I have been searching for this song half my life 😅
Zap Mama were ahead of their time! Forever indebted to Marie Daulne for bringing together all this amazingly talented women. I’m of the same Gen- we wanted unity in the 90s/ early 2000s - blend our diff cultures & experiences - stand as one for Africa in Europe - who could have foreseen today’s toxic division & classism?
Zimbabweans let's gather here 🙌🏿❤
Celebrating womanhood, sisterhood, the earth, African vibes, the warmth and cacophonie of togetherness and the holiness of solitude, silence, and desert.
However many years later, this still - its just a terrific song.
that effect will last for a million years at least, I mean, I'm estimating
2020 this track brings back childhood memories
Reminds me of Afrobeat.
Coca cola on the beat on ZBC. Basically every Zimbo 90's kid childhood
Exactly bro lol Afrobeat. It gave me nightmares
Hahaha more like Afrobeat
Anybody in the world enjoying this as much as me? Had to comment twice
Yes its AMAZING😍
❤️❤️
Your boy
...and to think that back in 1993 MTV Europe played this video frequently in the late afternoon rotation...
Eish,childhood memories..🇿🇼
underrated most definitely
ID DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING BUT IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I'VE EVER HEARD! MUSIC TRULY IS UNIVERSAL!
Bassghost Baybay this come from Africa end Belgium together

Brrrlak - Zap Mama
I’m from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 This song used to give me nightmares as a kid 😂💦
😂😂
Why....????
😅😅
I think and hope you are right! I miss bands like Zap Mama. They brought us something very unique!
6 dislikes? How can you have a heart & soul and even consider pressing the thumbs down for such a beautiful uplifting celebration of the spirit?
This just brought back childhood memoriessss!
This playful gem is what turned me on to Zap Mama. Please continue zapping us.
A band of such beautiful women, and this song is so much fun to listen to.
Me encantan estas mujeres, de verdad que han sido mi inspiración para seguir cantando
saludos
I love Zap Mama.. I went to the concert at The Filmore - SF... is unforgatable... I´m so happy to find this tresure here.
This song will live forever if no where else in my mind. I think it is too ignored. The vocal progressions and subtle dynamics are Amazing. i have no idea what the french parts are, but I feel it. I love it. I use to fall asleep to their music all 1am in the morning.
I love them more together than the solo.
From what i understand its "j'examine et je fulmine???, moi la carabine ça m'abime.. mais je vous ai la, sur ma poitrine, je m'incline, je vous fait signe"
Which doesn't make much sense in French either lol.. very subjective "I examine and i ??? As for me, the shotgun keeps hurting.. but i have you here on my chest, i bow and give you a sign" don't know if i missed a saying/proverb or if i misheard a word but i don't think so..
This song 😅, Zimbabweans can relate
zap mama among best mamas
I don't know if they still perform, but they put on one of the best concerts I ever saw.
Wikipedia says they're still active
agree 100%!!!
Zapp Mama 💃💜💃💜💃💜💃💜
I love this song; used to walk around singing it all day; considering it was stuck in my head. :)
pure. simple/complex. perfect.
Zimbabwe!!!!!!!! Do you remember this Song. Used to play on Afro-beat
This is such a cheerful song. I walk around my office singing it nearly everyday. : )
This song recreates itself each time.
I love this video. It looked like it was hella fun to make.
La technique du son produit par la flute des bambuti est délicieusement incorporé dans cette chanson mesmérisante
I just wonder why Zap Mama changed so radically to it's style today. They used to be so great, and this song proves it. Now that Marie Daulne is the solo and the other four great women are gone, she has lost all the greatness. You have to admit that today she sounds just like anyone else. How did that ever happen if she had such a special thing in here?
that's how it often works, she's still a talented woman with more credits than most can ever hope for.... thanks for this music, amirit!?
Happy International Women's Day!
Amai, this is nice..
Those were the days, 2021 reminiscing on my childhood, thanks @Zbc 🇿🇼

Afro feminine 90s fire!!!!
These guys are the best. My A Capella group is covering a song of theirs, I'll definitely post a video of it.
I was listening to one of the albums and had one of the deepest sleeps I have ever had.
Memories of yesteryear ☺️☺️
I love Zap Mama!!!
Thank You! i don't know how any body could dislike such positivity.

Amazing. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. powerfully beautiful, exceptionally talented, joyously feminine, artistically brilliant ladies. Could this be required viewing in every high school across the world, because I want every young girl in the world to aspire to be like these beautiful women. Let's take a vote

Whenever my baby sister would cry, if we played this song she’d stop, and once it finishes she starts crying again 😂😂 we had to record it on a VCR cassette. This was twenty something years ago
