Why cut the harness off the Jeep? Why not cut the harness off the OEM tail light, connect that to the new lights, then plug it in?

Same here if the colors don't match off the OEM tail light just match the ones that are supposed to go with the wires on the Jeep plug and there you go just plug it back in and everything works if you ever have to remove your tail light for something now you don't have to cut the wires

I know this is kind of on the manufacturer of the product, but twisting wires together is not a very good practice. I would install a matching plug on the taillights so they can be removed if needed-and this is really what the manufacturer should provide. If not, they should at least be crimped. Not trying to be picky, but your videos are typically dead-on so this one stands out.

Dude that's the worst ground I've ever seen. Won't be long before these lights don't work

What about lighting the license plate? When you removed the OEM light you lost the light for the license plate. I didn't see any in that new setup. Don't you now need a new license plate bracket that has lighting to be street legal or does this new light have that and it just was not mentioned?

These lights are NOT D.O.T. approved and for off road use only. They don't do a good job of telling anybody that bit of information.

Passenger side light is definitely higher than the driver side…. Right?

Anybody know if these lights have been upgraded at all in recent years? I had a set back in 2009 that were the first design (all LED's lit with park and stop light) that failed with a year. Replaced those with the newer design (like is shown here, with just the outer ring for parking light). Those failed in under two years. Then I decided to give them another go back in 2016. Those failed in under two years also. Random LED's were burnt out, and some of the "brake" LED's would be faintly on without pushing the brake pedal. I vowed I would never buy them again, but they still look AMAZING!.
I notice the epoxy back on these is white, I think all the ones I ever had were a yellowish brown color. That makes me think they've changed something again and I'm interested to see if they finally hold up now.

So I installed these lights.. very easy.. very bright,, like them a lot. I changed the flasher to stop the rapid signal,,, but now with the led flasher it continues to click when it shouldn’t about 5x... any reason for this? Bad flasher? I have led headlights as well.. does that make a difference??

I guess they did away with the antenna. And then he threw the antenna cable in the jeep. You can see the the firestik antenna cable when he grounds the tail light. Would have liked to see it with the antenna to see what it looked like. He upgraded the tail light and did away with the CB (downgrade)

Probably a little too late to get a reply, but would these not hook up to an jk? I don’t know why It would be any different.

    • @extremeterrain

This specific light kit is made to only fit on YJ and TJ model Wranglers. The opening left when you take your tail lights off on your JK may be too large for these lights to completely fill in the gaps left by them. -Zach

Hello I was wondering do you need load resistors when installing these since I’m switching from the factory tail lights to led? Thanks.

Yes look up replacing the one that is located in the steering colum area

  • @tksullivan8730

Why wouldn’t you just cut the old plug off the original tail lights? Then re-wire new tail lights to the old plug…keeping the ability to unplug and remove

@@extremeterrain sorry to bust your balls, you all have a great store and it is awesome that you all put out useful videos for the products that you sell.. but i was ready to buy these until i was blown away when i found out the crazy price for these two 4" led lights...

No hate! Got a chuckle out of it. 😂 I appreciate the kind kinds about the store and our videos! They are little more expensive than other LED options. But there's no drilling or cutting of the body for install which is great, and they've still be working great on this TJ shown! -Zach
