@@angellas.1314 the walls are doing great so far, the floor is way better than before but still has minor issues only during periods of heavy heavy rain. There is just too much water pressure from below during these times. It is more due to the water table being high and the original floor that was done way back in the fifties. Overall thought it stays pretty dry down there.

Great video about what looks like an amazing product. Thanks for going thru the needed steps to prep & apply. Dryloc alone failed in my application after a few years. Now that I’ve addressed slope & exterior drainage issues, I’m gonna give this product a try. Like one of your other commenters, I’ll be applying Dryloc primer & topcoat on top of the two coats of mortar. Yep, it’s a belt & suspenders approach, but I’ve never regretted “overbuilding”. Your straightforward presentation style has made me your newest subscriber.

I called pond stores about water proofing my two story water fall holding pools, they said we don't do waterfalls, I called pool companies, they said to small of a job no thanks. Than I went to home depot where no one knew anything the rapid set products. Than I called rapid set. A guy named Alex was so kind and helpful. I knew what product to use at that point. I still had to be convinced. Your video convinced me and today I did it. two coats added SAKRETE cement coloring. I wonder how this would work as the initial coats when doing a concrete counter top pour using a mold. IE. line the mold with it before adding the rest of the concrete countertop mix and those coats would act as the top/edges of the finished countertop. Then you'd have a waterproof countertop.

Great video and noted ... family and I are on house hunt and we found a nice place but the foundation has seepage in the crawspace ... as we really like the place we are going for hopefully securing it for ourselves this coming week ... honestly I am hoping people who don't know any better looking at this place will see this and just hide from it so it is an easier thing for us to get as so far we have lost five houses over the last year of our hunting for a place .... as if interest rates and prices of suitable houses was not bad enough ... anything really good has upteen people looking at it and for five cases they have all had more money than we could manage -_-
Anyway just wanted to drop the thank you as the cost of the place is steep and paying a professional to do this work so I am happy to do it myself and get to saving us some much needed cash by rolling up my own sleeves to help fix our hopefully 'future home'

Hopefully you sealed the foundation from the outside by digging all the way around which is the proper way. This method will do more harm then anything else trapping water in the foundation deteriorating it until the pressure is able to get through which it will eventually. Never seal the interior unless the exterior is bulletproof or completely waterproof , or the bill to fix the damage will be much more then 14 grand.

Love all Rapid Set. I use it and swear by it.
Folks, this will NOT make your house a boat. Insane is the all of human existence that ignore downspouts properly running away from the house. All roof water needs to be 10 feet away or piped away. I make my living in this concrete type work, but it’s always the ignorance of roof water gutters downspouts and gravity. Now top class builders run the downspout down to the foundation and walk away. Ignorant. The roofing and gutter guys run it right down to the side of the foundation and walk away as if it’s job complete. That is building with cancer. Never finished the job. New learning but it is stupidity. New fix boys like this, ignoring downspouts running the roofs water 10 feet away from the foundation. NEVER NEXT TO IT. This will not make you house a boat. Make sure your downspouts and your gutters are all properly working for the amount of square footage on your roof. I see so many houses the new next homeowners eliminate a downspout is if that would save them money yet three or five years later their entire concrete back porch is sinking 7 inches and they have no idea how it ever happened

Michael, I understand all the negative comments. Water in the walls will expand and create new problems. Outside is the way to go. If you can't get outside my opinion is this may work for awhile.
You're still my favorite on RUclips! Just did a firetable like yours. Combined 2 of your videos to get what I wanted

Could you use this on your sidewalk as a refinisher/ stain blocker/ protector? I know it sounds crazy but in the south with pecan trees and rain, my driveway and walkways get nasty real fast.

I'd like to use this for my shower floor instead of the regular deck mud. I'd also like to use it on one of my bathroom walls as a faux concrete wall....can it trowel out with a very smooth finish?

Thanks for the video. You seemed to do maybe half bag at a time. Did you just guesstimate on how much water to mix or was that 3.5 quarts for half the bag?

Surprised theterere are not more negative comments. Please do not do this to your interior foundation. Sure you cant see the water, but it is still there behind it with no way to escape. Water ALWAYS wins. Bare minimum if you do this, weep holes into a gutter type system.

There's a great RUclipsr --> Mark Anderson (basement waterproofing) who excavates on the outside. He addresses exactly what you're talking about, patching and sealing cracks on the exterior, then backfills with gravel down to the drain tiles. And he removes the clay soil which is nasty for basement walls.

I really want to create a wall sized outdoor water fountain with a light for our entryway. Maybe a lions head and a half bowl that doesn’t stick out that far. Could you show us a video on that? Could this be used instead of quick set? Thoughts???

Hey I just subscribed. Excellent video tutorial. I would like to do the walls in my basement but sections have a coat of probably water or oil based paint. Do you have any really good ideas to get paint off the cinder block walls. I’ve tried several different paint removers no luck. I like to get it down to the natural block. I even thought about water sandblasting. Excellent video Thanks

A wire wheel on a grinder will make short work of removing paint however you dont want to seal the interior wall of a basement ever, will cause more damage while temporily holding back the water which will deteriorate your foundation until it breaks through due to pressure, always seal from the exterior first.

    Love your video!
Not that it matters but Hydrostatic Pressure
    Fluid weight (ppg) x 0.052 x height
    8.33 x 0.052 x 5' = 2.16 psi

If the foundation is covered with Grace on the outside and already backfilled, is it necessary or recommended to use this product on the inside??? Never got an answer so I will assume this is a bad idea if Grace is used on the outside.

Can you add other rapid set material onto this product once it’s cured?
Wanting to do the fake castle blocks (only 1/2” thick)look onto the wall.
Basically my wall is solid grout filled 8x8x16 block but wanted 16x16x32” looking blocks but want the waterproofing as well.
    Thanks

Does this product still allow the foundation to breathe though? Could you essentially parge your exterior foundation wall with this method? (Vs using cement-all and sealing after with waterproofing)
