The Defender OCTA is the new high-performance hero vehicle with a Twin Turbo V8 Mild Hybrid engine, whereas the Carpathian Edition is a variant of the 2024 Defender 90 with unique exterior and interior styling.
Based on how much money this is going to cost, like twice the price of a base version, there is no way anyway would trash it doing any of these off-road activities. They would be better off testing down a few muddy lanes and a supermarket car park which is where it will spend most of its life.
so, 13 960 tests, how much was total repair costs? anyways despite rang rover has the best looking interior and the top side windows are defiantly a win for me, the defender may, more likely lose to the Toyota land crusier/prado 2024, Toyota is well known and reliable
I wasn’t trying to be a troll, I’ve had 7 Land Rovers over the years and really wanted one of these when they came out. I was talked out of it by the service manager of my local dealer because of the number of problems they’ve had. I do love the brand but have been burned many times by them and unfortunately had to go with a Land Cruiser when I got my last vehicle. Maybe one day I will go back but just can’t justify it right now.

I enjoyed every one of them and have great respect for the brand but wish they could just step up the reliability. Why do you need 626 hp.. 300 hp diesel is absolutely fine,it tows exceptionally well,does 32 mpg on average,36 mpg on long runs. Towing a 3.5 ton load returns 21 mpg.. This thing will do 15mpg max down a hill
If you test for all this stuff why do defender lose 50% of there value after 4 years. I think you need to concentrate more on making it last like the older defender. Which have gone up in value
False advertising my defenders suspension broke at 23000 kms and the dealer says the cars aren't made for heavy duty 'pot holes' 🙄 and they show them jumping it like a kangaroo acting like it lasted more than the time it took to shoot the ad.
between the defender and new toyota lc or prado 2024, its a hard choice, but simply cuz maintainence is high on the rangie, the toyota is best for us poor folks

Ifs irs no Frame, ineos is the better defender today. The defender is More a touareg with weekendwarrior clothing. Hdj100 all the way!! Hzj78 with 12ht all the way!! Even a Volvo xc70 is as capable as this defender.

What model did you own, and what problems did you have? I have a 2021 and it’s absolutely excellent in every way.
BMW Engine and BMW/ZF 8 Speed gearbox….Even Suspension, brakes etc from German companies
A Toyota Prius would have made that most difficult / extreme environment test...
