- Complete with DIY leather piping and French seams. We've been loving our cargo e-bike so much that I decided to add even more functionality! In this leathercraft video I make a rear passenger bench seat out of an old piece of 1/2" plywood and some high-density foam cushioning. Bonus feature: You also get to see me use my table and band saws, and my router table.
This eBike is starting to look more and more like some sort of motorcycle!
If interested, the bike is specifically an M-81 "Garootan" Cargo E-Bike from the folks at Addmotor (who did NOT sponsor this video.) My original review of this bike can be found here:

Very nice electric bike seat, I'm sure many Addrider envy you because you have this one and only Garootan e-bike😎
I think the part that impressed me most was the hand made piping. Really top quality work.
Thanks! Piping is one of those small details that really ads to a piece of leatherwork.
Not this video in particular, but I wanted to say thanks for turning me on to Aquilim 315! It's an absolute miracle to worth with compared to barge.
Yes!! No fumes, water based, MUCH easier to apply than barge. Tandy sells EcoWeld.... which is almost identical.
wood working AND leather working??? hell yeah!!
I do a lot of DIY stuff. Which means I've ended up with a lot of tools!
@@RoadAgentLeather I see that. I really like the mill/drill.
Great job! Thanks!
Don’t know how old your kids are but I hope they appreciate the hard work you do. Do you ever let them try their hand at the craft?
I have . . . and ended up needing to replace some of my stamps as they were pounded straight through the leather and into the granite slab.
@@RoadAgentLeather As we all know, it’s a learning curve. Give them an A for enthusiasm.
Another great job 👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Nice work
You sir are a great craftsman!
Thanks!
I enjoyed watching the piping technique. Great craftsmanship.
Cool Project. You've added a lot good looking functionality to that little e-bike. I love how you put your maker's mark on the sewing machine. I hadn't noticed that before.
Thanks! I'm thinking about making the footpegs out of leather. Probably be a short video. Stay tuned!
@@RoadAgentLeather Looking forward to it!
This was great. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Great video. I recently bought the e58 add motor and am very lmpressed with your work. I shall have saddle bags soon.
Supreme craftsmanship as usual. Best wishes from across the pond in London, England
Thanks!
It seems wonderful, amazing, congratulations 👏👏👏
Thanks!
Next level work as usual right there!
Thanks!
Amazing work
Thanks a lot 😊
So Creative 🤌🏼😍
Thank You!
👍
😊❤
You are so amazing
Great job. That rolled edge looks great. Where do you get those different feet for your machine? And what glue are you using it seems to hold well?
The piping feet are from Amazon. They're relatively inexpensive: This set was $30 for six different sizes. I'm using Eco-Weld contact cement.
so... this bike is on my shortlist of bikes... I have 5th & 7th grader combined they may weigh like 130lbs (they are small kids)... so I say that to ask... do you think this thing can fit 2 kids on your seat?
The rear deck area is large enough for two kids, yes. Looking back at it, I would have made the backrest taller ... more like sissy bars on a motorcycle. When throttling, it has enough torque to make the rear person fall back if not holding on. I may make that alteration eventually.
Curious on what glue you are using and what model skiving machine you have? Very nice work!
Oops, ignore the skive machine question I see you have a video on it.
In this video I'm using EcoWeld contact cement.
Do you take custom orders?
