The wicker structures are made by local artist Trevor Leat who is amazing. Most of his art ends up being burned in ceremonies. A most evanescent art! There is usually a local Wickerman festival in the area, not this year of course.
I've been to the wicker Man festival a few times. Some pretty famous bands have played there. I remember seeing the animals, the buzzcocks and the stranglers play there.
Gail that transformation from a chunk of old copper pipe to a beautiful work of art was amazing. No one could imagine the time, skill and talent that goes into your jewelry unless they watched your videos.
Hi lassies so love your videos love everything you find love everything you make, Gail your copper leaf is stunning and the work put into the things you make is dedication and love, wow that's a lot of love just there's 😅and the blame goes to you for the state of my house any excuse to watch what you're upto with a cup of tea, really weird thing but I again "love it" I found a baby oak tree no taller than two inches last evening when weeding flower bed which will be nurtured and the first video I see today is with your copper leaf, my little tree couldn't have arrived at a better time and your copper leaves make it even more symbolic 🌻🍄🥀🌳
I was mesmerised watching you use your talent and the leaf making. Once again you amaze me. I know the vid says 3 yrs ago but still worth watching. Love your vids
Hello Ladies, The "Private Uncle" plate was made using the M.I.G welding process, is most likely on "hot rolled" mild steel plate and so is probably less than 30 years old. To me this makes it super interesting as this is exactly the sort of thing we used to knock together to tease each other back when I worked in a steelworks in the 80s-90s, unless there's some other explanation "Uncle" was probably a facetious nickname for a grumpy older worker... Love it... Keep up the good work
Wonderful show ladies I have to say it’s my favorite and the leaf you made I had no idea the amount of work and craftsmanship that went into such a beautiful piece. God bless you all and I’ll catch you down the road Sam
I just love to watch you work, Gail, it's so relaxing. BTW I think you are correct about the metal plate, I believe it is a 'G' like you said, not a 'C' & that crosspiece has fallen off. Ungle is actually a very old surname in Britain. It makes perfect sense that the piece was a combined nameplate & no trespassing sign for someone's property.
I just love watching your art and craft videos so much. I love them all but I enjoy watching the process of seeing u turn discarded items into treasures.
"Find a penny, Pick it up, And all the day, You'll have good luck." I used to say that every time I found a penny. I learned it from my grandmother, who was English (from Hove). But we don't have pennies anymore in Canada, so I treasure the ones I still have. Loved your video. Thank you.
We used to go to Kirkcudbright when I was a child and we holidays near there at Bridgehouse bay. I loved Kirkcudbright because I would spend my holiday money in the big toy shop there on Britain's animals.
Your channel keeps getting better and better. I'm blown away by your talents. The music and the filming of the country side sings to my heart. There is something about that place that just gives me goose bumps. I love you guys. You two are what everyone would want in a friend. Warm, kind, sweet and gentle souls. I just cant say enough. God Bless You and keep you safe. OHIO
I really enjoy watching the jewelery making process that involves all the little tiny finds you make. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures.
I totally understand why strangers send you money or buy you tools... if I had money I would support you gladly! Your channel is so awesome and calming, something greatly needed now a days. Thank you from Canada xoxo
My mother would have absolutely adored those leaf necklaces! She loved to dabble in bead jewelry and would have been mesmerized by them! They're gorgeous!
Thank you Gail & Alex! I have had very difficult time lately dealing w/ my Mother's mental health issues - today being particularly stressful - I just really needed this respite from it all. Your videos are always so calming!
Loved this video , Alex how good is your voice as you give us the history of surroundings your in, I’d order e books if you where the reader , so soothing , Mum your talents are endless love the leafs you made. All those pennies make pounds keep saving them , thank you for taking us along xx
Wow! That was a really well rounded video. You found some things in the river, then the amazing history of the little town, then a beautiful piece of jewelry. Loved it! Well done from Tennessee USA!❤ BTW...Private Uncle has to go down as the strangest plaque on Earth.

Another beautiful foray into your lovely countryside! Such a nice distraction from our hot smokey skies this sunday eve in central california. The oak leaves, schwoos, and mother daughter banter were icing on the cake. Thanks very much!

His work is amazing - such a pity to burn it! xx
I seen the horror movie called the Wicker men, horrible as they trapped the people inside and lit the Wicker men alight
I've been to the wicker Man festival a few times. Some pretty famous bands have played there. I remember seeing the animals, the buzzcocks and the stranglers play there.
He is the uncle of the actor Sam Heughan who is Jamie in Outlander. They have had Trevor make several pieces for the show.
His work is absolutely incredible
Brilliant thank you Gail for letting us see your talents, the leaf is beautiful and I love that it’s made from an old piece that you found..

My family were pragmatic souls. I was taught "Find a penny, pick it up and all day you'll have a penny..."
Find a penny pick it up give it to some one else the rest of the day they Will have good luck. That's how I used to say it.
Such beautiful leaves Gail. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is in Rev. 22:2 "The leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations"!
Basically, I love everything about your videos, but if I had to pick just one thing, I love that you give us some history and stories.
The copper leaves would be nice to make dangling ear rings out of for ladies. A nice hunt!
I agree! Those leaves are amazing and my wife suggested earrings.
Brian Kesterson I agree! I’d love a pair.
I thought the same. Especially paired with copper hooded glass beads as acorns ♡ The earrings of my dreams😍
