If you do a pre-painting tutorial, please show what would happen if someone decides to paint before cleaning/sanding the nub-marks. Most tutorials show "clean this before painting" but not many explain "why" or "this will happen if you paint without cleaning the nub mark". Please give some examples.

Loved the outtakes at the end. I'd love to see a tutorial on panel lines. Something that includes planning the placement and the 3 lines rule. Also a lot of the tutorials on youtube cover panel lining, but fail to cover proper technique and handling of the tools. I think a lot of people struggle with the chisels because they apply too much force, or incorrect force. Thanks again for the vids.

Would love to see getting rid of nubs! I spent a lot of time sanding off the nub and trying to get the perfect piece. However, it always takes a very long time, do you have any tips for getting rid of nubs. I saw in your videos you always cut the runner to get a piece off? Is there a reason behind? Do need the crisp sound or easier nub cleaning? XD

@@frankhu6922 for me what always worked for nub removal was to cut it semi close with my nippers, and then to remove the rest with my precision blade. You still have to do a little sanding, but it looks clean when finished.

A more intermediate trick: Cut at an angle the female and/or male plugs of two pieces like the shield in 4:15. Do not cut the whole plug off and do not cut all of the top off. If you cut a little piece of the pegs, you can remove some friction that holds the pieces together. If you don't remove too much it will keep the pieces together, but it will be a lot easier to remove. This is also a good idea if you plan on rubber cementing the two pieces together anyways.

Thanks for the tutorial & tips .. I always wonder how u just open all parts so easily .. sometimes even thought u actually throw it to slit it open like Lego...
Btw can I get a tutorial how to fix parts that are broken ... got a few joints or parts broken & even tried super gluing / cementing but didn’t hold because it is a moving part

if you can teach on how to separate different type of connections, that would be great! for example: those frustrating C-type connection

Ah I didn't cover any specific type of joints or attachment instead it's more about the methodology 😊

Question, would you recommend dissemble of lets say the MGEX or a kit with wired LEDs? It was a challenge to get them just right and now wishing I had painted before hand...
Keep these tutorials coming, you're doing a great job

I never though of drilling thruster parts to separate the inner pieces. BADNAI may even come up with a way to modify to make this easier. In the meantime that is a useful method.

Thank you! Year I kinda regretted after snap building them. And then had to take extreme measures to get them out to paint those separately. Definitely a pain in the butt but it's all worth it 😊

I really like your videos man, keep up the good work.
Personally the best advice I could give is to cut the male pegs down diagonally during assembly. This way it's going to be much easier to pull everything apart before painting.

    • @StudioGundam
      @StudioGundam  4 года назад

Yup! And there's that technique too! But I do feel like that's too much of a hassle and might risk the part becoming too loose. However I didn't try that myself so I can't teach whatever I don't know hahaha 😂 the last thing I want is to bullshit about something that I don't know about 😂😂😂 but hey the peg cutting is good! 😊

Will you blame if I said that I really thought you'd just let it drop on the table them BAM! Instant disassembly hahaha. Kidding aside, this was helpful. Incredibly so. I was those dumb enough to use the thinest kitchen knife like say a filleting knife to give enough room so my nails can slip through the seams.

Awww thank you! For small pieces, the hobby knife technique is the way to go. Prying then, wiggling them out, that's all it took actually. And the sequence! Remember to reserve the sequence and you're golden 😊

I just broke a part from my MG Nu Gundam couple of hours before watching this video((( I didn't even get to dissasambly , it just felt wierd how it fitted and I tried to remove it and I broke off a peace of it...and then the other piece of the same part!!!!!(((
It was nothing crucial, just a part of the armor on an arm. I think I can glue it back together no prob later, but it still a shame.
For Tutorial Tuesday I might suggest some manual errors you've encountered or bad designs for certain kits. I think that would be interesting to watch.

@@StudioGundam yeah. I've seen some builders paint while still on the runners or when a piece is assembled. Even some who buy two and complete one to see how it looks completed and sketch out how they want the second one to look. Just throwing out a few things i've seen done because as careful as we can be a part is bound to break then your sorta of sol if you cant glue it back. Still your work on the kits is amazing.
