The contract is better then they realize. This contract was a master class. He’s playing this year on the 4th year of his rookie contract + signing bonus, he’s playing next year just on his 5th year option, then the 3 guaranteed years come after that. What makes it perfect is we won’t pay any of this extension money until 3 years from now and by then that 25 a year prob won’t even be top 10 money

Salary cap went up by 30 mil this year. It'll keep going up. 10 states haven't legalized online sports betting yet, CA and Texas are 2 of them, those 2 states have large populations. Plus more competition from streaming services for nfl games. That's a lot of revenue that has yet to be realized.
Every team handles it differently. Eagles retaining guys and bringing new guys in.

I agree, Michael Penix Jr is my second best QB coming out of the draft behind only Caleb Williams. Besides, if you think about it, most lefty QBs succeed in the NFL. Steve Young, Mark Brunell, Boomer Esiason, Tua. Matt Lienart in collage. Who IMO never got a fair shake on any NFL team. Lefties make great quarterbacks. Only Tim Tebow who is probably the worst throwing QB in NFL history.
How are they ahead? Is he winning them a Super Bowl? No. The Chiefs are light years ahead of everyone.
