    Great video. Can’t believe they have issued yet another product with an issue. It’s not good keep issuing detailed models if you can’t run them out of the box.

      I know it's getting a little repetitive

      Yep, same here. These manufacturers have to start incorporating the quality component into the build. This has been going on for several years now, the product may look great, but it's pointless if they fail to function whilst in service. So, no new trains for me now until they sort out the mess they've created.....

      @@TheSps24 My rake of 8 is a mess, I've ended up removing the lighting connectors to each axel (so removing a function that's been paid for) except for the last coach in the rake on one biggie to avail of the tail lamps, they're still not great and now I'm assessing removing the weights that they've put in the carriages because each one remains remarkably heavy, and this could be an issue with the type of axel bearing that's been used to replicate the prototype aesthetics. But all of this on brand new coaches - it's frankly not good enough, and Revolution actually encouraging us to modify/butcher new stock. I had a Caledonian liveried 92 on the way which I've been able to cancel delivery of because I also had issues with a DB 92 bought from them at Warley last year. I will not spend another penny with Revolution.

      Thanks for the detailed reply. This is really rather a sad tale. I like the Revolution concept, I like the people who run the company, I like their ethos. But their product is rank mechanically, they look stunning but for the money they're a rip off. Anyway, two things to ponder on: according to the various model railway groups on Facebook the company can do no wrong, but more importantly you'll never see a video of these long rakes on a layout with points and cross overs, wonder why???

    Hi Dan, that is a great shame as they look really really nice. Hopefully they can run in to be a bit smoother over time. Love the pendulino, looks amazing running on long straits and very realistic on your curves…👏🏻👏🏻.. All the best, Chris

    Hi Dan! The coaches look absolutely stunning, and I love their lighting features! It's so annoying that they have running issues that should have been caught by quality control at the factory! It's not like they're a cheap and cheerful purchase! A detailed coach is one thing, but we don't buy these things to sit on our mantelpiece to admire, we need them to function correctly! Hope you, and Revolution Trains, manage to sort the issue! Good luck! All the best, Ian.

    I was considering switching to N gauge from 00 with these coaches and the 92 being one of the main trains for the layout. Glad I didn't now.

      @@greatdeltan6556 So today I contacted bPost (which is the Belgium's version of Royal Mail) and they basically gave me an answer wait another week and see if we give a **** about your package stuck at Belgian customs. In November 2021 I had a similar situation and after 3 months of basically stringing me along and claiming all kinds off stuff, that package dissapeared from their track and trace without delivery (they lost it) and according to them it is up to the seller to sort stuff out like this (like I the buyer am not allowed to put in charges if they lose an international package only the seller can0;I did manage to get the import fees back from them.
      So I contacted Rails of Sheffield where I had pre-ordered the coaches from; they are going to check with their international shipper; if they can't find it or an answer either it will still be better then bPost standard procedure of not offering any assistance untill the package has either be delivered or lost.

    It might be worth removing each/all wheels on the coaches and placing them back in. I suspect the clips are possibly too tight for the bearing and is pinching them.l, rather than them sitting snug.

    I would be very unimpressed with these if I could even afford them, and would be sending them back after push 1. They look amazing, but that much drag is ludicrous, you will be burning out your locos at an alarming rate. I have 40yr old Lima & Minitrix coaches that if you were to push them as hard as you did with the box, they would have gone half way around your layout at least. I would suggest you send them back to be addressed, because if you make a hash of it, you ain't getting any money back.

    • @greatdeltan6556
      @greatdeltan6556  11 месяцев назад +1

      They are yes and I'm easily able to send these back if need be to them for repair, given the features of the coach, open bogie style and how difficult it is to get a 16 coach rake behind 1 loco I imagine most manufacturers would have issues creating MK5s

  • @MalcolmCrabbe
    @MalcolmCrabbe 11 месяцев назад +3

    Rails have these listed at £230 for a set of 4.... for that sort of money you would expect then to run a lot better than that... Its all well and good having really realistic detail, and magnetically operated lighting, but when they drag like that, so much so that the loco used on these trains (which in real life is very powerful) can not pull it is so poor, especially given the time spent on development.

    Of course the models should not come with faults .
    But if removing and reseating an axle is beyond people’s modelling skills then perhaps n gauge is not for them.
    Took me circa 20 mins to do my rake …
    Be very careful what you wish for, extra QA, like extra functions and detail add to the ,manufacturing costs and will simply be passed on to the consumer.

    • @greatdeltan6556
      @greatdeltan6556  8 месяцев назад

      Have to agree there, and don't see any other manufacturer offering what revolution do

    • @highlandersixtysix
      @highlandersixtysix 8 месяцев назад

      If only it was ‘reseating an axle’ Revolution have failed to follow up, and the fact that there are any number of fixes would suggest that the issues are many. The general idea is that when you shell out considerable sums of cash for a product that fails to deliver, then that’s a bit of a problem. The Class 92 is another example of theirs, launched with decoder overheating issues, inconsistent running, the Class 321, the IWA timber wagons. But then you’re evidently okay with the customer doing the QA work that should’ve been done by the manufacturer, just as you could’ve researched the issues - but that’d take time. If you’re suggesting that what’s being presented is as good as anyone can expect given the money paid then perhaps you should deploy that approach to your next major spend - plane tickets (I’m okay with the door plug disappearing mid-flight), or maybe your new electric car shouldn’t spontaneously combust but hey you can deal with that 🙄
