It is a lovesong to her husband. You really feel what she sings even if you don't understand the swedish lyrics.

Last time something like this won Eurovision must have been "Ein bißchen Frieden" for Germany in 1982.
Everyone knows including her and the people putting her in the contest, that this isn't going to win, or even qualify, in Melodifestivalen, It's nice, pleasant and cute and that's it.
One must always remember that it's not 30 songs in Melodifestivalen that's like "In it to win it", a lot are just there to get a platform to a wider audience, and they're there to get a mix and variety of song genres. I know a lot of international viewers don't always get that and are like "Is this the best you got?", and don't really understanding Melodifestivalen, thinking it's just a selection show for Eurovison. It's so much more than that, it's a show of it's own, and it's about gathering all ages, and having something for the 3 year old as well as great grandma, like a smörgåsbord.
This came last in all the different age groups using the app, only those calling in gave it a second to last place.

Let alone last time we sent something akin to this we didn't even qualify for the final. Obviously as hosts we will be in the final this year, but we take Eurovision way to seriously to not send something we feel have a great shot at doing well as a top 5 song at a bare minimum. Sometimes we do well, sometimes we place outside top 15, sometimes we hit the bulls eye and win the whole dang thing. And that's just how Sweden roll in Eurovision.

I remember 2010 Anna Bergendal, cute girl with a guitarr. Didn't go that well for Sweden that year.

@@lightwalker7123 And Anna was far better than this singer I must say. So that says a little how little impression this kind of songs do in a field of all kind of songs. But I do think there are some that could do really well. But it has to be world class to do that.

@@lightwalker7123 "sometimes we place outside top 15" it's been 14 years since Bergendahl didn't qualify, and 15 years since Sweden was in the final, but outside the top 15. A lot of people watching Eurovision doesn't remember (or was too young to watch, or not even alive) back in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009 when Sweden ended up in places 18-21, just because we wanted to send something "different".
I think that a lot of Swedes voting in Melodifestivalen _doesn't_ think one bit about Eurovision, or sending something that they think will do well, but just vote for someone they like to win. Like we almost sent Anders Bagge with a dated boring song in 2022, instead of Cornelia, with one of the best songs we ever sent to Eurovision, imho, just because he's such a beloved TV-personality. We would've been out in the semis then, for sure. So thankful that we have international juries in Melodifestivalen that saved us from that!

Just a heads up if you have not experienced it yet.
If the song is still competing (as in it will go to Semi-finals or straight to finals) it will be up on RUclips for 1 week and then taken down. This is according to Melodifestivalen rules. Seen other Reactors comment that Melodifestivalen sent takedown notices or warnings because if songs are allowed to be up and listened to longer than others it could be unfair advantage for those in Quarter Final 1 over those in Quarter Final 4. So I think you can react to them but don't upload until you know that a song is voted out of the contest!
Just to save you some hassle with claims and other issues with uploads! =)

You should watch Björn Gustafsson, a comedian who became famous after his comedy bits in melodifestivalen 2008. He made a comeback to melodifestivalen for the first time since 2008 and it was absolutely hilarious, the crowd still loves him!

Then you should check out the Norwegian Melody Grand Prix 2024 winner Gåte - Ulveham. Dark folklore sounds with heavy metal beats and a good singer having vocals and telling a 1000 year old norse story.

The best thing about Melodifestivalen is the interludes "mellanakterna".
