I would love to see a 300 yard gel test with a 308 using this bullet.

    • @EdAb

A 300 plus yard test is critical, not easy to do, but critical. Thousands of shooters have done 100 yard tests, which is great, but we're not learning anything new from those tests. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what The Social Regressive channel is doing and I know, it's real work. But... if you want to stand out in the RUclips world, try making 308 Win videos, at 300 yards and more.
There is a real shortage of this kind of content. Cheers

@@EdAb Agree. Plust I'm shooting closer targets from a 16" bbl, so the 300 yd or 100 out of a 16" would be great info.

I bought these in .270 for an elk hunt. Didn’t shoot an elk, but performed great on whitetail. 0 jacket separation at close range, just what I’m looking for in a premium bonded bullet.

No complaints. Thanks. It's always nice to recover a bullet. That's the main prize. Bullets don't always cooperate.

Federal did a limited run with this bullet in the 270wsm in a 136gr bullet at 3200fps. I bought a number of boxes at the time. It's extremely accurate and devastating on deer.

@The Social Regressive yeah I've been eyeballing some 308 and 300wm... I've got a couple different types of quality 308 and I've got some federal gold swift Sirocco in 300wm so I'm not n a hurry to blow money but it's always good to have quality ammo laying about

I've loaded up some Federal Trophy Bonded Tip weighing 140 grains for my 7mm-08 that groupe pretty good. I"m still sitting on some 160 grain ones. I have a load that groups really well at 2535 fps but I'm waiting on another powder to see if I can find more velocity. I'm looking for some StaBALL 6.5 for that. BUT... your video has me thinking maybe I shouldn't wait. My test group for the 160's was about a half inch. Almost too good to pass on it. But this is supposed to be my new moose load so I really don't need such an accurate load. A moose vital is still pretty big at 300 yards which would be my maximum range anyway. Maybe you could try some TBT's in your 7mm-08?

So I have the federal premium 136gr terminal ascent for my 270 win. I'm looking forward to shooting a deer with it. I have high hopes for it. I did take a deer with my 270 150gr federal fusion and man did it work beautifully. Ran 30 yards with no heart and a massive blood trail. Hit so hard it separated the ribs from the sternum.

Terminal Assent bullets I believe are the best al all around high velocity / low velocity bullet made. Now making them shoot tight groups accurately is the main issue. Kinda love/hate problem.

If I may critique something. Your stock is a bit low in your shoulder, it looks like it’s under your collar bone.
If you get it higher, you can probably shrink that vertical spread a bit.

@@SocialRegressive I have one and I am currently working on recoil management. it does kick like a magnum. But I like the performance specs on this and it may become my favorite all-around hunting rifle, next to my TC Compass II .380 W. I usually hunt in northeast Texas on public land where the longest distance I have ranged is 225 yards. But most shots in the woods are 70 - 100 yards.
But I may eventually get to hunt Mule Deer in west Texas or even west Oklahoma, though that does involve getting an out-of-state license, etcetera. Do you have a drawing system there for mule deer? In Texas, the TPWD has a drawing system and you enter but not always win. For example, for years, I was entering for a gun doe hunt on a certain property and only won this last season. Normally, that property, you can only hunt doe with archery during archery season.

    • @SocialRegressive

I haven't looked up how it works. That would be a fun hunt, though. I entered the lottery for elk, but we probably have only one specimen. 😂

Is it just me? Did anyone see something drop vertically under the front of the table at 2:53 in the timeline. I don't know how it would have gotten there. Looks like a barely mushroomed bullet.

    • @SocialRegressive

That was a screw getting blasted off the table's frame. Those were some hard hits.

What's the expansion threshold? Why even recommend them for 300BK.

    • @SocialRegressive
      @SocialRegressive  Год назад

It would be a terrible idea and super expensive. But it would still work ok. These are designed to expand a bit at low velocities.
