Trevor Lawrence has had 'some conversations' on contract | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC / nflonnbc - Спорт
People hate on TREVOR LAWRENCE to much
I completely agree with that. He has a little bit of a California-Surfer vibe thing and I’d like to see him get worked up a bit more. But he has a killer arm on him.
Cuz he's mid and was hyped up like a god
@@speedy9313-rv1dmbetter than Justin chokebert
@@Matt1of1 You underestimate how bad Brandon Staley was. It's not like Herbert turned the ball over a bunch of times. Staley choked that game with the piss poor defensive play calling and offensive game plan with a lead.
@@user-iq6cc3df3l Trevor Lawrence went 2-14 before Doug pederson zay jones Kirk and oluokon
Before T-Law got to J-Ville they had picked in the top 10 of the nfl draft 10 of 11 years.
Since he got there
He had
Urben Meyer Rookie Year
Div Title and Playoff win second year
9 wins third year….got hurt and lost last 4-5 games. Missed playoffs.
He’s made the Jags competitive and relevant at least. Much more than Herbert has ever done.
He will get his bag. Cousins has 400 million for one playoff win! The market is crazy for qbs.
Doug pederson zay jones Kirk and oluokon won a playoff games Lawrence threw 4 picks
He is 20-30 with a career 85 qb rating and leads nfl in turnovers please give one reason why he’s worth more than 10 million a year ?
He’s done more for the jags than Herbert has done for the chargers …he deserves more than Herbert for sure
No he hasn’t
@@misinfluence yes he has how many play off wins does Herbert have?
That’s probably true. Herbert though plays on a really lousy team, at least he has. I’m kind of hoping the Chargers improve because Herbert has a cannon on him.
@@user-iq6cc3df3lYou Herbert lovers have all the excuses in the world for him.
@@Demps_904cool then pay baker more, pay joe Flacco more, pay jimmy G more. Playoff wins is not a QB stat. Wins are not a QB stat.
He’s looking pretty toned, seems like he is taking care of his body now and taking it seriously since being injured 💯
thT MEANS NOTHING. He'll get hurt quick. Overrated as ur comment.
What the hell has Justin Herbert blown out of the water besides a sub 500 record
The best statistically start to a career in NFL history
@@isaiahh4108 Pretty much. He looks the part and the stats are great.
@@Zetler All you care about are numbers. Herbie can keep his stats, I'll take Trevor's 27-0 comeback in the playoffs over your boy (and head to head victories) any day.
@@isaiahh4108and then blew a 27 point lead in a play off game against the guy your saying he’s better than😂 get outta here bruh
@@JC-tq9sw I didn’t realize Herbert plays defense and kicks FGs the things that cost them that game
I think Trevor’s great. He’s a terrific passer with a killer arm and he has pretty decent wheels too. Some scouts have complained he telegraphs his throws which may be true, but he was clocked at 61 MPH - when he first entered college I heard - so he makes up for it maybe with a low Load-to-Arrival (LTA) number. His arm is up there with Mahomes and Allen, almost. His one weakness I think: his touch passes. A lot of strong-armed quarterbacks struggle with that. Favre learned to do it as his career progressed and he’d do this funky quick-release-change-up-like-a-pitcher thing where he’d take heat off the ball but still get it there quickly. But I think the Jags would be nuts not to sign Trevor to a big deal because he should be capable of winning a Super Bowl.
Has played pretty well but not as good as the jaguars need. Didn't play well second half of the season. He is the future got to up his game
Man I feel like he’s a lil overrated by the media. I already feel that Stroud is better than him in his own division.
To compare him to mahomes and Allen is insanity. Allen literally dragged his 6-6 team to playoffs, when all their best defensive players were injured and his best wide receiver gave up on the team. Patrick mahomes has 3 Super Bowl trophies and is best player I have ever seen. Get the fuck out of here that silliness
T-Law is critically underrated. Easily the 2nd best NFL QB but held back by poor coaching, recruitment and a terrible OL.
@@FredEmberg4444 they have a Super Bowl winning head coach, good defense, and good offensive weapons. Look at what Josh Allen is doing with much less.
It’s very simple. Where was the franchise at before Trevor arrived? If it weren’t for injuries, this conversation would be so much different.
It’s amazing the amount of hate that Trevor received through no fault of his own. He took over the part franchise in football. He’s only 24 years old and played half of last year with 3 significant injuries, behind the worst o-line in football.
He’s not looking for the max contract though. He wants the Tom Brady Pat Mahomes contract. Less money to build the team around him.
