Getting kind of hard around here to ask tellers for older notes because they no longer keep bills in a draw. A few keystrokes and a machine spits out what you ask for. Progress, yuck. 🙁
They have that where I bank at too, however, I find that if I make the extra effort to go inside, when they aren't as busy, the tellers actually do have drawers too, and they will look and even ask the other tellers to see too. I know this, as I also often ask for 2 Dollar Bills, and they only keep those in the drawers, and sometimes they are like, well no 2s today, but look at this.

Every so often my one favorite local bank finds and saves old currency notes for me. One was a 1934 or 1934 - A . $5.00 silver certificate. haven't had much luck with my credit union. I also find old currency from my job. The cash office keeps an eye out for old paper notes. The latest was a 1934 - C twenty dollar bill. " Sidebar : one day when I stopped by the ice cream shop. one thursday evening. one of the managers .who knows I collect currency. told me that someone spent a * 1929 $10.00 National Bank Note * to buy their ice cream. I didn't get a chance to save it for my collection. another employee snatched it .
Regarding the Counterfeit pen marks on the 2nd $10. I believe that after a while, the marks will fade. I'd give it 10-20 days for it to fade completely. I get 1950-63 FRNs regularly from the bank and 3 out of 4 times, theres text males on them, Thats texas for ya.
Some of my best finds that bank tellers saved for me was a $100 Small Head Binary in 2023, in 2024 a $100 Small head star note of $1.2M, $100 6 In a row, a 1969C and 1981 Small Head $20 bills, and one time a teller gave me $1,000 in small head $10’s and a few days ago a teller saved me and gave me $3,000 in $1’s bills BUT In the federal reserve packs :D It was thank to you, your advice, and thanks to the tellers! :D
Nice! Really enjoy seeing these notes, especially when found in circulation or at a bank. I still pay my rent in cash, and asked for my usual $100s and $50s. Got 3 monochrome $100s this time, but only one was worth hanging on to, as the 1996 looks like it was chemically cleaned (appearance looks kinda like burned parchment paper), and the 2006A that I didn't hang onto was pretty heavily circulated as far as $100s go. Really hoping to get another monochrome $50 next time I visit the bank, as those are the monochrome notes that I see the least of.
Im your biggest fan i have a collection of small head bills but i dont have the 10 dollar i only have 5 20 50 and 100 and i also collect the ones that have the circle around the head.
I can confidently say that the smallhead 10s are definitely still out there. I usually find 2 or 3 an average year. I also catch and release them if they don't upgrade the ones I already have, to give others a chance to find them too.
As much as I am not a fan of crypto, it may not be too much longer before our government gets on the crypto train and eventually stops printing currency so now is the time to search for nice condition and fancy serial number examples
@@GDSavingThePast Not at all. People are just so quick to think the dollar is going away. It’s not. The world revolves around our dollar. Over 75% of all $100 printed circulate outside the U.S.. There are countries that fill their banks with our dollar to back up their own currency. The closest thing would be we just all use credit cards. They could stop printing paper money but the dollar would still exist. I’m not a fan of crypto either. To me it’s a giant pyramid scheme. People love to say our money is backed by nothing. What’s bit coin backed by? Take care!😁

Sold my 1977 $50 dollar star note for so cheap $75 & with fees & shipping costs, came out to $58 buck not counting the packaging. Wish I kept it.

Crypto has nothing to do with it. You can’t spend crypto almost anywhere. But you CAN use a credit card which doesn’t require any money to be printed.

Series from 1996 to 2006 where the person has a large portrait and the note is only 1 color of ink. Monochrome.
