    So they get rid of the ridiculous charging brick and now you need a converter brick for any decent 12v DC power. But they leave the stupid cigarette plug. Someone did not think this through. That 30amp plug was the main reason I got the max.

    • @Fingerprintguy
      @Fingerprintguy 9 месяцев назад +3

      at 4:17 he states that Bluetti will come out with a converter box to drop the 48v to 12 and bump up the amps from 10 to 30. But we have to wait....then purchase....then deal with another addon.... this is really the deal breaker for me as I want to plug it directly into my little RV

    Bought the 200 Max and the 420W solar panel, works perfectly. Though the panel is a bad design so I decided to buy the AC 200p. Had no end of trouble with the 200p. Turned it on for the first time, fault lights everywhere, orange icon for the PV/CAR icon and the AC load icon. Turns itself off at 2:16 every morning and the date is stuck on the 18/1/2020 at 10:4. Absolutely shocking customer support, although kudos to the guy on the phone who tries to help but has no clue.
    It seems like the machine has been sitting in their warehouse for many years and it looks like it might even be a returned item.
    Definitely do not recommend the AC 200p.

    I’m not sure if it was mentioned, but they did in their latest firmware update. The USB-C is to get closer to 100 W when used at the same time. Which seemed to be your only negative thing about this might be a nice little add-on to throw on the screen so people know that. great video.

    It's an interesting move by Bluetti. I have the ac200max and I didn't think there would be another unit in this form factor. Seems to be aimed more at home owners rather than most off-griders. You would need a larger generator to run the 2.4kW charger. In my case (living on a narrowboat in the UK) you also probably couldn't even charge it in a marina as the current is often limited on the shoreline. The 500W brick on the ac200max is perfect for me as I can run it off any generator or my alternator via the boat inverter. Thanks for the review!

    • @johnnysweekends

      I'm also a narrowboat live aboard and have just ordered the AC200MAX (as they've got a cracking deal on it at the moment). Any thoughts/feedback? What kind of appliances do you run off it?

    • @seniorslaphead8336
      @seniorslaphead8336 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@wellyftw You made a great choice. I bought my Max for £1800 when it first came out but they are far less expensive now. The biggest thing I run off it is a washing machine that peaks at 2.2kW for several minutes during the heating cycle. The fan can be a bit noisy and will come on intermittently when the inverter is on irrespective of load or temperature, so it's an idea to put it behind a door somewhere. It will also turn itself on if so much as a single photon hits your panels. It has temperature protection to prevent damage to the battery so it will not charge in sub-zero temperatures, so keep it in an insulated part of the cabin. Enjoy your new boating life with proper power!

    Additional brick for ac200max cost me 200 us, plus 50 us cable, so I geot 900-1000 w charging, which is quite fast
    It's noisy, but whatever, I got used to it, might even miss haha.I just put it far away and I don't see or hear it
    I will keep 200max as it does the job, and paying even extra won't help me much. All I need id 800 watt per hour on average, it suffices
    The tech is developing so fast, that any gen will be outdated, but I guess the earlier gen the more outdated it will be. But let's be happy it helps us whatever version

    I have a 200max and 2 B210 batteries. I like this new unit it addresses some of the shortcomings that I didn't like, the brick, the low solar and ac inputs. I think they should of upped the solar charging upper voltage limit and allow for more wattage. Also it seems I could only use one B210 at a time, I guess the B300s are able to daisy chain and that's the newer version. I liked your video thanks for your work in putting it out.

    • @johnnysweekends

      Yes agree they fixed some of the little issues people didn’t like and 1200 watts is not bad for a small unit. At max your charged in under two hours. Even at half still less than 4 so not bad now.
      If they wanted to make it really killer dual solar would have been real nice.

      @japanham5973 5 месяцев назад +1

      You can connect two B210 extension batteries with an optional cable from the first B210 to the AC200L. Then the second B210 plugs into the second B210 using the supplied B210 standard cable. I have this setup, so I know it works....and Bluetti sells the cable so you can do it. Be careful when ordering to make sure you order the correct B210 > AC200L cable.
      You can connect B210, B230 or B300 to the AC200L.... Page 24 of the manual.

    Liked the idea to get rid of brick and even look past not having chargers on top, but getting rid of the 12 30 forget it . That is a great plug for overlanders one use diesel heater. It provided a secure connection that you didn’t need to worry about becoming unplugged by accident while running and damaging you expensive 1500 dollar heater and I suspect their are other uses people use that for the secure connection. Hey Johnny I have two questions regarding the new AC200L:
    1. Ok, you don't have this charging brick anymore, but with this comes a new port. With the old port you have a 58V input, thus you can also use DC charging enhancer with it, which is an additional external solar charging controller. With this I am able to use two solar panel strings at the 200Max. One at the solar input and one at the brick input with the charging enhancer. In sum up to 1400 watts. 900W solar input + 500W over the charging enhancer.
    The AC200L has 1200W over the solar input, but will they have soon a solution to connect a second solar panel string like with the 200Max? The new port is a 110V input at the end, thus even with an adapter, the DC solar charging enhancer would not work.
    2. The B230 battery at my AC 200Max must be activated separately. It doesn't turn on by a signal of the 200Max when turning it on. With the AC300/500 you don't have this problem.
    Is this problem solved with the AC200L, hence will all connected batteries like a B230 or the new B210 been activated by turning on the main unit 200L?
    Thank you for your efforts!
    Is this

      Unfortunately from the info I have gathered the AC200l will still not turn on the b300 batteries and unfortunately I dont know if they will give a second DC charging option. As 1200 watts is pretty good for charging that little power station. Fast charging constantly can shorten cycle life. But nice to have the option when you wanna quick charge

    I was going to buy the ac 200 max for the 12v 30 amp port to wire my shuttle bus build. But i ended up going with this because of all the updates and faster charging. I hope the 12v 30 amp add on is not expensive.

    Bluetti reminds of apple. Overpriced, constantly taking away the ports people bought the device for in the first place, coming out with things that make zero sense, and making it so you have to buy unnecessary accessories just to do what previous models could do. The 48v thing has got to be dumbest thing they did with this unit. The 12v converter box is just gonna be another way for this company to extract money out of people for their garbage products.
    I hate to be so biased, but I really tried with bluetti on multiple occasions and their units are so cheaply and poorly made. DIY system all the way. Will never go back.