This comment needs to be pinned at the top 👏🏽
Lawrence has won a playoff game...Herbert hasn't
I love how the talking head love Herbert and he’s done nothing lol
Trent Dilfer has a superbowl and Dan Marino doesn't...sounds ridiculous right ? No one would Take Lawrence over Herbert except Clemson and Jacksonville fans
He won a playoff game after throwing 4 INTs and the Chargers choking. *Golf clap*
“Financial Security” lol
Trevor was behind the 32nd-ranked offensive line last season. And the gap of dysfunction from 31 to 32 was INSANE.
He's a jag just another guy
Perfect comment lmao
I think with Lawrence, the calmness Mike mentions is just his persona, not sure that it hints at being aware that he can move on from the Jags eventually. He’s played his whole life in that area encompassing Georgia, South Carolina and North Florida, so he’s probably very settled there. From the perspective of wanting to play somewhere marketable like some QBs may think about, like Russell Wilson was rumoured to when he was still in Seattle, the looming possibility of a London move for the Jags could provide that in a massive way, even if it does contradict my previous point about familiarity with the area he’s currently playing and living in
Wait until after the 5th year then use the franchise tag….
I'm fully convinced Florio wants the Jaguars to fail in Jacksonville and relocate
it doesn't matter, it will happen
@@davidporter7051 It definitely won't. People have been saying that nonstop for almost 20 years and instead 3 other NFL teams have relocated in that span. Khan's not moving the team.
@@drayiii980 denial is a river in Egypt. Only the insecure try to convince themselves of the inevitable.
@@davidporter7051isn’t that exactly what your doing?? Khans invested millions into the brand new training facility, and the City is already approving money for the new stadium renovations. All signs are pointing to Jags staying for years to come 😭. But I guess we don’t take facts into consideration
@@ihadtodoittoem8452 the fact is the Glitter Kitties are moving it's inevitable. There is not a new stadium lease in place and there is no agreement in place and the city of Jacksonville has no plan to pay for stadium improvement. Guess facts don't matter.
Mike you start out how he’s not worthy and finish with he’s talented enough to make big boy decisions. Love the show.. Media is a mfer. Jay from Orlando
I dont feel hes lived up to the hype... but its wild that hes still only 24 years old. Most the qbs in this draft are his age lol
I would not pay Trevor until I have to or he shows more. Last year was a disaster
follow the trend: year 1 disaster, year 2 awesome, year 3 disaster...
You have an odd definition of disaster.
I guess you're one of these kids who votes on the "it rocks" or "it sucks" scale with nothing in between.
When you get older and have a job etc. you'll realise things can't be pigeonholed that simply.
@@ngc-fo5te wtf are you talking about, I will bet almost anything I’m older then you even though that doesn’t matter. But let’s talk about last year…before the season everyone was saying that division was trash, Trevor Lawrence was going to ascend, and they have a Super Bowl winning head coach. They missed the playoffs, Trevor looked bad, and their last week they lost to titans knocking them out of the playoffs. The titans. If you want to call that successful or anything short of unmitigated disaster then you don’t know nfl.
@@dodu8281 that would be funny if he was like the Star Trek movies, every other one is good
@daltorthedestroyer2016 Immaterial perhaps - but I will pretty much guarantee I'm older than your parents. Were you born in the 50s?
He wasn't a disaster. That is hyperbolic language. Wasn't great I agree but to say disaster is silly.
Why do they keep saying justin herbert? Like come on
I lost some belief after the niners game. Was it injuries..Maybe. we'll find out.
12 Fumbles 14 interceptions is AZZ!!
once he get a true #1 Reciever Its over🔥🔥🔥🔥
I hope the NYG make a play for him next season.
Wld be so horrible to have an nfl team in London, doesn’t make sense, when u have to go on the road for 4-5 games straight then have to travel all the way back to London. Being away from everyone.
Herbert has a sub .500 record and is 0-1 in the playoffs. He has played for 4 years and never missed significant time due to injury. Burrow has played 2 full years and made the Super Bowl one year and the AFC championship the other year.
"He's done enough to get a 2nd contract" is NOT what you want to hear about your #1 Overall "generational talent" QB..
Alex Smith 2.0
Give him an offensive minded head coach that can actually call a game & Trevor will take off.
Didn't kirk cousins do that with Washington?
I think you pay Trevor based upon potential. He struggled last year but I guess he was injured and he hadn’t recovered completely. But Trevor is easily top-5 as a pure passing talent with his arm. I think the Jags turn it around this year although their division is loaded at the QB position, so it won’t be easy. I think even Will Levi’s has real star potential with that arm.
No he’s not, he’s not as good of a thrower as Stafford, mahomes, Allen, burrow, or rodgers. I don’t even think he’s as good as passer as even purdy, Goff, love, Lamar, stroud, Herbert, or prescott. Like he has stronger arm then some of those people but is way less accurate. Where does this idea come from that he’s a top 5 qb?
