Cung Le was born in Saigon May 25, 1972. When the Fall of Saigon 1975, Cung Le and his mother Anne left Vietnam by helicopter under heavy gunfire. Le's father stayed in Vietnam and was caught as a political prisoner. Now he lived in San Jose CA. He won the California Junior College State Championship in the 158 lb weight class in 1990 also earning junior college All-American honors. He is a best fighter when he was 25 years old.

They are both American. Jason Yee is ethnically Chinese and born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Cung Le is ethnically Vietnamese. He was born in Vietnam and came to America as a small child during the Vietnam War as a refugee (he and his mother escaped the country days before the fall of Saigon under gunfire). They are both San Shou fighters. San Shou uses techniques from traditional Chinese Kung Fu styles and is used by the Chinese military. In sport form it resembles Kickboxing and allows throws. Cung Le has trained in different forms of Martial Arts. He started out at a school run by a Vietnamese master who taught him Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do. He has trained in Muay Thai as well. He also has a background in amateur wrestling. He said in an interview that he competed in San Shou because he liked the rules. can I have your opinion: do you think the best defense for the low kicks to the shin by Cung Le is to do more of infighting, meaning one must no allow space for him to establish that kick? Jason Ye should have done more boxing than kicking and evading that low kick. do you agree guys? I think Jason should have always bridged the gap between them to prevent Cung to established his low hook kicks to the leg.
Kung Fu is a term used for Chinese Martial Arts which includes many different styles. San Shou is a combat sport developed by the Chinese military that combines Traditional Martial Arts techniques with modern training. So it's basically Kickboxing with throws but kickboxing itself combines punches from boxing and kicks from Martial Arts. I have the full event on VHS which is where I got this fight. The event includes different aspects of Kung Fu including forms, weapons and full-contact fights under San Shou rules.
Judges count was straightforward. The fighter beats the punching bag. Cung Le is quite impressive too. The other guy looked like a little child when he was not a simple punching bag.
There are a lot of difference between the Vietnamese people who lived in the South of Vietnam and the people who lived in the North of Vietnam before 30/4/1975. The Northerner were the Communist and the Southerner were The Nationalist or Capitalist.
Northerners were not communist. They were Northern Vietnamese people. The communist were a political party. Political view point. NOT Northern Vietnamese or Southern Vietnamese.

Cung Lee is the real deal and very well rounded fighter !
can I have your opinion: do you think the best defense for the low kicks to the shin by Cung Le is to do more of infighting, meaning one must no allow space for him to establish that kick? Jason Ye should have done more boxing than kicking and evading that low kick. do you agree guys? I think Jason should have always bridged the gap between them to prevent Cung to established his low hook kicks to the leg.
Jason yee the model of Bruce Lee just good for made movies. They're not really for fight or Boxing. Cung le is really fighters.
Cung Lee is so much bigger and stronger. Props to Jason for doing this fight.

Kung Fu Championships ?? Never did I see any Kung Fu !!!! lots of kick boxing
Because Kungfu is kickboxing... go watch Lei Tai tournaments..
I didn’t even see the deadly snake style nor the ferocity of the Tiger Claw. Lol..
EDGARDO VENEGAS this is Sanshou 🤦🏽♂️
This is supposed to be a kungfu tournament. not an mma match. Right?

what the technic was used at 5:00 minute ?
That was a suplex.
great Cung
O really? Listen and learn. Your daddy lied to you.ruclips.net/video/tixOyiR8B-8/видео.html
Francis Dao I agree with you, perhaps i should make it clearer for other people to understand but i did not want to confuse them, i just want to give them a simple idea at first, going into details take a lot of time and effort and space on youtube.
Commentator: Jason Yee stopped competing in 1974?
He born in 1970. Did anyone caught that.
hahahaha
Jason Yee started punching and kicking while in his mommy's tummy.
VIET Nam..... viet nam..... cung le
I love it when the sportscaster tells Jason Yee to (get the fuck away from him) in mid interview!
ông Trung quốc đá như cào cào búng nhỉ 😂😂😂
Neither are true practitioners of the old art.
They are boxers dancing
Back to the retirement home
Cung le had brutal power even as an older man that time he fought frank and broke his arm with his kicks tho frank kept fighting would of been great to have seen a younger version of him fight mma
