I wish the US hoarders was like this. It’s so much more lighthearted, there’s no drama, there’s no judgement, and it feels more personal. Since the cleaning team is so small it forces the hoarder to face their hoard and be more involved in the clean up which is critical for their improvement and recovery.
100% American version definitely creates drama by “accidentally” throwing something important away or forcing family members to confront personal issues. British version is such a breath of fresh air! I feel like the hoarders have a better chance of changing
Absolutely! The US hoarders are almost resentful of any attempt to declutter, nasty attitudes toward family and cleaning professionals or therapists. I enjoy watching the UK version. You cheer for those who have a new lease on life. The US hoarders? Leave them in their mess. Ungrateful bunch.
At least the cat lady realised her relationships were all the same destructive pattern, she is genuinely helping the older cats and i hope she is doing well.
Seeing Alison and Fiona in this episode who both have some genuinely lovely items in their collections and who aren't living in complete filth is definitely making me realize some things about my own hoarding tendencies…😳 There's definitely a fine line between being a collector of beautiful things and straight up hoarding.
I do love these British hoarder shows for their general positivity, but I don't think I've actually seen a single home get what I'd call de-cluttered yet. I'd go completely mad if I had to stay in Allison's home for more than a day. There is still stuff everywhere. She does seem to care for the cats properly so I will commend her for that. The other lady's house is still crazy cluttered too, even in the rooms that were cleared. Her gorgeous white cat cannot speak English to communicate but he was definitely sending her a message by pooing behind the couch.
On the other hand, the US shows featuring successful interventions feature homes that are brought down to the bare bones. You can easily imagine how the hoarder will start strewing things around again. Here, the people are allowed to retain and enjoy a cache of personal treasures. Their homes aren't stripped of their identity or their passions.
Hoarder disorder is a mental illness. These people need to be treated with compassion and respect. I loved the way the cleaners were so kind. The homes were way to cluttered for my taste, but to each their own.
If she was caring for them her house wouldn't be like this.. I understand its an illness and I sympathize.. but making an animal live in this is animal abuse and cruelty for sure
I remember Stelios on 'The Hoarder Next Door' helping her more than once; the majority of hoarders hoard and re hoard, never recovering from this illness.
I have a feeling most of it is staged. I mean when I am not dusting just a week everything is covered with dust and yet their houses are supposedly clotered in years and I don't see any dust
After watching hoarders, I always get inspired to clean more and toss things out. Too much stuff makes me feel ill. I need clean spaces clear of clutter. After the hoarders homes are cleared out and they go back in to see the result, that level of clutter they’re left with does my head in.
Both of these ladies have gone through hardship, and I love the way that the teams treated them - with respect, compassion, and kindness. I was disappointed that Mary's home was left with the counters covered in stuff, there things piled around the walls of every room, and there are still two rooms that can't be entered. In the craft room, ONE person could have went in there and just sorted like things together for an hour and put it in those empty totes. That would have been such an improvement. But, I'm so happy for both of these women that they ended feeling encouraged and that their lives are improved. The female team of organizers, I could watch them all day! I love their humor. :) Sweet..
I’ve always wondered what hoarders think when they threaten to shut it all down. Like Mary, she said that and hoped that “they” meaning the cleaners/ organizers wouldn’t ruin everything by pushing her. Fine. Don’t get a clean house. 🤷♀️ You hired them. They have nothing to gain or lose except a failed attempt.
There is still so much stuff at Allison... How can you clean when there is so much clutter on every surface?? As for Mary, he white cat is so beautiful!
Crafting is a swear word to me. To have order now in my older age, i only allow one craft, and that is sewing -for clothes only. Not trying to be self righteous, but i have seen so many people over run with crafting stuff.

It's an addiction as well. The endorphins their brain produces when they're shopping and hoarding is a chemical drug. Addicting as any other drug...😢
The Hydrangeas are BEAUTIFUL!!!
George is so handsome, giving Matt Paxton from US Hoarders some competition 😂
I love Matt Paxton and Corey Chalmers. I miss them on the newer episodes of Hoarders.
As a cat person myself, I appreciate how Allison treats her cats. The last thing sick cats need is to live in filth.
Alison has hoarded and re hoarded for years; she did get help, but like the majority of hoarders, they continue to hoard for the rest of their lives.
As a cat lady, Alison is so sweet in my opinion, most people don’t want elder animals
Shes a different horrder. Her home is cluttered & messy but theres no built up trash & her cat is will cared for. Most horders live in filth & trash.

Alison has such great talent for decorating! What a good eye, it is just a matter of the volume for her.
How many times has Allison been on these shows? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her twice already, she was nicknamed something like “ladybug” once.

Likely the ease of online shopping as well as the proliferation of cheap goods from China have played a part in the growth of hoarding disorder
How do most people afford these stuff? In so many epi. People r depressed/too old or not working then how? Is everyone super rich in this country?
Cats are pretty clean animals unless the environment is dirty or their health is bad. My cat always uses his cat box. Its clean so he uses it
So true. Plus I’m sure only having 1-2 cats is ideal vs having 11 that are in competition with one another for space

Hoarders do a thing called “churning.” Moving there hoard from one place to the next without ever getting rid of anything.
A good psychiatrist DOESN'T put words into the person's mouth. If it were a court case she would be LEADING the witness.
Here in Australia local government limits the number of cats can be kept in a house to 2❤
Alison has been helped TWICE before! Aren't there OTHER hoarders in need of help?
Maybe she should get a 400 sq ft apartment so there's less stuff
I was going to say. This woman seemed familiar to me.

Cats don't have accidents unless their box is not cleaned. Or they are really sick.
Old cats have accidents and develop new behaviors even if nothing in their environment has changed.
@@seanabadalich9112 That is true. Same with dogs. And humans for that matter.

At 32:00 Mary is losing all feeling for decorum. There are people to help her, probably for free in exchange for making the program, and she just tells them to piss off. Before she showed her teeth too, ready to bite anyone daring to help her sort things through. Saw no apologies made.
Cat lady could donate 3 things from her house a week to the cat rescue shop, slow getting rid of stuff.
So much money wasted instead house repairs, car repairs taking care of their teeth, getting eyes checked take care of their health.
Such lovely personalities! I would like to be friends with all of them! But what happened with Fiona?
Nothing worse than cats pee,it stinks the house out🤢
Still much stuff for both. 😮
you clearly do not care for your crafts
11 cats WOW. I do like all her ladybugs. Fiona has a shopping and hoarding problem. How many shoes and clothes does one need? Sell your clothes and shoes on Posh Mark. Who did the subtitles? Hat was ta and jewelry was JE
Luxury problems?