You think absolutely wrong about his passing. He a bad decisions maker like Josh Allen as well. Low mental faculties is reason. Also even if he was this passing God you pretend he is. That not winning. Learn the purpose of the game. Hint. Patrick Mahomes, Dan Marino, Lamar Jackson are top 3 win percentage of all time. That equal Hall of Fame for all 3.
Trevor lives here, he starts here during his possession. I think the chance of him doing that are slim to none. I think Caleb Williams will be the one if anyone.
I want Jags to pass so he can go to a team with a functional organization. I think he is better than Tua and should be given a chance on a better team.
Respectfully Trevor Laurence can’t be paid that way if he’s never been top 5. You can argue the order but mahomes, Lamar, Allen, Burrow, and Herbert are top 5 guys with Stroud potentially overtaking one of them next year for a top 5 spot. Laurence at best is a top 10 guy but if you pay him like he’s top 5 the franchise will be crippled trying to compete with the rest of the afc.
Herbert doesn’t really have an argument over Trevor Lawrence
God, that dude's got a neck on him! Custom tailored shirts all the way.
25 TDs-8 Ints his first year with doug.
+ 9 fumble loss
Florio is always pushing the pay the QB narrative to every team except when it comes to his own team.
want a story ! look at travis etn ?
😂😂😂 he keeps the hair because his neck is two feet long! 3 feet thick!
45 a year or tag
Bro sounds stupid saying he just gonna leave the jags in this dangerous sport
I think he gonna leave before 24 especially with the way they rebuilding this team baalke don't know how to build he shoulda been mvp by now and he shoulda been in the playoff contention plenty of time give him a better GM with a better HC and watch how he make the Jags regret it
He’s not that good. But the media wants him to be good
It’s even worse with Herbert
Too early. Let him play out his fourth year.
Caleb is gonna be a bust.
Yall talk about Trevor being overrated but baker mayfield has had numerous chances that many players dont get and just got paid 100 million for barely going over .500 and hasn’t played consistent good football year in and year out and winning one playoff game I don’t wanna hear nun
2023 was supposed to Lawrence break out year. Instead he regressed big time.
Was doing just fine until he got his ankle stepped on.
taking his production into consideration he is worth the bottom of the top 10.
He’s literally the 25th best qb at best
Does Nick Wright still call him "The Prince" or is he a frog now...
He's a "GOOD" QB, not a great QB and giving him a Mahomes/Burrow type of contract isn't a good idea for a team that needs so much help everywhere else!
T-Law is critically underrated. Easily the 2nd best NFL QB but held back by poor coaching, recruitment and a terrible OL.
yeah? So you would have him above Burrow? Allen? Herbert?
I’m not sure I’d put him at two but I agree Trevor gets a bad rap. Man, that guy can throw a football! He was born with a football in his right hand.
@@mariogallego5513 burrow and herbert yes Allen its a to close to call.
@@mariogallego5513Burrow can’t stay healthy and Herbert has done NOTHING!! Lawrence has done more with less.
Trevor Lawrence went 2-14 before Doug pederson zay jones Kirk and oluokon
He needs to get out of Jacksonville
He is falling off
Florio is annoying, don’t know why I click on his BS
Pay em
They want him to be the man so bad and all I see is a basic starter. He will not EVER be in a SB or go deep in the playoffs
If that’s all you see, then you need to get your bifocals corrected.
THERES NO WAY TREVOR LAWRENCE SHOULD SIGN A CONTRACT EXTENSION BEFORE TUA TAGOVAILOA ..
Why?
@@Duuuval23 BECAUSE HE SAID IT IN CAPS!
@@IanEskelson 😂😂. He must mean business.
Trevor Lawrence does not have it. He is mediocre at best. He is not terrible, but that's it.
Are you an NFL QB? If not then shut up about stuff you don’t know about bro
@JonEwald Really? lol you come across like a Trevor Lawrence shill with that reaction. You don’t have to be a former NFL player or “expert” to state the obvious. Trevor HAS been mediocre at best. Make any excuse you want, but when you are supposed to be the greatest QB prospect ever drafted (remember that?) and you have exactly as many playoff wins as Tim Tebow that IS mediocre sorry.
@@keithcrook8591 Well said.
The most overrated player in the NFL.
I don't see how anyone could be more overrated than Daniel Jones with that ridiculous contract.
😂give him a better o line we will see. O line Ranked 32nd last season.
Keep saying that he reads sht like this. So you’re doing well.
It’s looking like it … he looks injury prone maybe more than just sorry performance
@@justicestyles it's the first year he got injured. What's he gonna do with the 32nd ranked offensive line?
