songs (3 & 4s from every show) to pick 2 winners that get to join the other 10 already qualified to the final, making it 12 songs in the final aka the 6th show.
There is a total of 30 competitors in Melodifestivalen 2024.
Heat 1 to 5 where position 1 and 2 in each heat goes to the final round, then position 3 and 4 of each heat goes to a qualification round after heat 5 where two winners goes to the final.
Schedule
Heat 1 - MALMÖ, 3 February
Heat 2 - GÖTEBORG, 10 February
Heat 3 - VÄXJÖ, 17 February
Heat 4 - ESKILSTUNA, 24 February
Heat 5 as well as qualification round of 3-4 positions to pick 2 winners- KARLSTAD, 2 mars
FINAL - 12 competitors, Stockholm Friends Arena, 9 mars
Yes we vote every week, and in the final week there is also an international jury.
The Naked guy never speaks. Just looking good. thats his roll.
You guys actually had something similar just a few years ago called You Decide. Måns Zelmerlöw was one of the hosts haha.
Not all Swedes love Melodifestivalen, but I am happy for the people who do, which is pretty much the rest of my family. I just like people being excited about things, even if it's not for me. I love listening to someone who's passionate about a thing, I try to soak up that positive energy. I don't love Melodifestivalen but I love the vibe. :)

Ahh ok thanks for explaining :). I will be watching the performances from last night during this week :)
Melodifestivalen 2024
3 Feb: Malmö Arena, Malmö
10 Feb: Scandinavium, Göteborg
17 Feb: Vida Arena, Växjö
24 Feb: Volvo CE Arena, Eskilstuna
2 Mar: Löfbergs Arena, Karlstad

Eurovision Song Contest 2024: 7, 9 & 11 May, Malmö Arena
We have the televote for the qualifying rounds, and both the televote and international juries for the final.
You asked who goes and wins Eurovision Twice. There is only one person who has managed that, Johnny Logan who won for Ireland in 1980 and 1987.
The group with the blonde shirtless guy is a satire band called “det vet du” literal translation of the band name to English is “you know this”
This video is a couple of years old, as we all can tell, because the next Eurovision will not take place in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
It is happening very soon now. Mello Is what they call it her now. It is really big here. Not so much for me, but i know that it is a big deal for a lot of people here in Sweden :D We will probably win, maby :P. Sweden have some amazing artists/singers. We take this very serious :D
U have to react to swedens entry for eurovision 2024 Marcus and Martinus and the song Unforgettable
IT starts tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That band is called ”de vet du”, they’re pretty fun 😂
I am one of the few in this country who do not like melodifestivalen, never had, and probably never will. xD I am not a very competative person, so that's probably why and I hate getting into discussions where one can never win. Like... musical taste is each and every person's own. Why would I hate someone because they have a bad taste in music? And to top it all, make a competition out of it... Like wtf?!
Oh also, the legendary Max Martin is often writing many of these songs that people perform in this competition. xD
I don't think Max Martin has written that many songs neither for Melodifestivalen or for artists competing in other national finals though. He did for E-Type in 2011 and for a Luxembourg song in 2014 I think. That's about it. Maybe you confuse him with Thomas G:son, they both have long hair.
@@lightwalker7123 Oh yeah, might actually be that... xD
The video you reacted to is obviously not from this year, but from 2017. (That's why they talk about Kiyev.... This was before the war.)
The final winner of Melodifestivalen 2017 and subsequent Swedish entry to ESC 2017 in Kiyev was Robin Bengtsson and the song "I can’t go on".
Distances are often shorter than you’d think. The circumference around the equator is only 40 000 k and that’s as far as it gets at most. Within Europe probably max 3000 k.
He didn't mean club like in a nightclub, he meant like in an association. They are both called klubb in Swedish. I know because I am also a member.
I’m in Gothenburg at the moment btw. I can confirm it’s the best Swedish larger city.
Liverpool did an amazing job last year! The big Eurovision final 2024 in Malmö in May.
I love the Finnish equivalent UMK more. I watch only the final from Mello. I will be in the live show in this years UMK, it takes place in Tampere 10th of February, so pretty soon, sooooo excited!!
Only SVT loves it. Most of us swedes usually ignore it.
I haven's seen the crap since 1975, except for a few seconds here and there of course.
We have Same In Finland. YLE is similar To SVT. They have UMK ( uuden musiikin kilpailu) = Competiton of the new music. Never whatched and don't know who carnes it. Waste of taxes
Yawn. It’s one of the most watched program after Donald Duck each year so obviously you’re in the minority here. Usually around 2.5 - 3M watch the final.
Don't really agree with you but understand where you come from, to begin with that video probably came out in 2015 or 2013 or 2014. Somewhere around there and it was a popular period of Medlodifestivalen. It was under the golden Melfest era! Today you might be a bit right, the interest for Melodifestivalen have declined a bit with less good songs overall, less serious writing, less professional hosts with too childish 5 year old humor. But if Melodifestivalen were to not still be popular then it would not be the most watched show. It actually is the most watched show in Sweden under it's season. So your opinion is actually in a minority.
No need to project your personal dislike for Melodifestivalen here. Not everyone care about the best qualiy music it's just for fun no matter if it's good or not. Don't wanna hear the politics that takes place affect us, Melodifestivalen is actually still a good show if one can allow themself to lighten up. Later on ESC is the more fun and interesting show but Mello even if just a shadow of it's former self is still a great fun, well it can be. Some years have been worse than others.
If you havent since it since -75 -49 years ago It means that You are very old an therfore think it´s crap
@@markusolofzon That means that around 7.5 to 8 millions don't watch it. So perhaps you should look up the word "minority".
First semifinal is in held in Malmö, yes where Eurovision 2024 is going to be.
Some of the entries presented are now vulgar and tacky, making "Mello" less watchable.
Two really good entries that made it all the way but were "snubbed" for various reasons are Cornelia Jakobs - Hold Me Closer and The Mamas - Move
Voting, yes!!
Sam Ryder❤ He should have been the winner!! Love from Norway.
Melodifestivalen - a stunt we love to hate. A tacky small-town phenomenon that anyone who cares about their reputation pretends not to have seen (in nine cases out of ten - they have). In recent years it has developed into a monster, with an endless series of contests where the quality of the music is pretty okay, even if the artistry has its flaws. But... I guess that as long as Sweden wins or gets top places, there is no chance of escaping the whole thing.
Most people don't really care, they watch it but it's not a big deal. Many people hate it, but yeah sure I have to watch it, can we go on to something more interesting?
I have tried to warn you that there are a lot of hours that you commit to watching if you are going to follow the whole race (10h broadcast spread over six weeks). If I were you, I'd focus on just watching the finale night, but now you've been warned and do as you please.
Ha thanks for the warning, I might just cover a few acts I like a week maybe. 😂
I don't see myself as a big eurovision/Melodifestivalen-nerd but when the time comes I alwys sit there with snacks and Coke infront of the TV
It is today
Malmö tomorrow
Tonight is semifinal 1 live from Gothenburg. Smash into pieces will compete.
Malmö, not Gothenburg.
