Team two strand!! I’m on my third loc journey and this is the most exciting one so far!😆🎉
I did two strands this is my first time getting locs congratulations on your journey loc❤
I think it’s just a matter of the look you want. I believe coils are better regardless of the texture because even if unraveled, you’re just twisting it and as long as the part stays (which is most important) that’s all that matters. Two strands come out too easily in my opinion… Also, I love that the coils look more like locs instantly
It's mostly the opposite.
Two strands actually stay longer depending on hair texture and how fast it "knots" up
Hey guys Jesus loves you He wants you to come as you are He died for your sins past, present, and future. Just like you said, the coils unravel too quickly. I did my starter locs a few days ago with the two-strand twists. I'm excited to see my hair transition and see the locs thicken and mature one day! ❤
Hey, how are your locs now? I just started mine 3 days ago (June 3,2023)
@@killerzxyz_ It's going well. I'm about 4 mobths in, and I'm really loving the journey. It's really interesting seeing my hair transform the way it has. My locs have thickened up much more since starting them. Just did an ACV rinse yesterday to cleans my hair and help any itchiness I had on my scalp and it worked!
I hope it's going well with you.
@@Penelope416 That’s great, when your started a lot of people say that water can help lock your hair up faster. When did you start washing and how did you make it not unravel? Also if you sprayed water in your hair did it unravel?
@@killerzxyz_ Those are all good questions and comments. Yes water helps your hair to lock up faster. When your hair is wet, it stretches or swells, and when it begins to dry, it compacts or shrinks. You hair has to do this several times--- enough times for it to loc up. After I got my starter locs, I washed it within a month but many people do it within 2 weeks or less. Whatever works for you.
I try spritz water on my hair every day. Spraying it didn't unravel it. Sometimes I will even wet it in the shower. Everyone's hair will react differently but after a few weeks, my hair was locc'd and didn't unravel.
@@Penelope416hey i’m new to loc journey as well june 16th i started only for months when u did the vinegar wash did you add water to the vinegar and what did you use after you rinse the vinegar out 😍😍
I had coils before and then I started over with two strand I’m telling you now two strand is better grows faster doesn’t unlock nun when I had coils it was annoying hair currently 6-7.5 inches long
My 2 strands shrink alot
yess two strand twist or better to me then coil in my opinion they look fuller to me as well they unravel to quick for me
@@sirayran6287that’s just because of your hair texture. I think my hair would shrink worse with coils than 2 strand. 2 strand at least gives me a little stretch! But I’m not pressed either way. My hair is long, shrinkage is just a killer lol! And since it all natural I just accept it as it is. It’ll grow.
@@whoohw1394i have a quest so are you supposed to live in 2 strand twists after every retwist or is it safe to take them out in between?
Thank you for this because I was wondering if the first ones would even last
I started mine with 3strand plats on my long natural hair 2 years later I’m so loving the outcome
How do you maintain three strand plats? I’m asking because that’s how I wanted to start mine but was concerned about retwist day.
@@DaughterofZion1440 Shalum sis! You can retwist your new growth like as if you had started with coils or 2 strand twist. The retwist is all the same. You can also interlock but personally, I don't like the interlocked look.
I STILL don’t know 🤷🏾♀️ I’m leaning towards the coils
💯💯💯
You could start with the coils then finish the loc in a 2 strand
@@LoveJhanelle thank you.
I’m a year in and I went with the two strain.
@@CrystalJanelleTV thank you for responding. I was wondering after I saw that your comment was older. I'm happy it went well for you. I'm about to loc my son's hair, starting with twists.
@@LoveJhanelle YW, NICE! My fiance went with braids. I like that method, too.
Coils is best way and looks better in long run
I started mine with coils (comb twist) and my hair was in natural state.
My mom just did that for me a week ago I’m not sure about when I should retwist and how to
@@charli3nyc I think I got re-twisted every few weeks and it was done with a comb (comb twist).
Me too,8 years later they still look great, uniform and has grown to almost the bottom of my back.
@@courtneymoore3661 ❤️ love it!
I'm n nursing school and I am really considering this. I love the style. I just like a variety of styles decisions decisions lol yall do great work..❤❤here from Texas..❤❤
I’m going through the same thing, def debating…
Hey yall and me too🎉🎉❤❤😂
I started my micro locs with tiny finger coils. I have 440. It was definitely the fasted method and my hair is locking faster as well
More than 2 methods to start… comb coils, 2 strand twist, 3 strand braid/plait, interlock, instalock/crochet, freeform
I'm new to loca but always had cornrows or twists when I was younger. I've always missed my long hair so I have just started with free form twists(by hand, did whole head by myself) I got 4c hair that's probably 1.5'-2' long. I just want my hair to flourish and grow how it feels. I've always taken good care of my hair and it's loved me back for it. Did waves for a couple years and my hair took to that easily. Now, I wanna explore this loc journey and see where my hair and I end up in the next year or two. Wish me luck!
