Arthur is both completely insufferable and perfectly charming at the same time
So perfectly English minus the hoarding 🏴❤️
@@Karenanneseven Sounds about right
😂 when you go to your buddy’s house and he doesn’t clean but asks you to eat out of his pan lmao😂.
💀😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ewwww I know I grew up in a gross house no running water, no inside plumbing. It smelled back. But, not quite as bad as this.
It took me 8 years to help my friends clean their home. It wasnt garbage but everything else. We could've opened a clothing store, bookstore and a pharmacy from everything in that house. It was such a relief when we finished and they were able to sell it.
God Bless You.
I am so glad I am not a hoarder, my parents were to an extent, not dirty just odd stuff like a bag of little of wires. Took forever to clean out their house. I just lost my husband of 44 years three weeks ago. I will watch myself closely to see if I pick this problem up. Depression effects people differently.
Oh so sorry. Just give yrself time. Some days are ok, some not, but keep going.
So sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss. 44 years...
i'm so sorry
Not a hoarder but I have clutter & a small house. I have a clutter purge every 3-6mths. My declutter tips-
Watch Hoarders-gets me in a mood where I can be merciless getting rid of stuff.
Start with utility rooms, kitchen & bathroom. Usually not many sentimental items so choices are about usefulness. I'm doing my kitchen today.
Take before & after pics-very satisfying & gives you a sense of achievement.
Make it a bit fun-put on music, have a drink or whatever puts you in a good mood. You will do more if it's not like a chore.
Bedroom- I pull all clothes out, try on those I'm not sure if they fit & put in charity bag if not. Throw shabby clothes.
EDIT cos I forgot 1. Stick to one room at a time so that you see a rewarding difference. Potter around in different rooms & it won't look like you've made any difference. That is disheartening.
The book from Marie Condo on decluttering changed my whole perspective on "stuff". If it doesn't "spark joy", say goodbye to it.
Great tips, thank you! I have been gradually decluttering my home for over a year now. Can literally feel the difference. I neglected to take the "before" photo though, this was a mistake :(
I was helping a relative with her “mess” one day, she turned on a fan and right behind it was a wall full of black mold. Within minutes, i got dizzy then could not hold my head up. I had to be driven home. It took me a few hours to get back to normal. Didn’t affect her at all.
January 2024. I got rid of a box and a big bag of stuff today. Clothes and dishes went to Goodwill. Art supplies went to a local seniors program. I have another
pile of books and magazines for the library. Every day, I get rid of piles of stuff. My husband and daughter like stuff much more than I do. Tina, Al's wife
when i heard that she just new Jim and he proposed and was moving in. For me that was a red flag.
So we're not gonna talk about the ball gag hanging from his light chain in the bathroom? ROFL
None of the comments were mentioning it and I was really starting to think I imagined it!! Why is it in the bathroom?!?😅
I was looking for thisss..😂😂😂
Hi I’m Clorox bleach, and i have Clorox friends
Mandy needs an Etsy shop! She could be working full time getting so much money back.
That would be so much work, and a long time wich makes it more difficult to part from stuff. I think she's better of just moving all out of the house and let someone else sell it for her. That way she really can start a new fresh life.
Arthur, good going for being honest. Nobody else will admit to any laziness component in their mess. Watching from 🇨🇦 where one in ten hoards 👍👍👍
Mandy could have a great vintage boutique. She can cycle product in and out, make some money, and still enjoy seeing and putting her hands on new finds.
Mandy's story: this flat is a costume department of a whole film studio! And what concerns the first man, Arthur, he needs to visit psycologist. as an avarage person I can see he doesn't really want to see his daughter and relatives in real now, he wants to live in his virtual past.
Perhaps, but unless his living conditions bother him and he wants to change, the chances of any success from therapy is very, very low. And in most free democracies, people are allowed to be odd, make “bad” decisions, etc. It can be tricky to tell when odd becomes too odd and harmful.