I was told you can coil, twist or braid for starter locs. How do braid starter locs look after their loced? I’m starting my loc journey at the end of February and I’m just trying to get some ideas. So far I’m leaning towards coils. I do want my locs to have a curl at the end
I started with coil and two strand...but after 2 months I did instant locs
I started with twist
Combed out my coils and started over with 2 strand twist last week loving and trusting the process
👑🤎🖤🔥🔥🔥🔥 They’re both very nice and neat ways to start your Locs. Beautiful work !! 💯🤎✊🏾
I did the coil few days ago. I had two strands before and it kept unraveling . I took them out and start over.
Tips to grow hair please
The second one looks like it’s half coiled and then two strand twisted at the end
3rd way: Freeforms ☀️
I prefer coils then two strand twist
Why if you don’t mind me asking?
@@camxdidxthatit looks hard 🔥
Why?Because I'm getting starter coils tomorrow
@@taracunningham6170 sounds great
i prefer twist better they dnt unravel that fast nobody got time for the coil and to me the twist look more thicker in full just my experience
I need help, what kinda products should I use for comb coils? only gel?
Can you do coils and not want locs
Yes you can. You can take them apart after 1-2 weeks. I recommend using oil on your fingers to separate them.
This was the comment I needed!! Love the look of it but not sure if I’m ready to fully commit to locs yet.
I got a question I have a loose texture and I accidentally loc my hair when I did it in faux locs. I kept the weave in the whole summer break and now 2 to 3ins of my hair is lock and the ends is loose like goddess locs! Should I keep it and continue locking my hair or take it down? I mean I love how it looks but if my hair is gonna breakout from that, I rather know now so I can find a way of taking this build up out!
Wow, no dont keep going, unless the loc hair was human hair.
Just started out with coils I have some issues but I usually palm roll them every other day
I love the 2 strand twists
So start with coils & 2 Strand for the retwist for faster hair growth 👍🏾
Would it be possible to do both? First coil then then the 2 strand ?
I want to start my loc journey im transitioning from permed hair , so i think i should do the two strand but my hair is also short any suggestions?
I went with coils … one week starter locs 🤞🏾💯
so i started with 2 strand twist with the root braided im 4 months i was wondering when can i style them as im about to get a retwist
Now which one is best for the hair to loc?
Coils
started mine with 2 twist
Looks like get the coil style but then do a 2 strand twist it up for about a month or so... What do you think?
What product did you use to do the coils? Hair looks great!
Loc God Loc Gel and Loc Jelly
How often do you groom this
Started my locs journey 2 months ago with the coils method and I'm loving it.
Two strand for me
started mines with 2 strand. Currently on 3 years
I been growing my hair for 3 years and it is very long. If I get locs will it be hanging in long or will my hair shrink when it gets into starter locs or overtime?
Your hair will still shrink. I started on waist length hair and I’m 2 years loc’d now and my locs sit on my shoulders currently. So I still lost some length, but now that they’re more mature the length is coming back faster! Hope that helps 🙏🏿!
first I had 2 strand and now I got coils put in 2 strand and it's driving me crazy
I like two strain
I feel like length varies. Personally I like coils yes it can unravel but it locs better
I got coils video up if interested
Coils for sure
Don’t forget instant Locs. Just comb coil the root and use a small crochet needle to loc the remainder of the hair strands.
I have 4a and the coils did not work for me at all I felt like they were unraveling and made my hair too silky to loc
Is it best to start two strand twists skinny and they will turn into medium ? I have 4c hair btw
Also want to know
yea they need to be skinny because they thicken up fast. Depending on your hairstyle, I'd say you'd want at least 70-80 twists.
Her dreads like like they were already budding
I’m doing two strand because of my hair so curly
Finger locing is faster to look like locs
Crochet too
Those two you mentioned is longer to look like locs
Personally my twists unraveled more than my coils
Fr
🤔
Same here that’s why I’m so confused at these comments says coils unravel… I started with 2 strand and had to retwist some within a few days but with my coils none unraveled before my first retwist
💜♾️💜
Two strand be unraveling that’s why I use to have them then I stoped 2 strand
I think you forgot abt palm rolling
Are you located in Ny ?
I need your services
Which method would you recommend for someone doing temporary locs keeping the for 1-2 years?
Coils
WAREHOUSE WITH NO UNDERWEAR ON OKAY OKAY
Get coils it’s faster
Or just instant loc
Do you sell your products in Canada?

So much work and can be irritating in summer.. i am sorry but why not cut it all off or keep it very very short
Your opinion
Let me guess you don't have afro texture hair