It is amazing how hoarders are disappointed over not having family visit.
It is disappointing, but make other arranhements. Why force people to slip and slide on paper rubble, breathe dirty air, sit among cobwebs or have a dirt cup for tea.
Meet them somewhere. Puy on some fresh clean clothes and meet them for lunch.
Hard to get your head around.
My moms house became like this after her divorce, but I helped her and it is better now.
I think I rather wear a mask than wear gloves.. hands can be washed .. . breathing all that stuff in , gross
Good point! The air has to be as filthy as the floor not to mention all the cigarette smoke.
It really is amazing how bad people can let things get. No hate, it gets overwhelming and as people age, it makes sense why people cant or dont want to clean it up. I wish everyone in these shows the best and happier lives, and I like the generally softer vibes to this show over the american one.
Oh, that audio tape was soooo important to him. If it was that important, wouldn't he have stored it in a special place?
This man could be a dragon if this was fantasy.
Oh Mandy, I just really hope all those beautiful items are okay. So many hoards degrade the precious items in them.
I can only imagine how bad Arthur smells ,between the dirt and the smoking
Arthur seems to think it’s funny and wonders why his daughter won’t visit. Really!!
He is old and we must have some empathy for him but it's just difficult to support ppl like him.. atleast come halfway thru!!
How can u be selfless and help a person who's not only ungreatful but unkind to u
Hoarder is a kind of a neighbour you really do not want to have 🙈
Even my children are taught to clean up after themselves at 4 years old. But a 70 year old man can't be bothered to pick up wet paper in his bathroom floor for 15+ years, and he thinks that he DOESN'T have a mental illness?
Wanting to save broken audio tapes? 🤦♀️🤷♀️
I know it’s hard to understand, but I hope you have some compassion for people with hoarding disorders. As you can see in this video a traumatic event usually preludes this behaviour developing over time.
Denial goes hand in hand with hoarding. It's part of the mental illness.
For majority of them. Yes. They don't realize that they have a mental illness. They believe their home and the way they live is normal, be ause that's all they have ever known.
Shoot in the last video the guy was in his 80s. His mother was a hoarder. He grew up in a hoarding house so he new nothing different so he also hoarded newspapers, TVs, paper, magazines, and whatever else to him held historic value.
So for them it's normal way of life, and all they know. They don't think it's a mental illness because of this.
And it's also hard for them to get the realization that the hoarding is wrong/bad and that they do have a problem and need help.
the lady with all the vintage clothing is giving Kathy Bates somehow. Some of those are beautiful clothes, just getting messed up because it’s crushed by other things too packed together.
My boyfriend has a friend who isn't a hoarder but he has not cleaned his house in years. The house is filthy. Dirty dishes, crud and guck all over the place. My boyfriend won't go inside the place so they talk outside. The man has severe depression since his divorce years ago. He won't improve his situation. It's a sad state of affairs.
It’s sadly a Mental Health Issue. Depression and Denial are Powerful things. Filth is a Mental Health Issue.
@@ksemery I agree
Severe depression is something you need outside help with.
Met online and proposed 2 months after? That's... fast 😳
He's a hoard digger.
Yeah I find that veerrrry concerning
especially to a hoarder - can't believe he'd want to take that on; lovely woman tho
I mean it's still better than being lonely, I'd prefer a heartbreak over being lonely
Странно, что движет людьми,чтоб так себя запускать и ЗАСРАТЬ квартиру или дом. Жизнь без смысла, веет какой то безнадегой.😱😵
This man should have been narrating books he is absolutely charming
The moment the bed fell😂 I have definitely been there.
If those busted up tapes are so precious to Arthur, then why have they been left to rot like that? These 'precious' items aren't treated as such by these hoarders.
Those two cleaning ladies had a really great personality. I'm sure it's difficult to deal with a Hoarder. But I myself understand how it can happen. I recently lost my mom and and she was always super clean about everything. But even though it's been 2 years. I can't seem to motivate myself to do really anything when I know it should be done
If Mandy sold 10 items a day for the rest of her life, she still wouldn't have a livable space.
JUST LET GO. Sell the items wholesale or donate them. You'll make less money, but your home will be livable.
i love Max and Jas. hugs and love from Germany 💪💪👍❤️🙏🌈🫂
Thank you so much for your video.
This was a gorgeous episode.💖💖
He look like David rodigan 😂
The trash is just nasty.
Arthur reminds me of alistar sim in the christmas carol, same kind of accent
My ex lives like this. I've tried to help him out. I've cleaned, organized, discarded stuff, etc., several times, but it always ends up like this again. Now he's gotten to where he'll go weeks without showering. 😢
"We are going to have to sort things into what stays and what goes. My prayers are being answered at long last".
Guess who answers my prayers for a clean, safe, peaceful, welcoming home, Arthur. ME. A thousand little moments and efforts a day. ME!
It’s hard for a normal person to understand, but a person with ocd or adhd, or people on the spectrum, just can’t handle organizational and cleaning tasks that just seem obvious to most of us. They just don’t see or smell things like other people do. It’s very difficult to understand, but think of this like people who have a learning disability like dyslexia, and they just can’t make sense of words the way others can. These people need compassion and patience. It’s a frustrating situation.
@@jeanieolahful As an adult child of hoarders. As the aunt of a child with Downs, a child with SPD, and a child with ASD, and as someone with CPTSD, GAD and MDD I am aware. I know better than most that anecdotally and statistically interventions Do.Not.Work. No matter how much compassion and understanding you bring to the party.
Arthur seems to be beyond help.
Please put those tapes in a tote for him. Even if the tapes won't play they still may trigger that memory for him. Momentos and important things need to be kept for progress to be made. It can be put in a clear case for proper display later.
Raise your hand if you want to just get a hefty bag and start cleaning this guy's dump! I'm gonna go clean my closet after this!
WHY DON'T YOU JUST PRIORITIZE SHOWING THE CLEANING PROCESS???
I am sorry, it is a bit of a mess is the understatement of the year.
I think maybe Arthur has a false memory about the daughter's hand print on the wall. It looks to be too big and too high for a child to make. Curious.
Arthur, apart from the hoarding is just so perfectly English 🏴 ❤
Fashion collector, why didn't she just e-bay stuff, could have had a steady income
Lady collecting clothes, shoes etc. Should have a huge sale.❤❤❤she has beautiful things.
Guy living if a fantasy world . Pig sty doesn’t do it justice
How can anyone just sit in that mess, they know it is a mess, but it just keep accumulating. Just don't care - I can't take it, the smell alone would make me sick 😷
How can they afford to keep buying? Surely it's a burden on the economy???
What's the point with Instagram, if you have no followers? Why sell there, it's like, okay no one wants it, I keep it!!!
I hope Arthur meets a nice lady
Another ancient video; Are you running out of new material?
The smoking and filth. I can only imagine how nasty Arthur’s house smell!🤢
Arthur wasn't nasty just overwhelmed..
70th bday???? I thought he was in his 80s😢...OMG sorry, he's just lazy or crazy😮 I've seen plenty of hoarders but I don't feel anything for him but disgust...he probably has the newspaper on floor to pee on them
70, and still blaming his hoard on his mother's' death when he was 25.
Can you imagine how much more she will hoard if the new relationship ends?!
I simply cannot wrap my head around hoarding. I just don't understand the "need" to live this way.
Poor
Arthur is very sweet but needs help. Shame
❤
If THEY sell all This THEY get RICH ❤❤❤❤❤❤
… not gonna lie I am a bit like the clothing hoarder
Like bad lol
if the tapes are that important to arthur, why did he not store them away carefully? It`s not fully understandable, if hoarders love their stuff why not organize it better, have more racks etc? other than that he and everyone is this show was very nice and positive, hope they feel a bit better now.
I can understand hoarding to some extent, but not the filth....
